I ordered a calzone, very cheesy and meaty, dipping sauce could've been a little thicker but it was good either way. Beach pizza that offers the cats meow, and the cows moo just for you! I really believe that they put a lot of love into their pies. It has a handmade homemade feel. It is worth mentioning that the leftovers are quite delicious too! I definitely encourage grabbing a few pies and heading to one of the local beaches in Newport that you love and having a feast all day. Fresh ingredients, delicious pizza and stellar views. Come on man... the Don Giovani pizza that I was raving about on my previous post has gone down hill. I think when I read through some of the other reviews it seems like the quality of the pizza has gone down in the recent months. Seems like there is some validity in these comments. We ordered our usual pizza and received it only partially cooked. The mozzarella was still fully uncooked. When we called the restaurant about it they said that's the way its made and we need to specify whether the cheese is cooked. ???? What? Since when do we have to start specifying if the cheese on a pizza has to be cooked or not. That was the most BS response I have ever heard. We have ordered this pizza probably 30times by now. So we know how it normally is. Just correct the problem instead of making excuses. So disappointed. We ended up heating and cooking the mozzarella at home. Felt a little cheated. read more

The food is top notch! The proximity to the Newport area is great and overall value is good. Have eaten here multiple times, always a few people in line, but moves quickly. This place is amazing! I love that it's just outside the base and is easily accessible on foot. The pizza is fantastic and the staff is amazing! I have been in Newport for roughly 3 weeks so far, and I've been here at least 5 times. So far, I've had a pizza, calzone, and wings from here, and all of them have been good. If I had one complaint, the wings are a little more pricey than I think they should be, but the cost seems to be on par with everyone else in the Newport area. read more

This is another one of my co-workers' and my favorite lunch spots. I have to admit, I've never been here for dinner; just lunch with pizza by the slice. They have specials on some days like $3 slices, or buy 3, get 1 free. Their lunch service is speeeeeeeedy, which is much appreciated, as much of the lunch clientele comes from where I work, and a lot of us from there try to keep lunch to 30 min. The crust is more or less a NY style. While the crust is usually what does it for me in a pizza (let's be honest, we classify pizzas by crust style...it's the most important part of a pizza), the real gem of the pizzas here are the toppings. They have quite a few interesting choices that work pretty well. A couple of the ones I always look forward to getting are mac and cheese, and beef taco. There was a wide variety of options at the slice counter reharding toppings, I had trouble limiting myself to two! Steak and mushroom was good; meat lovers was awesome. We have driven by the unassuming pizza joint many times. Located right off a 'round about', it's easy to access their parking lot from Admiral Kalbfus Rd. Located next to Sullivan Tire, they have a fair size private parking lot. There are two 'sections' of this establishment. On the right is an area where you can order 'a slice' at the counter or pick up your take away order. On the left is a long bar, some high top tables and booth seating. Windows run across the front, with a door at the middle. A few smaller windows run along the side wall in the bar/dining room area. Restrooms (M/W) are in the back of the bar area. We initially walked to the right side, didn't see a menu and as it was an odd time of day, there weren't many slices available. As we hadn't been here before and weren't sure what the food options were, we sidled over to the bar and were handed menu's. They have a few beers on tap and a full range of alcohol. A QR code was posted in the 'take-away' area on the right. You can scan this to down load their menu if you like. To see the menu on their website, choose the 'order on-line' option. Select a category on the left side of the web page to see the offerings in each category. Besides pizza, the menu includes several salads, burger, pasta, wings. and a couple of taco's listed under apps, as well as potato skins and nachos to name a few. My SO ordered their hottest wing sauce and he tells me it's like Frank's hot sauce, which for him is too tame. But the chicken was good quality and he ate the whole basket. They offer boneless and classic wings which come with either blue cheese or ranch on the side. I ordered a burger. It was well cooked, juicy, served with lettuce and tomato, on a soft bun. Ask for condiments to be added to the burger if you want some. Ketchup was put on the bar for the fries, which were good and there were plenty. Should have ordered a side salad, or other vegetable to accompany our heavy meals. They do offer fried brussels sprouts in their appetizer section with a variety of sauces and many of their salads (garden, Caesar, Greek for ex.) come as a 'side' option. The restaurant and restrooms were clean. The Bartender was pleasant. The food good. Why we didn't get pizza, I'm not sure, but we really should try it next time we are in the area. read more

