Updated review 4/16/2026 This time I ordered the combo plate: chicken parm, ravaloli, rigatoni and spaghetti all smothered under red sauce. The red sauce was delicious, full of lotsa spices. I could taste the tomatoes and enjoyed the deep flavors. I wish I would have added a meatball. BUT I had too much food as it was. The spaghetti and rigatoni were just ok. I liked the ravaloli because ilof the cheese inside. And the chicken oatm was breaded but juicy and also excellent. My meal came with a simple salad. Romain/iceburg mix. Shredded carrot, a few pepperonis. The house italian dressing was fabulous! AND bread. That was the softest bread I've ever had. Smothered in butter, it was yummy! Hubs got a pizza. He made the BEST choice! Loads of pepperoni, the perfect smount of cheese and sauce. The crust was not Cokumbus style thin, it had a little thickness but also a nice crunch! My husband called thd crust "airey". Its no wonder Oizza House won the 97.1 pizza madnesschallenge! The voters chore wel! My only complaint was the temperature in the dining room. Nicely surprised by this place. I'm a pizza snob, but thought the pesto pizza my daughter had was pretty good. The crust was a bit more like a cracker than a chewy thin crust, but good nonetheless. My biggest joy came from the Chicken Parm. I asked for extra marinara (as most places typically don't give you enough). Not only was the pasta swimming in marinara, but if that was a 1/2 order of spaghetti, bring the family for a full order! The red sauce was superb. Slightly sweet, just like a like it. The chicken was good, too. Hot, juicy, crisp, nicely done. Had a glass of their house Cabernet that didn't suck, so much so that I had a second glass. We also ordered the cheesy garlic bread which wasn't anything special, unless you really like cheese, which made it pretty special. The house bread was fair, I didn't get a knife with the chicken, and our server forgot that it came with a salad. However, no harm no foul. I asked for the salad to go and ate it for lunch with the left over spaghetti the next day. The architecture of the place is rather unique. It's in a square building, but nothing inside is square. It's also a bit dated, with beat up walls and ceiling tiles in need of painting or replacement. But for a pizza joint that has some pretty good pasta options, it's just fine. read more

Great old school Italian restaurant style pizza shop. Plenty of seating. Friendly staff. The pizza is really good and a favorite with locals. They can be a bit heavy on the toppings so if you get something like a supreme you will have lots of toppings falling off but that's not necessarily a bad thing. read more

This may be the best pizza in Columbus. It is so good. I have only had takeout and have only had the pizza but it's amazing. It's everything you want on Columbus style pizza- thin crust with cornmeal crunchy bottom, somewhat sweet but tangy sauce and just the right amount of cheese. I don't eat meat so I can't tell you about the pepperoni. It's hit or miss if you're gonna be able to get it when you're craving it because you can't order online. They don't deliver. You're lucky if you can get through to their phone line. If you do, the person on the other end is answering calls and dealing with the carry out line. It gets busy. It's worth it though. read more

I'm not sure why I waited so long to try this spot, but I'm sad that I did. The pizza is phenomenal - hands down one of my top 2 Columbus style pies in the city. The crust is crispy, has a good chew, and is unlike any other pie I've had in the city. It's been awhile since the family and I had The Pizza House. The last time we ordered, we noticed the quality had suffered, but we didn't know why. So we took a long break from ordering from The Pizza House. Tonight we decided to give it another try...and sadly we were disappointed again . I believe we figured out what is happening. When they are extremely busy, the quality continues to suffer. The dining room was full of customers, the carry out line was long, but the staff is always friendly. We ordered a large pepperoni + sausage pizza. It was poorly made in our opinion, and it just didn't taste the same when we first tried The Pizza House 3+ years ago. This is recent discovery of mine in my quest to find quick, casual dinner spots on the Sundays my older kid has youth group. I've never had to wait long for a table even though it always seems to be busy. The service here is quick and friendly. There's a strong nostalgic vibe here that probably has a lot to do with how long this restaurant has been open. My son loves the chicken tenders. He can be pretty pick about them, but he really likes theirs. I've mostly just stuck to the garlic bread and wedding soup, but the other appetizers I've tried have all been really good. If you're getting the garlic bread, sometimes it comes out really crispy. Like sometimes it feels like a giant crouton, but other times it perfect with crispy crust and pillowy inside. I just ask if they can make sure the bread doesn't get too toasted and it hasn't been an issue since. Otherwise I have no complaints. The food is great, I never go without a refill, and it's overall an amazing value for the very reasonable prices they charge. read more

