The side order of mac and cheese was Kraft brand. It was priced at $4.90 pre-tax for the smallest portion that could fill only a baby's stomach. Sheesh! The pizza was good...until it wasn't. I got full pretty fast and had indigestion later. That rarely happens to me so I know something was up. The staff is sweet and the vibes are good here, so it saddens me to leave a poor review.

To begin; this is in Quechee Village next to the Quality inn. The YELP listing reads White River Junction. But WRJ is 3 miles away. So I came over for a couple grinders. 2 smalls. (6 inch) One Tuna and one Salami. I wanted a Italian but she said it was made with 2 kinds of bologna and salami. Not Italian to me. I asked for Mayo, but they put on SO much. I like Mayo and I could barely finish it. If I go again , I ll put on my own. I paid cash and it is take out only. All the dining area is closed and converted to storage. They have beer and you can buy beer to go. I had my own. Very busy location!

Stopped here after visiting Quechee Gorge and playing some mini golf behind Pizza Chef, so we all worked up an appetite. We ordered three of the large pizzas so that everyone could have some. The menu isn't just pizza - there are some other dishes and sides too. Our pizza was pretty good, very cheesy, and a tad bit greasy. It didn't take too long to be ready. They call your order and you grab your food to bring to your table. The atmosphere is very casual, you bus your own table. We got a take-out box to save our leftovers. For a casual restaurant, it was clean and neat, well maintained. Definitely good for a quick bite in the area.

Great pizza for the area that hits the spot late night. Easy for takeout with no issues .

We stayed in Quechee for the weekend and wanted a quick dinner on the Friday we arrived. Pizza and salads were pretty good.

They are doing take out only. A change since COVID. Pizza is a 6 on a scale of one to ten. Convenient location is the only plus.

Very delicious pizza :) We will be coming back if we are ever in the area. This is my preferred style of pizza: thicker, lots of cheese.

Their pasta dishes - comedically and nostalgically called "Suppa Time" - are served with homemade bread. In these current days, any bread served for free actually matters. But this bread is homemade. 2.) Their salads also come with homemade bread. 3.) All burgers, sandwiches, subs and wraps are served with chips. You can also upgrade to other sides. 4.) You can get not one but two sizes of calzones. 5.) You can also get two sizes of apps and sides: small and large sizes of wings, french fries, sweet potato fries, onion rings and homemade bread. You can choose from 9 types of salads here and 24 pizzas, not including the make-your-own pizzas. I'd love to try most all of the combinations as they look high quality and tasty. As for the calzones and strombolis, I always thought they were the same. Apparently, calzones are circular and crimped like empanadas. Strombolis are rectangular. Both are filled with toppings and cheese. Another thing I was never aware of: Buffalo mozzarella is actually made from Buffalo milk and that is the type of mozzarella they use in their pizzas here. As a foodie, I really always thought Buffalo mozzarella was named as such because it was a big ball of cheese. But it is actually Buffalo milk which they say makes the pizza more creamy. I did not notice a difference but did enjoy my slices. Cantore's Pizza has been under new ownership since Jan 2024. I enjoyed the pizza and good selection of beers and drafts. The slices combo I ate was good. I loved that it was a family atmosphere and people were friendly and festive. I love that you can sit up at the tiny bar and have a draft but shorter patrons, take note: these bar stools are tall.

Sam's is in a small plaza set back from the street. Inside you find a nice casual pizza place, as you come in you have the pizza kitchen with the large wood fired pizza oven. You can order slices or whole pies, they also have salads, wings and a couple of sandwiches. We ordered a large mushroom pizza and grabbed a table by the small bar area. The bar has beer and wine, they offer a very nice selection of local brews. After settling in the pizza showed up quickly. Sam's pizzas are thin crust, nicely cheesy and have a good basic tomato sauce. The pizza are very good with a nice balance between the yeasty crust, the pungent cheese and the slightly sweet sauce. The mushrooms were a nice touch to add some extra umami to the pie. The pizza was well cooked, although I would usually like it a bit more well done. On the table is garlic powder, hot pepper, oregano, grated cheese and even some hot honey, so you can modify your pizza to your taste. The large pie made a nice dinner split between the two of us, we each got 4 good sized slices. Sam's is a great casual pizza joint, the atmosphere is relaxed, service is quick and we even had some very good live music to compliment our meal. If you are looking to get some good pizza and some beers you can't go wrong by heading to Sam's Wood Fire Pizza.

My mother and I had such a fun dinner at Helen's Place! Glad we got there early (just after 5pm on…read morea cold and snowy Friday) because it was like watching a bird feeder with all the people zipping in and out for their take-away orders. In between, people were arriving for dinner and most opted to sit in the bar room where there is a big TV, though I never heard it. In fact, given all the people pouring in, I was surprised it wasn't louder. I spied an Absolut Citron Cosmo on the cocktail menu, and that is the official Cosmo recipe, so I was quick to order it. I was thrilled when our amazing server, Brooke, delivered not only my Cosmo to the table, but a lowball glass with the "dirty" ice the bartender had shaken the drink with and thought to send to the table with the perfectly crafted cocktail! What a great touch! I can't remember the last time I ordered a Cosmo out because I got tired of being disappointed. This one was 100% on the mark. I really want to give Brooke a shout out. I am vegetarian and she was really helpful sharing how they can customize so much of the menu. I had already seen the Impossible Burger on the menu and had my mind made up, but next time I will try the pizza (though the Impossible was perfect and piping hot!). I chose sweet potato fries as my side and they were very thick yet crispy on the outside and tender in the inside. I also ordered Sara's Choice Salad, which was red and green Little Leaf lettuce topped with sliced cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, thinly sliced red onions, blueberries, and big dollops of goat cheese. The maple balsamic vinaigrette on the side was the perfect accompaniment. The coffee is FRESH. Helen's must be one of the only places remaining that dumps coffee if it sits past a certain amount of time. My mother knows her coffee, and she commented on how good it was. The atmosphere is super casual, like a rustic family cabin. Very warm and welcoming, especially on a dark, messy night. Even the patrons were wonderful. I recommend this for a casual date night, family dinner, people of all ages, or if you just want a really good takeout meal. This is a really great local gem and I think I found my kitchen away from home.
