I can't recommend this place more. The service is exceptional. The drinks are delicious and stiff, and the pizza is too notch. Pizza Bella is an absolute must if you're in old Town San Diego.

After seeing Pizza Bella pop up in my yelp feed (huge shoutout to Joanna E. for that gorgeous photo) I knew this was a place I needed to try. Did a Friday night take out order via delivery which included a large antipasto salad and a 15" deep skillet pizza. Both were stacked with fresh ingredients, especially that pizza, tons of sausage and of course I added extra cheese. I loved their deep skillet so much! The crust was more crisp and light than any deep dish I've had before which is usually on the heavy bread side. Excellent texture. Sauce was punchy and went well with so much cheese and sausage. A must if you like deep dish. Looking forward to an in person visit. Delivery was excellent, but I can only imagine how much better it would be eating in house. Plus I want to try their pastas and sandwiches! Bella was Bella!

Fun pizza restaurant located in Old Town with a nice outdoor patio and restrooms near by. Dogs are welcome. Service was excellent and pizza was fine.

Service was good, we sat in their courtyard and it was very nice and quiet... Sign says they had the best PIZZA IN AMERICA so we got a personal size one so everyone at the table could try it, it was decent maybe a 7/10.. We all had a pasta dish mine was a spicy, shrimp and sun-dried tomatoes (AMAZING) everyone at the table said mone was the best. We also had a Alfredo Cheese Tortellini ( Great) and my daughter is a Chicken Marcella person, this one was not good, Marcella sauce looked like THICK MUSHROOM GRAVY, you could taste the flour, it wasn't good, she only took a few bites. We also has a pesto veggies pasta (super oily) and my guest didn't even eat that as well. Overall wasn't horrible BUT 2 out 4 foor items weren't good..

I ordered a glass of wine and some cheesy bread while I waited forthe coaster. The bread was soft, made in house and had a right amount of bounce. The cheese was present but not overly gooey. The sauce was thick and had some depth in the flavor. And Lou was very friendly and welcoming. This experience let me to want to come back when I'm in the area and try the rest of the menu. *Review is for cheesy bread and service

I will start off by saying I had a slice from leftovers my wife brought home before coming here. It was very good, good enough for me to remember. Important note: Most of my recent reviews are short and sweet yet this place deserves more attention. Please read on... On our way to Bronx Pizza, one of my revolving top three pizza joints, (Pizzeria Luigi and Long Island Mikes to round out the list and give you reference) my wife and I wanted something different, and she reminded me of "the slice". So, we changed directions and headed to Old Town. First off: This is not a "pizza joint"! No, this is a Ristorante. Simply, an Italian Restaurant with one of the best pizza's I have ever had the pleasure to eat. Located in Old Town, it is unassuming and when venturing in you are welcomed by the charm and simplicity of a comfortable place you seem to have been to before. Greeted by the owner, again, non-assuming and welcoming, I even asked for a different table and was joyfully led to my table of choice. We got the Bruschetta to start, and it was, well, the first word that came to mind while biting into the warm bread and impeccable presentation was FRESH! Just a bright celebration of dressing, tomato medley, etc. ... Our table went quiet for a few moments as we both just took in the flavors. We had also ordered the Kitchen Pizza (no jalapenos, just a preference for me). I was a bit reserved as "the slice" was peperoni so this was jumping all in. I was game and was not disappointed. It is a crazy mixture of toppings that just seem to contradict each other, yet just like the melting pot that America is, the flavors and contrasts all worked and nothing overwhelmed. An Absolute masterpiece to savor. I wish we had brought our adult kids as this would have allowed me to order family style and get lasagna, marsala, meatballs and such, sharing plates as I have absolutely no doubt that the rest of the menu is outstanding. But no need to wonder as we will be back this weekend or next to explore this menu further. Finally, you have an owner who genuinely gives a damn about your opinion, preferences and overall experience. Unfortunately, this is something that I seem not to see much elsewhere. Fichissimo, Pizza Bella!!

Dried. Overcooked. Not enough anything except oven heat.

Hit or miss. How did you make a delicious savory pizza with veggie toppings and succulent crust for us last weekend. Then... Make a custom pizza today which was so overcooked. Burnt. Crust. Gross. Where is the quality control? Pride in product? I don't trust your shop.

I'm from NY. The pizza capital. This was some absolutely amazing pizza! I would def go back. I tried a basic pepperoni personal pizza. Absolutely fantastic! And don't let it fool you. I thought yall really only put 4 pepperoni slices on my personal pizza. Then I took a bit and realized it was under the cheese! The server was very attentive and friendly. The courtyard was beautiful. Highly recommend.

Though it was valentine's day, staff was friendly and prompt to attend our table. Very clean and cozy establishment. The food was amazing, I especially loved the garlic cheese bread! Food came out very fast considering it was a holiday and everyone was out with their families. Lastly, I enjoyed how attentive our waitress was, we had all of our questions about the menu answered. Bang for your buck!

