Just remodeled and reopened almost a month ago. We've been twice since then. At first I was turned off about going after they reopened because the food was terrible and serviced sucked about a year ago. However, they've really stepped up their game. The buffet was well stocked even on busy nights & you can request just about anything. The salad bar was pretty good the only thing thats a turn off is the cramped tables having to squeeze by just about everyone. If your lucky enough to get a booth you wont need to worry but the if your at the tables you have to keep moving to let people by. The staff are all courteous and well groomed. I wish I could give 4 1/2 stars because the cramped quarters are really the only thing keeping me from rating 5 stars. read more

I typically go to pizza inn specifically for their dessert pizza's. The Durham location needs to work a bit on their chocolate chip pizza recipe, I've ordered numerous times hoping that they would fix their error and it would be better but each time I remain disappointed. Pizza was not good at all. Also 10year old charged as a adult. Just not the same ole pizza inn I remember. Their pizza is now on the quality of a 5.00 pizza. Save your cash and get a digorno. read more

Pizza Inn is pretty good food for the price. I'm never disappointed when I leave. I even joined the Pizza Inn rewards program to earn free food with visits. We have 2 children who enjoy the food as well. The staff is always friendly and helpful. All in all, it's a good restaurant. read more

I broke down and have gone back several times. New manager and new wait staff. Pizza has gotten better and the buffet is pretty good. If they don't have what I like, they make it. I can't complain since it's improved 100% since I wrote my first review. read more

I'm in between 3-4 stars. My husband and I had a coupon and decided to check this place out. The salad bar was good and had a good variety. The pizza quality was okay, but it was nice that they'll make you what you want. I wanted a vegetarian pizza, and they also made me a pizza with spinach, mushrooms, and olives. Both of us enjoyed the chocolate chip pizza. Both the cashier and waitress were really friendly and nice. Our drinks stayed full and she came over often to check on us. The sanitation rating is not the best, but we read that it was due to a minor violation or two and that they've fixed the issue. Not bad, but not great! read more

I ate here a few days ago and was blown away. Never been to a pizza buffet before so no exceptions but definitely will not be my last trip. Food was delicious and apon request they will make any pizza for the buffet for you. Matt was our server and was simply amazing and tentative had a conversation about anything. I waited for a small pizza for 35 minutes today at Pizza Inn on N. Duke Street, Durham, NC. I was told it would be about 12 minutes when order was placed. Pizzas were constantly being delivered to the buffet station but nothing for me. Several staff began to ask me what I had ordered as I assume I sat so long they thought I was homeless and needed a place to rest. The last insult was the Pizza was not cooked. It was a crust with supreme toppings on it but the toppings were never cooked, raw peppers, raw onions, raw pepperoni, etc. I will NEVER order anything from these folk again! Get it together folks! Went to pizza Inn today and it was definitely my first and my last visit. We waited at the sign to be seated and were told that we needed to pay first which wasn't a problem. I went to the bar to look around and the only thing I really found that looked fresh was the cheese sticks but it was ok because we were asked shortly after if there was anything that we would like to have added to the buffet. I placed a order for a pizza and while we waited for it I was just observing because it look like it had been recently remodeled. I observed one of the employees running his fingers through his hair and then bring a stack of plates to the buffet, rub his hands through his hair again after he stacked the plates and walked back into the kitchen. Meanwhile a group of employees is talking in the entrance way to the kitchen and one of the guys that was making pizzas wiped his eyes, wiped his nose ( both with his bare hands) and went back to his area to make pizzas. After observing this, The pizza I ordered came to the buffet and I observed the other guy again run his fingers through his hair and proceeded to put me some pizza on a plate and bring it to our table. When he sat the plate on the table I just kinda looked at it because I could not believe what I just saw. I asked one of the employees for the manager as I explained to her why I wanted to speak with her. When the manager came to the table I explained to her what I saw and told her that I felt it was unsanitary. Instead of her apologizing and trying to fix the issue she tells me that it's fine as long as he didn't physically touch my food on my plate! Really?? When I asked who her manager was she decided to tell me that she's serve safe and she's about to buy the place as if that mattered to me. I'd like to point out that none of the employees had on gloves or hair nets. I didn't bother asking for a refund because we did eat 2 slices of pizza and a cheese stick but ultimately we're out money we paid for our meal. I feel like it would've been a waste anyway since the so- called manager on duty had excuses for her employees actions instead of trying to remedy the problem. read more

They have a great selection on their buffet. I don't get the reviewer that said it is a step up to Cici's and not better than Papa Johns or Domino's. They have unique pizzas (the potato bacon/taco pizza/chicken fajita) and the standard meat and/or veggie pizza. The crust on the thin and pan pizzas are, of course, very different and both are delicious (the thin crust is crispy and the pan crust is chewy). The salad bar has better than average options and is fresh (excellent ranch dressing - taste homemade). We drive from Chapel Hill just for the buffet at this Pizza Inn location (Duke St.). By far the best Pizza Inn I have been to. Lots of pizza selection and always fresh. The salad bar is loaded and they even have hot soup. Clean, fast, friendly service and excellent food! We will definitely go back when we are in town! read more
