Avoid this place ! We stayed at the hotel next door and decided to have some dinner our first night in town. The place had mostly empty tables throughout the entire restaurant so we were surprised the host told us there was a 45 minute wait. We put our name on the list and hoped for the best. An hour later we get a table inside and noticed the few people seated around us were waiting for food. After giving our server the food order and waiting another 30 minutes we asked them politely what the issue was. She pointed to a stack of about 30 pizza boxes and paper bags and said that they were backed up with to-go orders . After another 20 minutes went by we finally got our food. We did not realize we were eating at an overpriced dominoes take out that puts customers on a wait while continuing to let online orders be placed . After being restaurant owners ourselves for over 20 years , reading previous reviews stating the same experience and the responses by user "Paige" we realized this is how this restaurant operates. Went to Surfside for the weekend and discovered this place on Yelp. Sat outside on the patio. Megan was our server and she was awesome! Knowledgeable about the menu and steered us in the right direction. We started with their wings and their buffalo sauce with delicious. I had Snailed it pizza. Generous amount of snails with garlic sauce and cheese. It was delicious. My daughter had the chicken Caesar salad that was over loaded with shredded chicken! Lastly the ham and cheesy Sammy was delish as well. Great selection of beer, wine and fun cocktails! Looking forward to returning soon! read more

This place is a treasure! We really felt the beach vibe from the moment we entered. It's such a fun atmosphere, from the beach location to the funky decor. We visited during Covid, and it was really clean. The staff members were friendly and were all wearing face masks. Additionally, they offered both outdoor seating and socially distanced indoor seating. We loved all of the out-of-the-box pizza offerings; no boring pizzas here! Each pie is the size of a personal pizza (10 inches, 6 smaller-size pieces), so our family of three shared one with mozzarella and dill pickles, one with bacon and meatballs, and one with guacamole and pork. To start, I am a self proclaimed pizza snob from Northern NJ. We came to Pizza Hyena last year and I was very impressed. We had to come back. You can tell how fresh everything is right away. Service is outstanding. This time just confirmed everything from last year. We tried 4 different pizzas along with the Hyena balls. Everything was on point! We tried to get the white sangria but they were out two years in a row. That tells me we just need to get there earlier. If you haven't been here, just go. First time to eat here and it was really good! Small restaurant but the space was well used. Had a little bar inside which also opened on the back for the outdoor seating. The outdoor seating was available in the front and back of the restaurant, which made it nice if you didn't want to sit in the sun. They had a nice variety of domestic beer with craft beers to choose from. They had 22 pizzas to choose from. All are 10" cut to 6 slices. I ate the smoke ring and it was delicious! My adult son and I were in Myrtle Beach for a week. The food and service at Pizza Hyena added tremendously to the enjoyment of the trip. We had one lunch and three dinners at this restaurant and loved the food (sandwiches and pizzas) and could not have asked more in terms of friendly and attentive service. Upon arrival on Friday, we were treated to a fantastic meal and a great conversation with our server, Babs. Three days later, we returned and Babs remembered every detail of our conversation -- very impressed that so many people could come and go in those three days and that she still had personal details at hand for us.
