We were invited to check out Pizza Barn. This establishment is definitely very popular. Although our arrival for dinner was quite early in the day, there was a long line to order your food. There was a bit of a wait to get to order however, with 4 servers taking orders we got it done in no time. Then we were able to go find a table and sit and wait for our dinner to be brought out. We each had a beer to drink and beer came out right away. This restaurant is lively and quite loud volume. You definitely have to talk louder so that you can all have a conversation. Soon after buffalo wings and fried pickles arrived. We were definitely enjoying our food. While waiting for the pizzas to arrive we were able to watch the football games from several large tv screens. 10 minutes later our pizzas came out. The pepperoni and green chile and 2nd pizza jalapeno ground beef and fresh sliced tomatoes were tasty. Everything came out delicious. Our visit to the Pizza Barn was great fun and tasty. read more

Had a Chiropractor appointment out in Edgewood and looking for somewhere to have lunch. I remember several people mentioning that Pizza Barn was good so we decided to give it a try and I am so happy we did. I love mom and pop shops for pizza and this one did not disappoint. The pizza was absolutely delicious and was fully loaded with toppings. The crust had a wonderful crunch to it. The whole pizza was delectable. We also shared a chef salad that didn't look too appealing in its container but to my surprise was actually very tasty and fresh. Service was nice and restaurant was comfortable. What a cool place. I saw the billboards driving down the 40 and love me a good calzone. Tried their Chiles bread sticks. The large is so big. The hot wings could be a little hotter :) but they were still pretty good. This place was pretty busy which is a good sign. Pizza on a Saturday night. Order at the counter then find a table if you can. We had an hour and a half wait as they were slammed with a full house and carry out orders for balloon fest. On a last minute whim I decided to visit my best friend in Edgewood. He told me about this place and well long story short he basically had me at pizza. Walking in I really enjoyed the layout of the place. The vibe was really chill. The staff was really friendly. Lots of seating options. Towards the back they had tvs showing sports. Not sure exactly what to expect I almost walked straight to the dining area thinking we'd order at the table. My friend quickly directed me to the register. Oops! lol I do have to say the menu was very nice. They offered a good variety for just about everyone. We settled with the Route 66 Pizza minus the olives. When it came out let me tell ya the presentation was excellent. The pizza had a great ratio of cheese and toppings. Whats funny is I almost requested extra cheese out of habit but I'm glad I didn't because the regular cheese portion was perfect. The crust had a nice crunch. The sauce combined with the crust, the cheese, and the toppings was a one way ticket to aw yeah. Each bite was savory. My only regret was eating it too fast. I mean I blinked and it was gone. FYI these guys also serve beer! Overall I had a great experience. This is the perfect joint for a Friday night/ Saturday night kickback with some friends or family. It almost reminds of the glory days of the 90s when we as a society used to go inside and sit in a pizzeria rather than just go for take out. I feel like joints like this are a rare find these days. Stopped in on our way home after a road trip. Pizza was decent--flavorful sausage but everything else pretty standard--and toppings generous. Nice soft crust and cheese pull. A bit pricier than typical in town plus a 3% fee to use cards. Customer service was friendly, especially when we ordered waters and then teas only to realize both were nasty (Edgewood water problem, not the business's fault at all). The manager refunded the difference between the teas and bottled water, which I appreciated. We'd come in again if we're in the area, but I don't think we'd make the drive up from Albuquerque just to eat. read more

Finally on our last trip I said let's grab a bite there and see how it is We went in and ordered our pizza and also the green chili cheese bread. You have to have green chilies when you're in New Mexico. They better be Hatch. When our pizza arrived it looked delicious as well as the green chili cheese bread. When we bit into the pizza both my wife and I looked at each other and almost synonymously said that is the best pizza crust I've ever had. We spoke to the team about their pizza crust. People drive all the way from Albuquerque and other far away distances to have this pizza crust. I have eaten a lot of Pizza in my day, but this was fantastic! I Lived in Sandia Park for more than 20 years and finally decided to give Pizza barn a try. I grew up in NY so I'm particular about my pizza. I ordered two 16" pies over the phone, a Supreme and Route 66. They were ready by the time I arrived about 20 minutes. The Supreme has Just the right blend of toppings, The Route 66 has just the right blend of Green Chile to compliment the onions black olives and peperoni and sausage without overpowering them. The slices cut into 16, stay intact when you pull them apart. The crust on both pies is delicious from front to back. No pizza bones. My first impression they are pretty good, comparable to Dions in town, but they're local. I will be back. read more

