The eggplant was really soggy, and the whole sandwich was lacking that crispiness I was hoping for. It wasn't quite what I wanted. On the bright side, the marinara sauce was pretty solid--not too sour or tangy, and it had good flavor, but the sandwich itself was just missing something. It wasn't my favorite. That said, they do have a lot of other options on the menu, and I'll probably give them another shot. This time around, the only other thing we tried was the gelato, and that was amazing. You can tell it was fresh, and it was definitely the highlight of the meal. The deli has a good amount of seating, but it does get really busy during lunch rush, so just a heads-up. You can pre-order if you want to skip the line, which is a nice option. Even with the skimpy meat the whole combination with me tweaking the sandwich was so fu#king delicious I got a second one to take back to WI for dinner. The area probably has a better Italian deli the residents will tell you but I'm in town once a year so next year I will try another Italian deli until I find one to start a new tradition like my old friend for many years that is no more.
