We have been Pizza King fans when the closest one was on State. Tonight we ordered a Royal Feast (1/2 no mushrooms and 1/2 no onions..) from the Maplecrest location with no great expectations as the last time we ordered 3 or 4 months ago it was a just ok, nothing special. However, tonight, had to be the BEST pizza we have had from Pizza King EVER! The crust was baked so perfect, it needed no toppings and there were zero bubbles in the crust, IYKYK. We live near the Pizza King on 14. We have been eating Pizza King pizza for many, many years and it Clear Lake there was one which we frequented. This one on 14 is clean and very attractive. I came all the way from California and went out of my way just to try Pizza King while visiting family on the recommendation of a very good friend of mine and I'm so glad that I did stop at Pizza King. This location was medium sized had some booths to sit at. I've never been here , so naturally I walked up to the counter and I was helped by a friendly gentleman , he asked if it was to go and indeed it was. He explained that if it was not to go we could sit at a booth and order on a the little phones that sit there table side. That was so unique to me as I have never seen that before. We knew that Pizza Kings Pizza is known for their thin crust pizzas , but seeing as we were taking it on the road for a 2 hour drive back to Ohio we ordered the deep dish meat lovers pizza. The wait for that was for about 20 minutes. Not bad at all. When we saw our pizza , IT. WAS. AMAZING! It withstood that drive and devoured it while at a train crossing (that seemed forever by the way) the nice buttery crust with the crispy bits of bacon and sausage. What is up with this location? Or have ALL Pizza King locations downgraded their product. For years we loved the Royal Feast. It has been a very long time since we ordered from there since the last pizza we got here was not up to the standards of other locations. This one was not either, in fact, Jacks frozen pizza is better and $20 less. The price was ridiculous,but we used to think it was worth it. The crust was good. Almost no sauce, not much cheese, and huge pieces of mushroom in and on top of the pizza. It was awful! Large pieces of uncut sausage as well. With literally, 10 pizza joints within a few miles, we will be going to those from now on. For the quality this pizza is WAY overpriced. read more

A stromboli sounded good. I walked in - the place looked and smelled awesome. It reminded me of Noble Romans way back in the 70s. While looking at the menu the lady suggested I try the Original Giant Sub. Being in an adventurous mood, I chose the sub. I then wavered between the 8" and 11". The price is 40% more for only another 3". I decided on one of each size. They were ready in about 15 minutes. We ran them home and began our dining experience. Pros: Good quality ingredients and great taste. Cons: pretty skimpy on the ingredients. We got an occasional bit of onion. The cheese was barely noticeable. Surely onions aren't that expensive. This place recently opened in an old bakery storefront. The owners have done a nice job modifying the place, but a couple of the tables are really close to the front door which means when we were eating there recently it was very cold - especially every time someone opens the door. The experience was like Back to the Future. You order using a telephone at the table, they still serve soda in pitchers (but there are glasses available as well?), and they think that people should be paying $20 for a pizza that is just a notch above what you could buy at a store. I can see paying top dollar if the pizza or sandwiches were something special, but they are not. We ordered a Royal Feast pizza, breadsticks, and a sub sandwich. The pizza had noticeable spots with no cheese or toppings and very little sauce. If you are going to charge top dollar at least put some toppings on the darn thing! The sandwich was all bread. It had very poor quality square cut - not even deli sliced :-( meat and virtually no cheese. It was obvious to us that no one cared and the food was not made with any attention to detail and certainly no love. The manager / owner was not checking on things or thanking people for trying the new place either which you would think would be important since it just recently opened. Overall the place is way too expensive and definitely not worth it. We got special pricing on our items and yet a 14" pizza, breadsticks, a pitcher of pop and a sandwich were well over $30 when including tip. Skip this place until they realize that if you want to charge premium prices you need to create a premium product with top notch customer service. Unfortunately Pizza King has neither and you just feel like you are being ripped off by the high prices. read more

Maplecrest location. We have ordered from this location a number of times - for delivery. Typically, they are not bad on delivery times. Today, we decided to pick up a pizza (royal feast) while we were out. We called in our order and stopped in to pick it up - just a few minutes later than expected - as we had to go a bit out of our way to get there. When I walked in, I saw what I thought was our order sitting on the staging counter. As I was waiting on a gentleman in front of me to finish placing his order, a car pulled up to the drive up window, the cashier took their money and handed out the pizza that was on the counter. When I finally got to the cashier, I gave her my name. She turned around and yelled our name through the pass through to the kitchen and the girls in back. They had a bit of a conversation, and clearly the woman in the kitchen was not happy. The cashier came back to the counter, looked in a basket full of receipts (the one on top - from the car in the drive up), then walked back to talk to the woman in the kitchen. The woman in the kitchen said something to the effect of "Well, you said it was theirs!", then said to other people in the kitchen "We gotta make a 12" royal on the double!". The cashier came back to tell me "Someone else just said they were you - and picked up your order. We have to make you another one". There lays the first problem... I was just lied to. I truly doubt someone just happened to pull up and give our name to claim our food. More likely, the cashier wasn't paying attention and just handed our food to someone else. Hopefully they ordered the same thing. Now, facing having to wait 20 more minutes for our food to be remade, I was expecting something for my trouble - that the cashier caused, but nope... she barked out our original total and reached for the $20 I had laid on the counter. I snatched it back and said "Ya know what, I don't really want to wait again, so I think we'll just grab a burger instead". Instead of offering a discount, she simply said "Ok". I get that sometimes the unusual happens, but when it does, at the fault of the business, you offer something to make your customers happy for their trouble - then to not even say "sorry"! I felt a little insulted. We go back and forth between Pizza King and River Bend Pizza. Will we order from this location again? Probably, but we're going to stick with River Bend Pizza for a while. In 20 years of buying River Bend Pizza, they have never boned our order like that. read more

It was almost $24 which I thought was a little expensive, but I don't mind paying that much for really good pizza, but this pizza was a disappointment. First of all it was more like the size of a medium at most places. Second, many of the pieces were barely covered with cheese or toppings or had no cheese or toppings at all.