The first impression was made in the parking lot. The attendant was really friendly and I think we got lucky, because we got one of the last spots. So far so good. The second impression was also made in the parking lot. It smells amazing! Moving inside, the first thing you see is a decent sized Italian Market with a lot of products and to go items. We looked around after dining and there are a lot of things you can't find in your typical grocery store. Our party of four was seated quickly and we were greeted by Lisa almost immediately. She was fast, friendly, attentive, and always nearby when needed. The dining room has a lot of character. And if you like Chianti bottles, you're in for a treat. Originally, we were thinking pizza, but ultimately, we each ordered our own entrees. Our group tried the ravioli, the meatball sandwich, the Shrimp Filippi, and I had the lasagna. I've been disappointed by lasagna at other places. Sometimes the portion is underwhelming, or it's cold in the middle. That is not the case at Filippi's! My portion was huge, piping hot, and delicious. I ate every bite. Did I mention how quickly our food arrived at the table. It was scary fast considering how good the food is. Also, they have the best garlic bread, so splurge and get some. Filippi's has been around for a long time for good reason. It's the next best thing to homemade. Thanks for a great meal! Next, we got a glass of prosecco. I told the waiter that I only like wine that tastes much more sweet then bitter or strong and he made a perfect suggestion along with giving us a sampler of 3 different wines which was so generous. I got to try them all and pick the one I liked the most, but even the samples were a generous size. For main course I got one of the current options for the cheese wheel pasta they make in front of you in cacio e pepe and my husband got the formaggi pizza with truffle mushrooms. My husband absolutely loved his pizza and the crust was one of the best he's ever had. My pasta was fresh and had a ton of sauce and cream so they didn't skimp at all. I could tell easily that they use very high quality Parmesan because i'm a Parmesan connoisseur and could taste how potent it was. They let me have as much extra as I wanted on without limiting since I enjoy a lot on it which was also a plus in my book. Next time I would get a pasta that's a little lighter, because it was a more heavy dish and it tends to make me feel pretty full after which is totally a me thing, but they have so much on the menu to try that I'm sure I'll love whatever I get even more next time. Lastly, dessert. We got a regular tiramisu and it was absolutely amazing. They put a ton of cream which is exactly what I look for. It wasn't too espresso or cocoa strong and had a perfect ratio. The cream was so light and fluffy that we had to get another one to bring home and eat tomorrow night! I had seen a previous review on here about someone not liking the tiramisu here and it not meeting their expectations for a more upscale Italian place but I've been to quite a few authentic Italian gems and this one had tiramisu up there so I'd have to disagree and completely recommend! The service was impeccable. Every waiter was kind and prompt, constantly making sure we were taken care of and getting what we needed. The atmosphere was also a plus for us because we have a 1 year old baby and there was enough room where we weren't too cramped or crowded in, and it wasn't too loud or overstimulating. The place was very clean and taken care of as well as the bathrooms. All in all, I loved this place and I will be coming back. I would definitely recommend Monello for a nice little date night, and don't forget the tiramisu.

There were pretty white tablecloths, the hostess was smiling ready to answer any questions and of course, the menu looked wonderful. Voilà! We'd found our spot. Our waiter was so personable and had all the answers to our inquiries. He suggested items and even answered honestly when needed. I got a Le Pécora Nera Sangria (fizzy blackberry with lemon). Tasty, but too many blackberry seeds coming up the straw. I'd get another one next time. For the appetizers: RISOTTO ARANCINI (a MUST get) - these were absolutely delicious. Four good size bread crumbed fried balls of risotto sitting in the restaurant's own tomato gravy. HOMEMADE FOCACCIA WITH DIPPING OIL (yes, that's the official name) - this is a basket of super soft, warm focaccia bread for a great price. I would get it no matter what main course you're getting! We didn't want to sit at a table right next to the hundreds of people walking by, I don't like that, but there are plenty other options one row in or inside the restaurant. The whole hostess staff had great smiles on their faces and they were very welcoming. After about two minutes of sitting down, our server came to ask us if we needed time to look over the menu. We said yes but that we wanted a Foccacia Bread table starter. She smiled and immediately went to put the order in. A few few minutes later she came back and we ordered our drinks for dinner: Raspberry Italian Soda, Orange Crush with Fresh Cream on top, and a non-alcoholic spritz. After we got our drinks and sip on them, it took us a bit of time to decide what we wanted. We all know that the burger here is fantastic! However, this evening, we decided to try new things. We ordered: Pappardelle Bolognese with Added Meatballs, Pappardelle Bolognese as it is normally prepared, and a Caesar salad with shrimp added. Our food was out within about 10 to 15 minutes and everything was prepared perfectly. I have to say that we really enjoyed dining in this location and we may need to come back here more instead of traveling to the Del Mar location sometimes. Our server was super customer service oriented and we appreciated her. She went above and beyond to get the orange crush drink to be unique like an Italian soda for my daughter.