Traveling down Route 66 / hwy 40 and found this gem. The best pizza Ever ! We had the farmer filled with Veges and added some extra garlic & jalapeños, and it was absolutely delicious and what made it was the crust. It wasn't too thick too thin and had a perfect crunch to it. Pizza Barb is well staffed and they don not disappoint. The are quick and efficient. Their pizza is definitely one of the best in New Mexico. Since we've never been here before, I'm only guess it isn't always that busy and hectic. Order took about 40 min. But we were appropriately warned. I'm something of a pizza snob. I've worked in several shops and I've eaten a lot of pizza in a lot of places. I don't brook much crap. New Mexico is not a great place for food, frankly. We don't get much of anything fresh and unless you like chili and soap in your food you're going to be mostly disappointed trying to eat here. Edgewood is a little worse than New Mexico average. If you're here then it's certainly not for the food. Pizza Barn, however is superb! It doesn't belong in Edgewood, much less in New Mexico. By which I mean, it is a very well run shop with a fine menu, good food, easily accessible from the freeway, with excellent pizza! This place is worth driving out from Albuquerque. Seriously. This is good pizza on a NATIONAL scale. Certainly the best I've found in this state. Service isn't much, honestly. It's usually well staffed with mostly teenagers. They are generally polite and professional and they've always gotten my order right so far. But I come here for the pizza and I usually take it away with me. I do wish they had online ordering. It's sometimes a challenge to get them on a voice line. But the pizza is worth it! I often wonder why they haven't opened another shop elsewhere. read more

If I could give ZERO stars, I would. This place is a complete shit show. We came in with two adults and two kids. Ordered a large pie, two beers and two sodas. Received the salads and drinks right away and found a four person booth to sit at. Enjoyed our salads and drinks and then proceeded to wait another 40 minutes for our pizza before we asked where our order was. When we asked how much longer it would be for our pizza, they couldn't find the ticket. Another five minutes and our pie finally arrived. We were starved so dug in immediately, only to find that the pie wasn't cooked all the way. Toppings were barely cooked through and crust was gummy and obviously undercooked. When I brought the pie up to get it fixed, they couldn't find our ticket again and said they had "too many" order # 45's. (Too many #45's, What the heck!) Then when I told the person helping me, we've been waiting for over 40 minutes, they pretty much blew me off and told me that I should've asked how long the wait was, and insisted that it wasn't their job or problem to tell patrons how long the wait was. The "manager " was making pies instead of helping customers who had issues. When I asked how they were going to compensate our wait and crappy pie, the manager, who was making pizzas chimed in over the gentleman helping me saying, we're giving you a refund. I informed her that I wasn't talking to her and then the dude at the counter informed me that she was his boss. When I asked why she wasn't helping me since she was the manager, some asshole (maybe the owner) with grey hair came and got really crappy with me and basically told me that it was my job to ask how long the in house wait was, instead of them informing me, the consumer. He then proceeded to tell me that the wait the night before was over an hour. (Like I care about last night) What a load of bull crap. It's your job to let your patrons know how long the wait is if it's going to be more than a normal 15-20 minute wait for a conveyor belt pizza. Screw pizza barn. Everyone that works there is fairly nice unless you call them out. Will never be back and I would never recommend to anyone that I care about. Definitely not worth the hype. F this place, F it all to hell. Booths and tables are filthy as well and i didn't feel comfortable sitting there with my shorts on... all in all, a waste of an evening with a friend that I see very rarely. Well the last three times we've had issues with our order. They forgot chicken wings twice. Aug 6th We were at pizza Barn ten to 7pm. We waited over and hour for our pizza twice We went up to see what happened. Our was sitting in a box and our wings were probably given to someone else. Our cheese sticks weren't cut and tore while separated as well as pizza and cold in box. They seemed more concerned with closing duties. This is unacceptable customer service.