Wow! We were here visiting from Florida and the service we received from Jade was exceptional! Had the pumpkin spice espresso martini and it was to die for! we are long time customers of Antonio's in newport RI. we have always received stellar service, and the food and drinks are to die for! last night we hosted our sons birthday. there were about 16 of us including children! we were a rowdy bunch! the staff was amazing!!!! it was busy Friday night, but they were engaging and communicating with us if something was being delayed. the food came out perfectly and delicious. We were all fighting for leftovers! We have been many times for take-out. The boneless wings and pizza combinations are amazing. Tonite we stopped in at the bar, Dave the bartender was so accommodating, he greeted us with a smile and a hello while serving a drink to another customer! We ordered Antonio's late on a Friday night. They were pretty backed up so it took a while. However the pizza was well worth the wait. We got a pepperoni pizza and a "Siracusa". The pepperoni was sufficient, but the Siracusa may be the best pizza I've eaten. It's got sweet Italian sausage, caramelized onions, mozzarella cheese and blue cheese and crème fraiche. There is no tomato sauce on this pizza. I cannot put into words how delicious this combo is. The sausage is. It overpowering. The onions are sweet and the blue cheese and crème fraiche create a creaminess that's to die for. I'll dream of this pizza until I return to Newport! read more

We were hungry for Italian spaghetti and went to the location where we previously had eaten about 6 years ago. The restaurant that we had visited apparently was sold and is now Antonio's. We decided to give it a try. The waitress met us about a minute after we entered and we took a booth. We perused the menu and at first had difficulty finding spaghetti. Most of the menu was pizza and chicken. . We did find 'classic' spaghetti with meatballs option and ordered it. It took awhile which we expected when food is prepared essentially from scratch. We heard they had THE WORST Pizza in Newport. That's a bold statement so I figured I had to come see the worst pizza for myself. The pizza here is GOOD. Is it the greatest? I'm giving it 8/10. They make their own dough here so it's better than your local Greek style trash. It's a semi-Neapolitan style. Some friends and I ordered several pizzas for delivery to an event we were at. We were told there would be a wait of 45 minutes to an hour as the restaurant was understaffed. After an hour and 30 minutes, we called and were told the delivery would arrive "soon". It turns out our delivery driver arrived and rather than call the phone number associated with the order, gave the pizzas to other people at the event without confirming details. We didn't see this happen nor did we know the order was delivered until we called the restaurant. Casey at the restaurant accused us of lying and banned us from ordering delivery from the restaurant in the future. It would be helpful if the restaurant invoked a policy of calling the customer when delivering to a public venue. This would insure instances like this don't happen anymore. Thankfully they did agree to refund us the charges, but it's unsettling that a restaurant would blame a customer for another person stealing an order which was out of our control. We've ordered from here in the past and never had an issue. It's unfortunate that we won't be able to order here anymore. read more

They personally came up to me and said my frequent visits and not tipping became an issue (which I now realize makes sense because tipping is important to servers). Therefore I had the option to either sit at self service or dine in and actually tip. I will say, tipping is not required but it is appreciated which is what I assume is the "rule." But the way they came across like that just to myself and nobody else (who knows if they do this to anyone else besides myself) caught me off guard. They did end up apologizing and giving me a 10% discount but again, that doesn't excuse what they did and made me a little uncomfortable. I also remember another time where this same server was frazzled and frustrated, remember her slamming the cash register getting my change back and rudely gave it back to me. What did I ever do to this person? Hopefully they improve on their behavior otherwise I'll either be sitting in the self serve section or never eating here again. Must say I agree with many of the other reviews. Have tried to like this location several times as the location is very convenient but unfortunately the bad service was just too much this last time. Many times I have had slices that were way over-heated to the point they tasted horrible, always have to warn them just heat it a little and they don't pay attention to what they are doing. As for the last visit, I actually did not even have a chance to order. Walked up to the counter as always, anyone that has been here knows the route. Stood in front of the glass while 1 gentleman continued to arrange pizza without acknowledging me, waited for the cashier to ring up 2-3 others ahead of me, at this time the man was done rearranging pizza so he started to ask guests behind me what they would want. I only assumed he skipped me as I was in front of the register at this point, only to have the girl look up past me to someone who completely skipped the line to ask if he ordered ahead.
