    Garlic Mizithra, soooo delicious
    Gina S.

It had been several years since I've eaten at this restaurant and honestly I thoroughly enjoyed our meal! We showed up at about 6:00 pm on a Friday night and we were seated right away in a cozy booth. Our waiter was great, he was still fairly new and gave us a warning but he was great and so friendly. Wish I remember his name! The garlic cheese bread was ah-mazing!! It was super garlic and cheesy and came with a delicious marinara sauce dip it in. We tried so hard not to eat it all before our meal came lol. The dinner salad was good and fresh and I remembered how much I love the pesto ranch that came on it. My husband had the lasagna and I had the Garlic Mizithra which is Spaghetti with Mizithra Cheese & Browned Butter, garlic, bacon, and mushrooms. I enjoyed my meal soooo much. Even though the sauce is made with butter, it still is very light and goes down so easy. My husband's lasagna was also very good and we had plenty of leftovers for lunch the next day. We of course, ended it with the spumoni ice cream that is included with the meal and honestly one of my favorite ways to end the meal. I don't think I will wait so long to go back.!

A solid option for a no frills 3 course meal that is extremely carb heavy. I think most have heard of or have been to the Old Spaghetti Factory. It serves as a staple in some cuisines and does have reliability and big restaurant chain energy. The staff is always very friendly and accommodating. Most meals are around $20-25 but come with a choice of minestrone soup or salad with choice of dressing. They do serve fresh bread with butter which is seemingly unlimited. It comes out hot and fresh every time. You also get a choice of spumoni or vanilla ice cream for dessert. I ordered the pot pourri which was 4 different sauces that they already serve - marinara, meat, clam, and mizithra cheese. All four were great and what you expect. I think the clam was a stand out to me because of the depth of flavor and slight spice. The chicken parmesan that my partnered ordered was subpar. He will definitely stick to pasta next time. We also had a side of broccoli with mizithra and it was delicious but extremely salty because of the cheese. The ice creams, salads, and soups were as expected.

Decent food. I mean it's pasta, it's really hard to mess up. With that being said, my wife got the half and half and it's just all pasta. For a couple bucks more you can get a couple meatballs and sausage. So value is a 3. The waitress who was also like a hostess? She was nice, attended to us quickly. I haven't been inside in over 20 years. It's decent. I wouldn't say it's great.

Still delivering our old school favorites! We love their managers' special, meat a sauce and mizithra. Meat and clam sauce too! We got their spinach tortellini and lobster ravioli. This location is much smaller and lower ceiling than the downtown location but same good food!

Service is still crappy. Came this time as a party of 3. We were seated in booth facing the bar. Drinks took 15 minutes, bread followed 10 minutes later. We had to constantly ask the bartender for refills because our waitress was nowhere to be found. Asked for boxes and again took 15 minutes for boxes!! She dropped off the check and again after 15 minutes never returned so we had to once again ask the bartend to close out our check. And granted, not busy at all so I'm convinced that's not her normal section and she just forgot about us because that spot is pretty out the way. Food however was as it always is, just meh. I did notice they started skimping on their sauces which makes the pasta a tad dry now. Then they up-charging $1.50 for extra sauce.

Yay! Your 5 stars are back! We were able to make reservations & walk right in. It was very busy! Our food & service were outstanding. LEON our server deserves a raise! He was so attentive, friendly & professional. All of our food came out fast, fresh & hot. I was celebrating my birthday & you guys did not disappoint. The restaurant always has a good vibe.

We come to this location regularly and always receive great consistent service. I do typically make reservations for a table on the app in advance and am seated almost immediately when we arrive. I highly recommend getting the app to make reservations and earn rewards! There is a "train" in the middle of the restaurant but it's more of a fabricated one, which is good for accessible seating if needed. There are not a lot of tables within the train, but it does have two half circle booths, two small 2 person tables, and two standard booths. My kids love the Mac and cheese kids meals, which come with either soup/salad/applesauce and ice cream. We regularly order the Meat Lovers Treat and Alfredo dishes. The broccoli with mizithra cheese on top is a great side to share.

