Start by saying sub/sandwich shops are my weakness, I love em, national chains and local mom n pop…read moreshops. So I was amped when Jersey Mike's opened near me, and I'd never tried a Jersey Mikes sub. So last week we ordered (via GrubHub) and got three subs, a Club Sub for me, a Tuna sub for the missus, and a Mike's Famous Philly cuz.....welp, i couldn't decide and opted for the gluttonous route :-). Verdict? For me, it's a comparison thingie. I'm an old Subway fan and though a "non toasted sub" would be a non-starter, but nope. The Club Sub was excellent (I'd say better meat than Subway, on a par with my other go-to, Jimmy John's). The Famous Philly? Killer. The roast beef/steak was a cut above Subway's, which admittedly has always had that weird, processed texture IMO. Where the toe got stubbed? The tuna sub was a thumbs down, the wife had to eat it like a "deconstructed sandwich" it was so wet and sloppy. Dunno. Just wet, sloppy, and fell apart. She wasn't thrilled. So if tuna's your game, be advised. I think mebbe its cuz they add dressing in addition to the mayo in the sub already? So, two out of the three items I ordered were "5 plusses" And as I always say, bottom line barometer is "would I/will I go back? You betchya, and soon.

When we got to the counter to order, the two ladies there both greeted us, although one was taking someone else's order. When my mom and I said we were gluten free, she had every answer we needed. Sauces, putting hush puppies on the side, no bread. Excellent job! We would have sat outside, but all of those tables were filled. We did get a table inside for the four of us. Packed inside too. They brought our food out to us when it was ready. With it being packed for Father's Day, 20-25 minutes wasn't that bad. The two sandwich eaters devoured their sandwiches and sides. The two meat platter had just the right amount of proteins and sides. Pulled pork is often my go to, but the brisket was divine on Sunday! I didn't know there were at least four kinds of beans available in the side but yum! The Green beans were solid, cooked in/with butter. Upon finishing our delicious lunch we went across the parking lot to the creamery. They had vegan options so I got one vanilla and one chocolate. The cookies and cream wasn't gluten free so I am unable to comment on that vegan option. Very smooth. An awesome finish to an excellent Father's Day lunch. Great atmosphere. Great staff. Great food. They look so full in the pictures, but are kinda small when you unwrap them. I'll be back here and there to try the rest of the menu. I've heard the hot buttered cheese-steak is really good.
