I have been eating pizza and shrimp from Pizza Castle for years. I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THERE AGAIN. Yesterday, I ordered and for a pound of shrimp, there were 6 shrimp. A LARGE pizza looked like a medium, and, maybe, five pieces of sausages on entire thing. The bill was $30.00 and money thrown down the toilet. Food was terrible and very small. The most underrated pizza place on the southwest side of Chicago. The key to the distinct flavor of their pizza? The massive old-school cast iron oven that literally takes up more than half of their space. It gives a wonderful warm and aromatic scent of the crust along with a crispy fresh texture. They even sprinkle a bit of flour to their double-dough pizzas, and it adds even more flavor. My favorite: medium double-dough well-done with sausage and mushrooms. Do it! read more

Yeah baby, love this place! It's got to be the freaking huge oven that they bake the pies in that make them taste so darn good. I love the ambience and the fact that it's a neighborhood establishment and has been here foreva! Their ingredients are legit including the love they put into each order. We ususally get a plain cheese and a sausage, mushroom onion and ask for them extra crispy. Oh yeah, I can almost taste them as I'm typing. Amazing pizza and fast service. This is in my parents neighborhood and I usually just walk in an order. My parent went to a competitor for years until I finally brought a slice home. They've been hooked since. The sauce is sweet and the crust crunchy. Homemade sausage makes each bite unique. The place is too small thought. They've been in business for years, hopefully they're able to expand or get more locations. Chicago needs to taste this flavor! read more

I grew up in this neighborhood and Pizza Castle was a staple in our house. I have to say that NOTHING compares to their pizza. They make their own sausage, which is out of this world and they have the best thin crust around, hands down. Ok, maybe I'm a bit biased since the owners were friends of the family. My dad delivered for them and my sister worked here for years, but that's besides the point. It doesn't change how good thier pizza actually is. Remember when they would give out little pieces of pizza to Halloween trick or treaters? Wonder if they still do that... Back in the day when you ordered, you always wanted your pizza made by Di. There was just something about how she made it that was so good. I believe they might have even added it to the menu (Pie by Di)? Anyhow, the place is excellent. A great family owned business that everyone should stop at if in the neighborhood. I remember getting the pizza on Halloween and if you went later in the evening you sometimes got a few extra pieces. Their pizza is by far one of the best I've ever had. They don't need to change a thing. Since leaving Evergreen Park, I don't get it as often. I'm over an hour away now. But when I'm in the area I make it a take out night and bring home a couple. Great thin crust pizza - very very tasty with good sauce and crust and ingredients. We always get sausage as at least one of the ingredients and it's great. Doesn't taste unhealthy when you eat it though either. Best pizza we've found within a couple miles radius. Doesn't have eat-in area, but has an area to sit down if you do pickup and you can watch the dudes make pizzas. read more

This has to be one of the best local pizza places around but the customer service is extremely poor and basically non-existent. I feel like just because you're food is great does not give you an excuse to be rude or not even close to polite to your customers. If you ever call don't feel bad because they just always sounds unhappy, so don't take it personal. They also hate when you keep them waiting at the door for delivery for more than 30 seconds. Last time I checked I was the customer, I shouldn't feel like I have to worry about keeping the employees happy. If you don't mind all that this place seriously has great pizza! read more

This place was my first stuffed pizza experience... years before yelp existed and let me tell you it put giordanos to shame. We ordered a medium sausage and mushroom and that bad boy was so packed we could only eat one slice.. got up the next day for the left over test and it was just as good as the first night we had it. After moving to Brighton Park from the NW side not too long ago I went into food-shock. My options were slim, and if I wanted delivery there were only a couple places. Then one day I hear about Pizza Castle and my prayers were answered. Delicious delivery pizza that stays open pretty late. I tried a couple other places first (Piazanno's , Falco's) but none of them were as good as Pizza Castle. GREAT thin crusts, they make the sausage there and it is very, very tasty. Great food, family owned and established for decades on the southwest side of Chi Town! I don't eat pizza, so why am I reviewing a pizza place? Well, first of all, everyone I know who's tried their pizza, swears by it!! In fact, I have yet to hear a negative remark fall from the mouth of an unsatisfied patron. And that's over two decades that have passed since my first being knighted by the Castle! Simply translated: 'lots of eats' with 'lots of friends' who love their pizza! And for me, with a name like Vinny, and Italian DNA flowing tru these veins, you'd think pizza and pasta would be a daily staple for me. But I am totally partial to the poultry side of a menu. In fact, the first hot wing I ever tried, came from the Castle. A group of us were chaperones for the St. Gall teen club, which was right across the street from Pizza Castle. Afterwards, we'd put an order in for pick-up. The order included a 4 piece chicken dinner for myself (which has always been delicious), while everyone else partook in the pizza, save for one of the volunteers who had instead ordered hot wings for herself. While I absolutely love many a prepared variation of chicken, I was never the saucy type. However, upon the delivery of a wing to the mouth of its proprietária, my eyes caught a glimpse of it. In what amounted to just a few partitions of a second, I noticed something very different about this hot wing: it was not saucy! I knew that further investigation was necessary, especially when my appetite began to unleash countless F-bombs at me, begging me to now taste one, while at the same time (no--I'm not hearing voices) beckoning my ego to allow my id to take the reigns on this one! And then it happened! Two wings were left, and one of them was already airborne. My eyes had followed the trajectory of this little piece of poultry heaven from bag to mouth... But wait a second.. A flight plan thwarted? Could it be me? Could it be on its way to; Me? YES!! It is heading toward the Vin. Success!!! It was as if two of 'em fat creepy looking cherubs flew down from heaven with this absolute work of art--the perfect fusion of human preparation and Mother Nature. It was only microseconds before my taste buds were gifted this piece of poultry heaven Well my friends, you'd think that one of those little freakin' flying baby cupid things shot me with an arrow; because I fell in love that day. Yep, it was so tasty, that had the military found these wings among the alien crash debris at Roswell, they'd take the wings and leave the alien bodies. And that brings me here--to the other options on their menu. Pizza Castle isn't just a pizza place that serves the limited and occasional side-order.. Nope; Pizza Castle is a pizza place that offers an extensive array of food options--all without sacrificing quality for quantity. All of their food is a gift to the palate and made fresh each day with the most important ingredient added: family pride! The courtesy of everyone working there is second to none, and it reflects the professionalism that stems from a family that truly loves what they've created. There is limited seating at Pizza Castle, but the bulk of their business comes from carryout and delivery. And about that delivery: Expect your food to arrive as if it had just come out of the oven! That's how efficient and fast the delivery personnel are. So next time you're looking for some great eats, Pizza Castle will gladly knight your appetite like they did for me! I didn't realize at first, but this was the same pizza place (in name) that I had grown up on in the '60's (it was on Ashland near 51st then), but they still had the same pizza ovens! If zero stars was an option I would give them zero stars. We ordered a pizza for delivery... they said it would be 30-45 min. Shortly after the 30 min mark passed (probably closer to 40 minutes) someone called saying they wouldn't deliver the pizza. My credit card had already been charged. We were told to come in to eat the pizza but wouldn't be compensated for the time we had already waited and the inconvenience of having to leave to go there. According to other reviews the pizza is good but from my experience the costumer service was terrible. Very disappointed. read more

Good pizza here. Tried it for the first time Saturday based on other reviews on here. They also give you a free litter of pop with your pizza. The pizza is comparable to geneos pizza which is close by. And the prices are almost the same as well. I'd come back. But the other place is easier for me to drive to from my house. read more