Managers Choice with mushroom sauce and Mizithra cheese and brown butter

I enjoyed a great dinner tonight at the Old a Spaghetti Factory on Laguna Blvd. We were fortunate to be seated in the train where it felt so nice and cozy. I loved it. It was also their 57th Anniversary period with rollback prices for there classic dishes (until 1/31/26, and the dishes were very good. I had the manager's choice, with 2 sauces, and chose the mushroom sauce and mizithra cheese with brown butter. My daughter had the meat sauce and my granddaughter enjoyed the child's fettuccine. They were all accompanied with fresh salad or soup, French bread roll with garlic butter, and spumoni or vanilla ice cream. We also ordered the cheese bread which is so rich on cheese but i forgot to take a photo. Our server, Kris was excellent. He was so nice and very efficient. We really enjoyed having him as our server. It was a great meal with roll back prices!

The food here is always delicious. They serve Italian American food in a cozy restaurant. The food and place get 4 stars. The service gets 3 stars. My husband and I came here for lunch. The service was decent. The workers are polite, however, they checked in on us after long periods of waiting. We don't want or expect servers/ hosts to be with us frequently, but they could have been better. We saw a lot of standing and chitchatting among some workers. There weren't a lot of customers when we went here. We had a host seat us after waiting for 10 minutes. It took another 15-20 minutes before someone took our order. All in all, it was a good experience. However, we have had much better service at other establishments.

Update: It was the weekend, and we were too tired to cook at home. Decided to order take out. I ordered online, that was simple enough. The task was easy, easy to use. We decided to pick up the food, since it wasn't too far away from where we lived. You go the bar area for to go orders. I got my food and headed to the car. In the car, I decided to check to see if everything was in the bag. We order three entrees, soups, bread, dessert and a side of cheese bread. Everything was there, except one soup and a loaf of bread. I was too tired to go back in the restaurant and did not have the mind set to deal with it. It was just one soup and bread; I will not have any. I order spaghetti with clam sauce. It is usually one of my favorites. The pasta tasted bland and it did not have enough sauce. I was so disappointed. I was looking forward to it. The raviolis were kind of mushy too. That was not good. My husband's chicken fettuccini was good. One out of three. I've been coming to the factory for years. We stopped coming here a few years ago, as things were not good. Gave them a try again, still not good. I guess we won't be coming again.

Tried their Pasta Classic - Mizithra cheese and browned butter. It is rich, cheesy, and full of flavor. The nutty taste of the browned butter combined with the salty Mizithra cheese makes it simple but incredibly satisfying. It's definitely my go-to order next time. I also tried the Meat Lover's treat, which comes with meatball, sausage, and meat sauce. It tasted ok. Can order if you're craving something meaty. However, I still prefer the cheesy pasta. Another great thing is that the meal comes complete with bread, soup or salad, and dessert. It's such a great value. Overall, a cozy place with generous portions and classic comfort food.

Everytime we would pass by here, I would hope we could find the time to stop by and eat. I had high expectations. The interior is lovely, and the trolley gave a nice touch. But I did not enjoy the food as much as I enjoyed the decor and that warm feeling from their staff. I felt like my order, the rich meaty spaghetti was quite lacking in taste, I was hoping for that sweet-tangy taste from a real tomato that I did not find. I also felt it could use more meat. The Garlic Mizithra and fettucine was salty. The cheesy bread is what I enjoyed a lot. I do appreciate that the pasta come with soup or salad, and an ice cream.