I'm sad to write this review but I'm doing so to warn others and in hopes that "pizza house" will see this review and make the changes. I ordered a large pep and banana pepper pizza and the tortellini with butter and mushroom sauce. The pizza was great as always, pizza house makes great pizza so if you want a pie you likely won't be disappointed, however the tortellini with mushroom sauce was horrible. The mushrooms were just canned mushrooms dumped on top of the tortellini mixed with a little butter. This in my opinion is just lazy and lacking care for your customers. Normally a tortellini like this will have sautéed mushrooms not slimy flippy floppy canned mushrooms and you guys should really specify that to the customers if you are gonna pass this of as a meal and charge $15 bucks for a small batch of boiled tortellini with canned mushrooms dumped on top and a little butter melted on it that you can't taste. With the tortellini comes a side salad and a half piece of stale sub bun that isn't toasted. This isn't the first time that I have ordered something from the pizza house (other than their really good pizza) that is low quality and disappointing. My hope is that you guys read this constructive criticism and change the mushrooms to real sautéed mushrooms or at the very least tell the customer that you are just offering canned mushrooms as I feel misled, my other hope is that if you are someone ordering a dish like this from pizza house that you don't or that you call and ask them how and what the dish you are ordering is made and consists of otherwise it's likely you will have the same fate. It is my fault for not asking about the mushrooms by I never thought someone would pass off a dish like this to a customer. read more

It was another Italian night for dinner. Tristan was my waiter and did an excellent job tonight. Decided I would have Lasagna. Salad and bread came with it. Salad was standard bag salad I believe, the dressing was a small packet of ranch dressing by Marzetti. Bread was from Auddino's. On to the main course the Lasagna. The noodles were cooked perfectly, plenty of ground beef in the sauce which made it a little watery though. Still it was flavorful. Will return but next time it will be Pizza Time!!! read more

The Pizza House was recommended to us so we decided to give it a try. We came on a Sunday evening and the parking lot was full. We had to wait a few minutes for a table. I asked Ashley if the wedding soup was homemade and she said it was and it was one of their best sellers. I ordered the wedding soup. My husband had an Italian salad with plenty of cheese. We also had the barbecue chicken pizza. The crust was light and delicious. Everything was tasty. Ashley was so polite and professional as a waitress. She was top notch in the industry. Another great lunch at Pizza House. The hostess was so friendly and welcoming. Pizza is always served piping hot. I am not a fan of sweet sauce - personal choice so I opted for the grilled chicken salad which is huge. The homemade Italian dressing is the best. My son and husband enjoyed their pizzas. Another place for pizza in Columbus. It has subs too on the menu. The Pizza House is a longtime favorite in the upper Clintonville neighborhood. Because it's been around so long, it obviously is better. You have to remember the mediocre choices around here though. Compared to the chain crap, it certainly is better. It's a longtime family owned business. They do things how they want. Accept it. They know better than you. Prices are good for what you get. They're cheap which is the main thing. Of course the food can taste cheap. You get what you pay for but it's not that bad though. I came in the last time and got a pickup order of pizza and subs for me and my boo. The quality was average but the prices helped make up for this. I had a Vegetable Sub and chips. It's about $6.50 for a footlong size. This comes with black olives, green peppers, mushrooms, onions, and tomatoes. Each time here the pizza has been slightly cold. That's when picking it up and we had to warm it at home. It overall isn't what I would call bad. Maybe dining in is better because you can sit at the bar and get drinks with pizza. That would be my choice the next time. read more

This gives vibes of old style Columbus pizza, like a few other places still around. I've only been twice, and I'm upset I hadn't known about it earlier. The combination of sauce (which has great flavor) cracker crust, and old world pepperonis is chef's kiss! Last time I added the Italian sausage and that was a nice additional flavor. Definitely at the very top of pizzas in Columbus. I think the thing that sets it apart is over the years some of the other family owned Pizzarias seem to have cheapened out on some of their ingredients. Nothing here tasted low quality.
