    Missing main ingredient???

Update: Carl the manager reached out and explained the situation. The employees were new so I'll give the benefit of the doubt. He made things right and that's all anyone can ask for. I'll take back my pizza guys boycott. Pizza guys is a family favorite in my house. But every. Single. Time. We order from this location it's as if they are having a cheese shortage. I should NOT have to pay for "extra" cheese when given bread with sauce and a few pepperonis. I know times are hard but guys buy some darn cheese. Never again too many chances. BUMMER!

The food was excellent. The service was exceptional. The ambience as good as it can be for a pizza place that you walk in and walk out with and the manager Top Notch customer service.

Ordered online and picked up in the store. There was a 2 medium 2-topping pizza deal for $22. We ordered a Canadian bacon with pineapple as well as pepperoni with sausage. Both were very tasty. We were too hungry to take the pic beforehand. Halfway through, remembered to snap one. Service at the store was good today. Parking can be tough when post office is open. They have rewards program and free 2 liter with $25 spend (excluding BOGO offers).

Build your own large pizza. Thin crust with cheese, mushrooms, and black olives. Hardly any cheese, just at the end of each piece.

The pizza had hardly any cheese. We ordered thin crust with cheese, black olives, and mushrooms. Lots of sauce. Very little cheese. Every few years we try Pizza Guys. Every few years we are disappointed. What you see in the picture seems to be crust "bubbling" or rising and just sauce. That actually are "bare" portions of the pizza with just sauce. No cheese. No mushrooms. No black olives. Lots and lots of sauce. $33.00 wasted. Delivery order. Done with this pizza place, again. Maybe we will try Domino's! Update: for those of you who read the response below from the owner, and might think he refunded us, let us tell you nothing occurred. The owner did nothing whatsoever. We responded with the information asked for. Everything but our phone number. We hope that their quality improves for those of you that choose to place an order.

Never again!!! You guys are greedy as hell , how do you just put 1 mushroom on each slice and 1 piece of pineapple on each slice .. Get real

10/27/2023- First time to order a pizza and have it delivered. For many years in the past, we used to order pizzas for our judo tournaments held at Crc. We always sold out the first few hours.. and the pizza was really good..and they always arrived promptly.. Since we had a big lunch, and it was late for dinner, decided to give it a shot.. Ordered a large with pepperoni, sausage and salami. Also ordered the garden salad. Kind of bummed because I wanted to be able to do my check in to get the ice cream lol.. Delivery time with DoorDash was a bit longer, and the driver had a previous stop. Pizza and salad delivered.. ! Minus one star because the pizza was not hot but not cold.. Satisfying.. and would go in next time.. to get the ice cream!

It's family-owned, and it was so nice seeing the whole family working together. Everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The restaurant itself is so cute and cozy, making it feel like the perfect little neighborhood spot for a relaxing dinner. And the food was absolutely delicious! I had the lamb with potatoes and asparagus, and it was so flavorful and perfectly prepared. My husband had the sea bass with linguine, which he really enjoyed. We also shared a linguine with half Alfredo and half tomato sauce, topped with extra Parmesan cheese--and it was SO good! That combination was definitely a favorite. Palermo doesn't look like much from the outside, but you can feel the love that went into this place on the inside. From being greeted by the Sicilian owner at the front to the super friendly servers and other staff, you just feel so welcome from the start. There is a full cocktail menu and full service bar to star things off, and a few house specials. I got the West Coast Colada, which is a very pineapple-forward, simple rum cocktail without the coconut side of the class drink. It was lovely, if not a little on the weak side alcohol wise. Every dish we ordered was fantastic (shout out to the minestrone soup), but the star of the show was the lasagna. I was wondering why the lasagna was a $45 dish until i saw it delivered to nearby tables and my mouth dropped. This single slice of lasagna could feed 4 people (or more) and consists of a couple DOZEN layers of noodles. It was the best, and biggest lasagnas I've ever had, and I'm still eating it 4 days later! The desserts were also absolutely delicious, with a very creamy take on tiramisu, and a very well-named "temptation" chocolate cake. The cherry on top of dessert was when the owner came and chatted with us about the origins of the lasagna and the restaurant. Just a lovely Italian man with a passion for food that somehow landed him in Elk Grove of all places! We will absolutely be returning. I mean heck, $45 for a week's worth of delicious lasagna ain't a bad deal!