Came in here the lady at the front was not friendly at all. Did not greet us and when she left she just stood there and watch us walk out without saying a word . We were seated in a quiet spot. I had a coupon so that was the reason I was here without it I wouldn't come here . The price is good considering it comes with either minestrone soup or salad , bread with butter and a pasta. For around 20 ish dollars. I ordered the soup instead of the salad. It wasn't bad I would order it again. The coupon was for a classic pasta so I chose the managers special which was half and half. Most of the item in that section didn't include meat. So I chose two that came with meat which was meat sauce and the spicy spaghetti. The marinara sauce wasrunny. When I lifted my noodles to mix it was all watery. You can barely taste any meat in the meat sauce . I think I make better spaghetti sauce at home . The waiter just dropped it off and dashed right away. I couldn't even ask for freshly grated Parmesan . My boyfriend ordered the spinach cheese ravioli with marinara sauce . The sauce was also runny. For dessert we had the spumoni which is so good hence the reason for stars .without it I would rate this place a two star. The waiter did not ask if everything is ok. I had to flag him down for extra refill for the soda. Even when he brought out the food he didn't ask if we wanted more soda. When he came back with a new cup of soda he just left the empty soda cup in the table .

Palermo doesn't look like much from the outside, but you can feel the love that went into this place on the inside. From being greeted by the Sicilian owner at the front to the super friendly servers and other staff, you just feel so welcome from the start. There is a full cocktail menu and full service bar to star things off, and a few house specials. I got the West Coast Colada, which is a very pineapple-forward, simple rum cocktail without the coconut side of the class drink. It was lovely, if not a little on the weak side alcohol wise. Every dish we ordered was fantastic (shout out to the minestrone soup), but the star of the show was the lasagna. I was wondering why the lasagna was a $45 dish until i saw it delivered to nearby tables and my mouth dropped. This single slice of lasagna could feed 4 people (or more) and consists of a couple DOZEN layers of noodles. It was the best, and biggest lasagnas I've ever had, and I'm still eating it 4 days later! The desserts were also absolutely delicious, with a very creamy take on tiramisu, and a very well-named "temptation" chocolate cake. The cherry on top of dessert was when the owner came and chatted with us about the origins of the lasagna and the restaurant. Just a lovely Italian man with a passion for food that somehow landed him in Elk Grove of all places! We will absolutely be returning. I mean heck, $45 for a week's worth of delicious lasagna ain't a bad deal!

With that context, we don't take Italian food lightly. That's exactly why Ippolito's Trattoria stands out. Nick, the owner, is there seven days a week. Whether he's running the kitchen like a true master or walking the dining room checking in with guests, his presence is constant. His wife is often by his side, and together they've built something that feels less like a restaurant and more like a family. The staff reflects that--welcoming, attentive, and genuinely warm. Now, the food. The chicken parmigiana is massive--easily two meals--and executed perfectly. The chicken is tender, well-seasoned, and balanced. We usually start with calamari or a shared salad, both consistently excellent. I'm especially particular about carbonara, and this is the only place in Sacramento that truly gets it right. No shortcuts. No cream. No smoked bacon. They respect the tradition--using proper ingredients like guanciale or pancetta and incorporating the egg the way it's meant to be. It's easily the best carbonara I've had in years. The arancini are another highlight. If you've ever made them at home, you know the effort involved--this is the real deal. Crispy outside, rich and flavorful inside, and absolutely authentic. The bread is baked fresh daily by Nick, and it shows. The pasta is artisan-quality, also made fresh, and sourced from a trusted local partner. Every detail reflects care and intention. Dessert is not an afterthought here. The tiramisu--made in-house--is flawless. And the cannoli? Outstanding. The shells have the perfect crunch, and the fillings are rich without being overpowering. Even the pizzelle cookies are done right. It's no surprise they've earned recognition, including: Best Italian Restaurant in Sacramento Best Restaurant Overall in Sacramento Beyond the food, Nick is active in the community and gives back, which only adds to the experience. We've enjoyed this place so much that we've chosen them to cater my 60th birthday for 20 very discerning Italian family members--many of whom we've already brought here, all with the same glowing reactions. If there's any criticism to address, it's usually from people saying the food isn't salty or herb-heavy enough. That misses the point. This is balanced, authentic cooking--where ingredients shine without being masked. I've been to Papa Gianni's in Cameron Park dozens of times over the years, and it's a great spot. But when it comes to the Sacramento region, Ippolito's Trattoria is my go-to, without question.

