Garlic bread

Wow. We drove from 35 minutes away to try a new place and we were blown away. The food is impeccable. Our party of 6 has the pesto pasta, the short ribs with polenta, prime rib, and appetizers. We also ordered sides of mashed potatoes (eh) and pesto pasta (AMAZING). The portions were generous and every one of us had to get a to-go box. We were stuffed but equally happy that we ordered dessert anyway. The bread pudding was our favorite but the apple crisp was also stellar. Kind of a steakhouse vibe but also casual dining. We enjoyed the ambiance and service. The manager Chris came around and checked on us in addition to our server. We will be telling friends about this find and we will be back!

In the area for a ProbPickleball Tournament and staying in Elk Grove with family. Decided to go out for a birthday dinner with husband. We ordered full rack of ribs and vegetable side and bread to share. The ribs were fairly good with a mustard sauce and bbq sauce to add. The vegetables were tasty and between ribs and veggies we had more than enough food. The server was efficient and brought our meal out hot. Ambiance had not changed much from years ago. They have a parking area next to restaurant which is convenient in Old town.

I recently had an amazing dining experience that I just have to share! The food was delicious and came out surprisingly fast. Everything was served piping hot and tasted incredibly fresh, which really made the meal enjoyable. What stood out to me even more was the customer service. The manager, Chris, was not only helpful but also very sweet, making sure we had everything we needed. I left feeling really satisfied and couldn't wait to tell my friends and family about it. I will definitely be recommending this place to everyone I know!

We found this place and it looked pretty good. We got there and had to wait about 10 minutes. The place was pretty busy around the bar area. They sat us in the back restaurant where it was much quieter. The waitress was great. Grabbed our drink order right away and then came back and took our food order. I got an old fashioned and I gotta say. They can make some good ones. I ordered the filet mignon and it was absolutely cooked perfect. Their mashed potato's is a huge portion and very tasty as well.

Husband brought us here to celebrate my birthday. The have the bar area in front with the dining room area in the back with cozy booths with a nice ambiance. We had the farmer's special with polenta, the prime rib, pappardelle pasta, the fried calamari, and vegetable side. It was our first time here, and everything was amazing! Polenta was super creamy and well balanced with the meat. Husband loved the prime rib and horseradish. We both agreed though our favorite dish was the pasta! Great service too! JJ was our server, and the manager, Chris as well checked in on every table to make sure everyone was having a good experience. When Chris heard it was my birthday, he also had a cheesecake included on the house too. We'll definitely plan to come back again in the near future!

I haven't been to Brick House Restaurant in a few years, 4-5 years. For appearance sake it's the same. Brick building, older vintage vibes, nice interior, great parking and I love the talking security cameras and signs posted in the lot. I opted to sit in the bar and watch football, 49er's vs Sea Hawks. There was a group of men and two women there drinking and a collaborating about something, maybe fantasy football, IDK. They were a bit spicy but the bar wait staff handled it; they are on top of it which I appreciate. I was greeted immediately by a hostess offered dining room or bar seating; I chose a pub table in the car. The bar staff were very friendly and welcoming, attentive and represented the restaurant bar professionally. Big plus! I had hot, fresh baked bread served with garlic butter, olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Delish! My main course was Beef Stroganoff, also excellent. Diet Pepsi was my beverage; bar staff kept my glass full and checked on me regularly. It was an excellent meal: hot, fresh and flavorful, huge portion with leftovers for lunch tomorrow. The meat beef was amazing. If you want soup or salad it's extra as was the bread. The meal plus a good tip seemed pricy especially for one person. But the cost of everything has gone up and I haven't been out for fine dining in sometime. I like to treat myself well, and this dinner was delicious and exactly what I needed. Big kudos, again, for customer service from Tahnee (sp?) and Melissa.

Came here tonight for a Friendsmas Gathering for 6. They sat us in the front for the main dining space was reserved for a private party. We actually really loved where we were seated - by the decorated window, Christmas tree and had a spacious table and comfortable chairs. We ordered a the Calamari, Fried Zucchini, Meatballs, House Salad, Seafood Pasta, Loaf of bread with the trimmings. We ordered the lemon drop, some blood orange drink, and beer. Everything was on point :) we really enjoyed the Pesto Seafood Pasta and will highly recommend this dish. The sauce was perfection. Desserts were also yummy. We had the tiramisu and some kind of pie that was just heavenly Service was excellent and our was host - Lane (excuse the spelling) . She was attentive, kind and super sweet. She checked on us often but also allowed us space to do our mini table games and gift exchange. Thank you so much Brickhouse Staff for having us. Will definitely come again!

Pancetta Fries, so cheesy!
Gina S.

My husband and I decided to come to Brick House for happy hour and I was super pleased with our appetizers and wine. We had the Pancetta Fries with Gorgonzola cheese which were amazingly delicious. The serving was huge! The potatoes had a nice crispness and they were oh so cheesy! Very rich and filling. Since we are cheese people, we also ordered the burrata bowl which was also very good. The burrata cheese melted in your mouth! It included grape tomatoes halved with Kalamata olives and capers so it had a nice brininess but was balanced with some balsamic glaze. Paired with toasted bread it came with, reminded me of a bruschetta dish. This all paired nicely with a glass of Sangiovese wine. The bartenders were all very friendly and I loved the feel of the bar. It was nice to have choices of high bar tables or the bar. Lots of locals in here so you know it's a good place!