Server gave us the bill, upon review, we noticed a "1/2 Caesar Salad" and a corresponding $13 charge, not $5... Certainly NOT what we ordered . We explained to the Server the error and she apologized, said the bill will be corrected. Upon the Server's return, she said she was sorry and informed us we ordered the Caesar, not the regular $5 salad. Really? Instead of correcting their mistake, we now found ourselves having to explain to the Server, twice what actually happened while she took our order, I pointed out to their menu and I said "we wanted to add the $5.00 salad". That was it! We never asked for the Caesar, and specially a "half-order". The Server emphatically refused to correct the mistake. Obviously her decision would have never be my choice, had I been the Server, or the owner of the restaurant. We hate giving bad reviews, but being unnecessarily placed in this awkward position we did not appreciate it.

With that context, we don't take Italian food lightly. That's exactly why Ippolito's Trattoria stands out. Nick, the owner, is there seven days a week. Whether he's running the kitchen like a true master or walking the dining room checking in with guests, his presence is constant. His wife is often by his side, and together they've built something that feels less like a restaurant and more like a family. The staff reflects that--welcoming, attentive, and genuinely warm. Now, the food. The chicken parmigiana is massive--easily two meals--and executed perfectly. The chicken is tender, well-seasoned, and balanced. We usually start with calamari or a shared salad, both consistently excellent. I'm especially particular about carbonara, and this is the only place in Sacramento that truly gets it right. No shortcuts. No cream. No smoked bacon. They respect the tradition--using proper ingredients like guanciale or pancetta and incorporating the egg the way it's meant to be. It's easily the best carbonara I've had in years. The arancini are another highlight. If you've ever made them at home, you know the effort involved--this is the real deal. Crispy outside, rich and flavorful inside, and absolutely authentic. The bread is baked fresh daily by Nick, and it shows. The pasta is artisan-quality, also made fresh, and sourced from a trusted local partner. Every detail reflects care and intention. Dessert is not an afterthought here. The tiramisu--made in-house--is flawless. And the cannoli? Outstanding. The shells have the perfect crunch, and the fillings are rich without being overpowering. Even the pizzelle cookies are done right. It's no surprise they've earned recognition, including: Best Italian Restaurant in Sacramento Best Restaurant Overall in Sacramento Beyond the food, Nick is active in the community and gives back, which only adds to the experience. We've enjoyed this place so much that we've chosen them to cater my 60th birthday for 20 very discerning Italian family members--many of whom we've already brought here, all with the same glowing reactions. If there's any criticism to address, it's usually from people saying the food isn't salty or herb-heavy enough. That misses the point. This is balanced, authentic cooking--where ingredients shine without being masked. I've been to Papa Gianni's in Cameron Park dozens of times over the years, and it's a great spot. But when it comes to the Sacramento region, Ippolito's Trattoria is my go-to, without question.

There are some patio seating in addition to the indoor tables and the bar. Nevertheless, it didn't seem to be an incredibly long wait for our food. We ordered the orchiette con salsiccia, which seems to be on the menu often. One of my favorite things to order. The sausage is cooked perfectly and has good flavor and I love the broccoli rabe and pasta texture. It's not a very saucy dish but full of flavor. We also tried the fregoli e gamberi. Again, not saucy, but great flavor. The shrimps were cooked really well and had great salinity and spice.

Other than the wait, the waiter and waitress were lovely and attentive through the meal. Our appetizer (asparagus & burrata, with prosciutto) did arrive quickly. It was tasty, though two of us found the burrata cheese quite salty, and the asparagus was a bit chewier than I expected. The Torchio e Granchio stole the night; the Dungeness crab meat was excellent and tasted fresh, and matched the cream sauce well (which I normally don't like to eat, but was great with the crab). The beef and pork meatballs were sizeable, which was appreciated; we found them a bit over-flavored however (particularly with oregano), and the sauce-to-meat proportions was a bit much (way too much sauce for the amount of pasta and meatballs for our taste). I found the Orecchiette con Salsiccia to be wwayyy more spicey than the Fregola e Gamberi. Though on the menu they both have one chili sign beside them, I could barely taste any spice in the Fegola e Gamberi, but in the end I picked out a small pile of chili pepper bits from the Orecchiette, which even after doing so my mouth still burned through the meal. They definitely need to add an extra chili next to this dish in the menu.
