Met friends for lunch.... This is our first time here. It's an old house turned restaurant. Food smells from the kitchen are wonderful. They do have an outside eating area but decided to eat inside. Krystal was our server and she was very friendly & attentive. We ordered the Meat Lovers pizza and our friends ordered the lasagna & a shrimp salad. All of us enjoyed our meal. Our pizza was not very hot and requested it be heated a bit more. We usually don't like sending food back but our pizza just wasn't hot. Krystal handled the request with a smile. Quite tasty but this pizza was a thin crust, it did get a tad soggy in the middle which is why we prefer a thicker crust with a little more "chew"..... though we won't order pizza there again..... the menu had several items we would like to try so..... yes, we will give it another try. read more

First visit, very cute spot. Our server Theresa was quite nice. We asked for recommendations and probably should have taken them . I went with the idea of getting a Caesar salad with shrimp but let my husband talk me into the branzino because I love fish. So he got the Caesar salad and a pizza. Best salad in town. Lettuce was so fresh and the shaved Parmesan and croutons were to die for. His pizza was also quite good. I think it could have taken about 3-4 more minutes in the oven because the crust did have some soggy spots , but the ingredients were fresh and tasty. The branzino I did not care for. I loved the preparation, can't get enough of olives, tomatoes and capers but the fish had no acid or salt and pepper. It was drenched in olive oil which I'm not used to. The spinach was extremely bitter. I'm not sure why. But it looked beautiful. I looked at everyone else's plates and things looked delicious. I think I should have chosen what I went in for and not let my husband sway me. We will return to try other items. The owner walks around, but alas, did not come to our table. read more

Worst place ever!!!! My family and I have NEVER been treated so poorly by an establishment. My aunt has been here many times and couldn't wait to take us. When we arrived, the host wanted to seat the 3 of us at a 2 person table. It was tiny and would never give us enough room for three dishes and extras. We said we would wait. My aunt started to talk to him when I left. I came back to hear him telling a group of customers she is a "loca chica." This means "crazy lady/girl." How dare him show such disrespect!!!! When I told him he was being rude and that I knew what he said, he stated he wasn't talking to me. He shared that he was talking privately to his friends. Yes...about my elderly aunt. He went on to say I speak English and shouldn't know other languages. Disgusting! What bias! I take pride in knowing that I can communicate with people of Hispanic backgrounds. The man stalked and chased us out of the restaurant yelling at us in FRONT of his customers telling us to leave. He told us to never come back. For what? Because we asked to wait for a table? WE DID NOTHING WRONG. He gave us a table that would not fit us and we simply said we would wait. He got upset and lashed out. He had no right to call any of us loca (crazy). We were about to spend a couple of hundred dollars at his place. The absolute disrespect he showed us was unacceptable. I am so upset by my experience and had to share. A simple apology or explanation to why he got mad would have settled it. Instead, he chose to humiliate us. It was unbearable. To treat us like garbage, in front of customers, because I called him out on making fun of an elderly women (80s) was absolutely horrifying. To mock me because I am English person who knows Spanish was sickening. I am sure I am not the only customer he lost from this experience. Customers looked on at him making a spectacle of himself. Spend your hard money somewhere else where it will be appreciated. This man does not deserve the business and should be run out of town. My husband & decided to check this place out since it's not too far from us. I had higher hopes than I should have I guess. I never like to leave negative reviews so I'll start by saying the salad was delicious. We thought the wings would have a more wood oven baked flavor but not so much. Wanted to try someone local and selected this place by their reviews. Place was conveniently located downtown. I had to circle the block twice to find parallel street parking. I went back 7 mos later and it was even better. Our server, Helen, was outstanding. She was attentive but not overly so and friendly. We got the mussels as an appetizer. They came in a garlic butter sauce and were delicious. I recommend they bring a separate container for the shells. We brought our daughter this time, and she got the Cesar salad w/chicken. She said it was one of the best Cesar's she had ever had and raved about the chicken slices. We got the meat lover's pizza again. Our waiter was astute enough to recognize we were nowhere close to ordering. Finally we picked up our menus and looked them over. We decided to share a pizza. We ordered a medium sized pizza with-mozzarella, fresh tomato, garlic, mushrooms, black olives, oregano called Rustica. The pizza melted in my mouth. The mozzarella was so fresh, all of it was FRESH. The crust has a nice buttery bite. We ordered more wine, day drinking at its finest. We finished off lunch with Tiramisu. I took some home for my love it was so delish. The atmosphere was bright with natural light, lively with friends and family. It was the best kind of loudness with people laughing and making good memories. You must try it- we stopped in late one afternoon and ordered the pear and Parmesan salad, my husband got the capricciosa pizza (mozzarella, fresh tomato sauce, ham, mushrooms, olives, artichoke hearts, and basil) My salad was incredibly fresh, delicious, with very well balanced flavors. After several disappointments from various "chain" pizza companies, I was at a loss to find a decent pizza on the gulf coast. Well, I found it!! Friends mentioned that I should try Pizza Gorda in Punta Gorda so my wife and I gave it a try and were amazed at the authenticity of this restaurant. It is truly Italian cooking by Italian cooks. The pizza flour is naturally of low gluten content and a gluten-free pizza is also on the menu. The salads are fresh and the pizza is thin crust and absolutely delicious. The service is excellent but I would recommend going at off-peak hours as many are finding out about this place and seasonal traffic will make it even more challenging.