Girls dinner special and it came with a cocktail! We got the espresso martini!

Our first time at Brick House and definitely not our last! The manager, Mr. Chris Martin, was so kind and incredibly helpful -- you can tell he truly cares about his guests. The entire staff went above and beyond to stop by and say hello and make us feel welcomed, which really made the experience special. We also really enjoyed the girls' $29 dinner -- the portion was perfect, the price was right, and honestly, it was too good to pass up. Great service, great value, and such a warm, welcoming atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!

Calimari
Patty D.

The food was fresh and delicious. I would have preferred the filet mignon to be more rare, but I'm assuming the kitchen just makes it a certain way, because the bartender didn't ask how I wanted it cooked when I ordered. The calamari was crunchy and on point. Monterey calamari was a special treat. The bartender was attentive, and informed me on the happy hour deals. The building is beautiful. Looks like a historic brick structure, and the wall art and decor was nice. It was clean, but I was not there while it was packed.

Brought my mom here for her birthday and she loved it. The restaurant is really cute and has a vintage feel to it. They had a lot of good options on the menu, we came with a party of 5 and everyone found something that they enjoyed. We came on a busy evening so the service was a little slow but our waiter was nice. The food came out hot and the presentation was nice. We will definitely be coming back for dinner.

We explained to the Server the error and she apologized, said the bill will be corrected. Upon the Server's return, she said she was sorry and informed us we ordered the Caesar, not the regular $5 salad. Really? Instead of correcting their mistake, we now found ourselves having to explain to the Server, twice what actually happened while she took our order, I pointed out to their menu and I said "we wanted to add the $5.00 salad". That was it! We never asked for the Caesar, and specially a "half-order". The Server emphatically refused to correct the mistake. Obviously her decision would have never be my choice, had I been the Server, or the owner of the restaurant. We hate giving bad reviews, but being unnecessarily placed in this awkward position we did not appreciate it.

With that context, we don't take Italian food lightly. That's exactly why Ippolito's Trattoria stands out. Nick, the owner, is there seven days a week. Whether he's running the kitchen like a true master or walking the dining room checking in with guests, his presence is constant. His wife is often by his side, and together they've built something that feels less like a restaurant and more like a family. The staff reflects that--welcoming, attentive, and genuinely warm. Now, the food. The chicken parmigiana is massive--easily two meals--and executed perfectly. The chicken is tender, well-seasoned, and balanced. We usually start with calamari or a shared salad, both consistently excellent. I'm especially particular about carbonara, and this is the only place in Sacramento that truly gets it right. No shortcuts. No cream. No smoked bacon. They respect the tradition--using proper ingredients like guanciale or pancetta and incorporating the egg the way it's meant to be. It's easily the best carbonara I've had in years. The arancini are another highlight. If you've ever made them at home, you know the effort involved--this is the real deal. Crispy outside, rich and flavorful inside, and absolutely authentic. The bread is baked fresh daily by Nick, and it shows. The pasta is artisan-quality, also made fresh, and sourced from a trusted local partner. Every detail reflects care and intention. Dessert is not an afterthought here. The tiramisu--made in-house--is flawless. And the cannoli? Outstanding. The shells have the perfect crunch, and the fillings are rich without being overpowering. Even the pizzelle cookies are done right. It's no surprise they've earned recognition, including: Best Italian Restaurant in Sacramento Best Restaurant Overall in Sacramento Beyond the food, Nick is active in the community and gives back, which only adds to the experience. We've enjoyed this place so much that we've chosen them to cater my 60th birthday for 20 very discerning Italian family members--many of whom we've already brought here, all with the same glowing reactions. If there's any criticism to address, it's usually from people saying the food isn't salty or herb-heavy enough. That misses the point. This is balanced, authentic cooking--where ingredients shine without being masked. I've been to Papa Gianni's in Cameron Park dozens of times over the years, and it's a great spot. But when it comes to the Sacramento region, Ippolito's Trattoria is my go-to, without question.

Other than the wait, the waiter and waitress were lovely and attentive through the meal. Our appetizer (asparagus & burrata, with prosciutto) did arrive quickly. It was tasty, though two of us found the burrata cheese quite salty, and the asparagus was a bit chewier than I expected. The Torchio e Granchio stole the night; the Dungeness crab meat was excellent and tasted fresh, and matched the cream sauce well (which I normally don't like to eat, but was great with the crab). The beef and pork meatballs were sizeable, which was appreciated; we found them a bit over-flavored however (particularly with oregano), and the sauce-to-meat proportions was a bit much (way too much sauce for the amount of pasta and meatballs for our taste). I found the Orecchiette con Salsiccia to be wwayyy more spicey than the Fregola e Gamberi. Though on the menu they both have one chili sign beside them, I could barely taste any spice in the Fegola e Gamberi, but in the end I picked out a small pile of chili pepper bits from the Orecchiette, which even after doing so my mouth still burned through the meal. They definitely need to add an extra chili next to this dish in the menu.