We went out for girls night here and had a good time! I felt…read morethat they were pretty handicap accessible, had big portions, with a good wine and beer list. The noise was a bit loud and the decor seemed a little dated. Overall the pros outweigh these, the service was solid, and we had a fun! 1. Parking Parking lot with 2 handicap spots. Also easy walkway from the handicap spots into the restaurant. Easy to pull into from the street if coming from 99. I would suggest not trying to back out to the street when leaving however and instead we went through the parking lot, made a left at the ally and from there make a turn from the stop sign at Main Street. 2. Menu: Every thing we ordered was delicious. They had a large wine and beer menu. The blonde beer was ice cold and light for a summer drink. The house red was pretty mellow and very full bodied. The Sauvignon Blanc wasn't too sweet and had a hint of vanilla. The portion sizes of the meals were huge. None of could finish our plates! The bread is extra at 6 dollars, but worth it mainly due to the garlic/chive butter with it. We also ordered the fried zucchini as an appetizer - it was hot and crispy. The zucchini and breading were not soggy at all, and the breading stuck perfectly (these are common issues I've had at other places with fried zucchini) The ribeye was cooked perfectly and was incredibly tender. My friend pointed out that this was a very large piece a bit on the thinner side- they may have pounded it out to tenderize it is our guess. The farmer special was our favorite. It was a braised short rib and you could order it with pasta however we did it with the polenta. It was so very tender and savory. Came with a lot of polenta and it was very cheesy with Parmesan. The linguine and clams had both shelled and unshelled clams. I felt that there could have been more meat for the clam to pasta ratio. It was full of garlic and the cream sauce was zesty. 3. Atmosphere: It's a decent sized building, with a nice big bar in the front a smaller room to the left and a larger room in the back. There was plenty of seating for if you needed to wait. The walkways were wide and it was easy to move around, so no issues using a walker here and I would guess a wheelchair should be fine. The backroom had big booth seats, and would probably be good for large groups and families. The decor seemed a little dated and there was a jukebox in the smaller room, which although we were seated in the back was very loud and at the beginning of our experience it was hard to hear each other and was distracting. During this time the music kept switching songs every 10 to 30 seconds. I inquired why, and every Tuesday night they do "Music Bingo". So that could be a plus for some people, who want a more laid back atmosphere and enjoy a community game! The people in the front of the restaurant seemed to really enjoy it! However I would say if you are planning a quiet evening out or a first time date, you may want to come any other night but Tuesday. 4. Service: All our food and drinks come out in an appropriate time. Drinks were cold and food was hot! Our server made sure we had everything we needed and the manager even come by to check on us. I do love the brick building and how it's on old Elk Grove. We will be back!

It's in the corner of a strip mall and has a lot of parking and we found a spot close to the entrance. No reservation. Not to sure they take them. We were at an early dinner around 5PM and not to busy here. We were seated right away. Our server came over and took our drink orders. When she came back she took our orders. The wife got the fettuccini and added mushrooms. She got a soup with it. I ordered the soup and salad which they are famous for. I started out with the Zuppa and I always liked it. It was the same and good. I was disappointed that they didn't have a variety of salads like BJ's does. Only one salad with a variety of topping. Tomatoes, olives , crotons, mushrooms and some carrots. it was fine but a variety would be better. I know they want to save money. The combo was $16 bucks. I got the gnocchi next and it was good too. I don't eat as much as before so I didn't think I got my moneys worth out of it like back in the day but at least it's healthy. There are not any good salad places here in Elk Grove. Jacks is just ok. Still not a bad deal for dinner here. My wife was reading the menu more and it looked like we could of got an entree and got unlimted soup and salad too. It would of saved us even more . we will have to explore that next time. Got to save the most money now a days. It seemed the service was just ok. The bread was being baked and came out after we had gotten our meals. It's supposed to come out first. It was kind of slow and I had to ask for things from the waitress most of the time.

