After seeing Pizza Bella pop up in my yelp feed (huge shoutout to Joanna E. for that gorgeous photo) I knew this was a place I needed to try. Did a Friday night take out order via delivery which included a large antipasto salad and a 15" deep skillet pizza. Both were stacked with fresh ingredients, especially that pizza, tons of sausage and of course I added extra cheese. I loved their deep skillet so much! The crust was more crisp and light than any deep dish I've had before which is usually on the heavy bread side. Excellent texture. Sauce was punchy and went well with so much cheese and sausage. A must if you like deep dish. Looking forward to an in person visit. Delivery was excellent, but I can only imagine how much better it would be eating in house. Some snob on YouTube was utterly wrong about this fabulous little gem in Old Town. My wife and I wholeheartedly enjoyed this place both times we've been here. A medium size deep dish would probably be perfect for two people, a large deep dish for four or five people. In any case the cheese pull on that bad boy is amazing. If you love great toppings, crust, and cheese for days--this is your spot. The service was great, we asked for a certain beer and the (owner?) recommended a better one! We had also ordered the Kitchen Pizza (no jalapenos, just a preference for me). I was a bit reserved as "the slice" was peperoni so this was jumping all in. I was game and was not disappointed. It is a crazy mixture of toppings that just seem to contradict each other, yet just like the melting pot that America is, the flavors and contrasts all worked and nothing overwhelmed. I wish we had brought our adult kids as this would have allowed me to order family style and get lasagna, marsala, meatballs and such, sharing plates as I have absolutely no doubt that the rest of the menu is outstanding. But no need to wonder as we will be back this weekend or next to explore this menu further. I personally don't think that the location and feeling I had in this restaurant was ideal, let alone on par with the price, but to each their own. There was a decent dinner crowd at the time of eating which showed me that at least they aren't some random Italian place down the block. One complaint I had which I didn't want to call someone down for as it wasn't a big of a deal, were the inconsistencies with the prices. They were able to accommodate our big group and the service was great. We ordered: large half works/sigma-chi pizza large seafood pizza Garlic pasta with shrimp Chicken alfredo Bruschetta Everything was delicious and just the right amount of food for our group of 7. We came for vacation and I was hoping to find a pizzeria that had deep dish pizza. I was excited when we saw Pizza Bella had it! It was not a disappointment at all. Service was great! Staff seem overwhelmed, not very friendly, didn't have enough wine glasses for our table so some had to drink from beer glasses, one of which was cracked. Food is less than average, our meal included overcooked spaghetti noodles and another dish with coagulated Marsala sauce. Okay this place is very unique. Firstly let's talk about the elephant in the room. Yes they have a lot of awards. One of which is the "best pizza in America". Super bold statement to win that. The pizza pictured below is the one that won that award. Was it delicious? Yes, kinda weird too. Was it the best in America? Absolutely not. It was weird because I'm not sure how I feel about having hard carrots and broccoli on my pizza. Like if the carrots were cooked better or just leave them off? Overall the crust was absolutely perfect. The sauce was super delicious and I wish the pizza had more. It just got weird when you add the carrots and broccoli. Everything else was perfect. Now the service is so perfect! Very friendly and very fast! I would come back just to try a new pizza and enjoy the service. The biggest problem here is the parking situation. Yes they have a private lot but it is so tiny and usually full. With it being near old town, parking is extremely hard to find. We had to find parking about 5 blocks away. We came here one night at Old town and we were waiting for a table for about 2 minutes. We were given a table and we ordered drinks and food a few minutes later. It takes a little under 20 minutes to get our food. It's alright. The pasta is good but the pizza is okay. I don't understand how this got best pizza of the year. I know better pizza places. It's also really expensive so this costs like a little over a really fancy restaurants food but overall, I would recommend this to a pizza or pasta lover. Located in Old Town, Pizza Bella has been around for years but it's been some time since I dined here. I was a bit taken aback to walk in and be told by a clearly flustered waiter that it would be about 10 minutes before he could take my table even though there were ample empty tables in the restaurant. Fortunately there was a female server who was able to seat me and wait on me after a couple of minutes. Even if flustered I would not recommend that being the welcome provided to customers entering the restaurant. I let the non-welcoming initial impression pass because I have always loved their bruschetta and had a taste for it. I ordered the above mentioned bruschetta and a personal size pepperoni pizza with extra pizza sauce. As I've mentioned the Bruschetta is probably the favorite bruschetta I've had anywhere. It might not be the most authentic Italian bruschetta but it is just SO good. Everyone I have ever introduced to it has loved it. Today was no exception. The bread was perfectly toasted and the perfect amount of ingredients were used with a wonderful balsamic glaze spread beautifully across the plate. You can look at the picture to see what it looks like. The pepperoni pizza with extra sauce was good. I wouldn't say great. The pizza here has never been what I would call great and today was no different. It's good. There's plenty of cheese and ingredients. There just isn't a ton of flavor in my opinion. It's not something I would crave like I would some other pizza establishments. The other thing I would say is that their prices are a little high for what you get. An appetizer of bruschetta shouldn't cost the same as a pizza, no matter how good it is. And the personal 8" pizza started at $15.95 for only cheese with each additional ingredient bumping it up further. My waitress was pleasant and friendly and did a great job getting the food out while hot and ensuring the meal was good. I didn't catch her name. Pizza Bella has parking available in the rear of the building and they offer both indoor and patio dining. The building has shared restrooms with the other businesses. I took off a star based on the initial non-welcome, the somewhat elevated pricing and the fact that the pizza is good, not great. read more

I've been here a few times- the service is good however the food is strange. I got a veggie sandwich which was ok but the bread is so thick and just so much. My friend and I got a pizza to go with veggies- the pizza came with CARROTS on it. This is the most strange thing I've heard of. Carrots on a pizza? How odd! Had dinner here with my family during our trip this past summer. Plenty of parking in the back. We were seated right away and could pick whether we wanted to sit inside or outside. We decided to sit inside. Highchairs are available which is perfect if you have little kids. I ordered a vegetarian personal pizza and it was so yummy! The crust was delicious too which is a plus.