She loved her desert of ciambella while I savored bomboloni. The staff assisted us perfectly with helpful suggestions and prompt attention. The only minor concern was excess noise on the patio. We got the three course option: antipasti, an entree and dessert. I picked the porchetta tonnato ( pork belly salad) for the antipasti, scallop for entree and ciambella for dessert. They also brought out palate cleansers and complimentary prosecco for our anniversary which was so appreciated. The scallop was the most tender scallop I've ever tasted, it just melts in your mouth and perfectly seared. The ciambella has limocrllo macaropone, so soft and not overly sweet on a layer of olive oil cake. Reservations are a must. I booked a week before hand and there were limited availability. I would definitely come back for a special occasion! The parking lot is TINY but there are plenty of street parking.

A very small quaint restaurant with high quality ingredients and a cozy ambiance. A husband and wife run this place with a few staff and it is packed almost every night. I'd recommend making a reservation. They even recommended an appetizer because "there's only one chef and he's working on 31 plates". There are some patio seating in addition to the indoor tables and the bar. Nevertheless, it didn't seem to be an incredibly long wait for our food. We ordered the orchiette con salsiccia, which seems to be on the menu often. One of my favorite things to order. The sausage is cooked perfectly and has good flavor and I love the broccoli rabe and pasta texture. It's not a very saucy dish but full of flavor. We also tried the fregoli e gamberi. Again, not saucy, but great flavor. The shrimps were cooked really well and had great salinity and spice.

Other than the wait, the waiter and waitress were lovely and attentive through the meal. Our appetizer (asparagus & burrata, with prosciutto) did arrive quickly. It was tasty, though two of us found the burrata cheese quite salty, and the asparagus was a bit chewier than I expected. The Torchio e Granchio stole the night; the Dungeness crab meat was excellent and tasted fresh, and matched the cream sauce well (which I normally don't like to eat, but was great with the crab). The beef and pork meatballs were sizeable, which was appreciated; we found them a bit over-flavored however (particularly with oregano), and the sauce-to-meat proportions was a bit much (way too much sauce for the amount of pasta and meatballs for our taste). I found the Orecchiette con Salsiccia to be wwayyy more spicey than the Fregola e Gamberi. Though on the menu they both have one chili sign beside them, I could barely taste any spice in the Fegola e Gamberi, but in the end I picked out a small pile of chili pepper bits from the Orecchiette, which even after doing so my mouth still burned through the meal. They definitely need to add an extra chili next to this dish in the menu.

It is a small establishment, but that didn't factor in with how well they treat their costumers. From the moment we walked in, we felt cozy. Focaccia bread is given when seated. Nice, fluffy, and warm. The staff is attentive and helped narrow down our decisions. Our starter was the calamari. Served with a nice cocktail and tartar sauce. The calamari was so crispy and not chewy. For our entrees, we ended up with chicken parm and and the classic lasagna. The sauces and noodles are all homemade, which made everything much more delightful. Everything was melt in your mouth delicious. The chicken for the chicken parm with so crispy and juicy and the lasagna was so soft and flavorful. ( kitchen staff also asked if we wanted to try their spicy sauce. There was ample parking in the industrial parking lot and a steady flow of customers but they did a good job turning the tables over quickly. And the food was some of the best Italian I have had. To start, my dad and I split an order of the calamari, which was perfectly tender and breaded to perfection. We also each tried the minestrone soup that accompanied our entrées. The minestrone had great flavor and plenty of fresh vegetables. I ordered the gnocchi with chicken and pink sauce while my dad ordered the chicken Parmesan. He really wanted to try their lasagna but they were sold out by the time we got there. The gnocchi was cooked to perfection (aka not mushy) and the pink sauce had great flavor to it. My dad thoroughly enjoyed the chicken Parmesan and had plenty leftover for a second meal. So if you find yourself passing through the area, looking for some hearty and delicious Italian food, come check out Pastosa by Lucia.
