The food and service here is phenomenal! Due to Covid and the ice storm there wasn't anywhere to get food. We tried to order from Door Dash but it said they were too busy. Instead, I tried calling and was greeted by a very friendly man who kindly took my order and then read it back to me to make sure everything was correct. I sent my husband to grab it and he was giggling as he walked in the door. I asked what was so funny and he opened the pizza box with our two "slices" in there. Those things are HUGE!!!! My jaw dropped! We began to eat and the pizza was hands down the best pizza I've had here in Texas. Crispy crust (even later after being re heated), extremely generous with the toppings and AMAZING flavor! I tried some of the meatball sub and it was delicious, the bread was soft and warm and stuffed to the brim with meatballs! The cannoli was to DIE for, I'd go back just for that! Seems like some of the reviewers are 30k millionaires or just a gang of yuppies who've never been to NYC. While it's not the best pizza in town, it really deserves more than 2 stars. American Pizza should be simple, not some frou frou affair. Leave that to the Italian restaurants. Fast Delivery and great prices make this a decent find. I was thrown off by the reviews which made me worry. I was quite surprised and glad I didn't find some of the reviews helpful. The crust was almost perfect. Just finished my pizza and I'm not dead. Haha! I'm a native Long Island New Yorker. (32 years to be exact). I'm not a fan of LI pizza-doughy crust and greasy. I'm more of a deep dish kind of gal. I know, sac-reglious! ANYHOW...I thought this pizza was blah. The crust was crispy-a little on the dry side. There was NO sauce and NO cheese. Maybe it was because I had a Groupon Now coupon. (Psst, hey...this girl has a groupon, ease up on the toppings!) LOL! (Probably true). Also, since I'm a nosey NY'er, I asked the guy there who was from NY. And he pointed to his MEXICAN boss. Ok, I'm not being a racist, but I've NEVER known a NY MEXICAN pizza joint. They're 100% Italian. Not that a Mexican can't make great pizza. I'm just saying, so don't send the hate comments. Got the caesar salad. At least they used real greek olives. I kind of laughed when the guy asked what kind of dressing I want on a GREEK salad. Uh, duh! Only a tiny sprinkle of fetta cheese that really didn't have flavor. A LOT OF LETTUCE! Tomatoes tasted old. They threw in some garlic bread. Dry and bland. I personally could make better. Came here with the boyf for pizza and garlic knots (I've developed a very strong affinity towards garlic knots in the past year for some unknown reason) since he had purchased a Groupon for a large 3-topping pizza and an appetizer a while ago. We called ahead and placed an order which was to be done in about 30 minutes. We got there in time and waited an additional ~10 minutes or so, didn't seem busy at all but whatevs. Attention - the garlic olive oil sauce (instead of tomato pizza sauce) counts as one of your toppings so choose accordingly. Pizza - ok Yelp fam, I've made myself pretty clear in other pizza reviews that the Houston pizza scene is pretty dismal at best so I suppose this place is alright...and not "alright alright alright" in the Matthew McConaughey type of way, but literally just alright. Crust kind of reminds me of Papa John's but that's not a terrible thing. Garlic Knots - also just alright. I was starving and ate almost all of them without putting much thought into them. Locale - Sort of like a corner pizzeria type thing, outdated and oddly furnished, massive unused gelato fridge next to cashier counter, next to a shelf of inventory overflow, paint chipped walls (paint is cheap and painting a small location takes a few hours and makes it look much cleaner), and crooked frames (I'm not OCD I swear, I just wanted to fix the frames...all of them...). Ordered delivery to my hotel. The first piece was delicious. The second piece...not so much. I bit into a screw, most likely from their oven, that had been baked into the pizza. Luckily, I did not bite the pointed end or the damage could have been much worse. I was so distraught I didn't want to eat anymore of their product. As if this wasn't bad enough, when I called to lodge a formal complaint and request a refund the manager accused me of lying and refused to give me any money back. After a heated debate where I offered photo evidence and even to return my unused portion, I was refunded. Would not recommend. My friend told me the place had a 28 inch pizza., which is abt an arms length In diameter. I'm like heck ya! That's the perfect thing to order when you are feeding a herd of people! So I called my friends and their kids and we met there. It's a small hole in the wall pizza joint. So there's like 3 tables and a few side bar seats. The pizza is 30 bucks for cheese and 3 bucks for each topping. I saw a coupon for grubhub for 10 bucks off. Doesn't work. Cashier said she can't give me the discount cause not their promo (she said manager said no). I'm like alright...fine. As I was eating, a couple came in with a Groupon. It was like 15 bucks for a large pizza and wings and drink and what not. I'm like wtf? Seriously? Thanks?!?! I googled the Groupon, still current and active. Feeling jipped at this point. As the pizza got cold within the 30 mins to an hour. Doesn't taste great. Felt bad for my friend cause usually cold pizza or even leftover pizza still taste decent. But even when it was hot, it was just edible but not to die for, just good enough to fill the stomach kinda food. Prob will not be going back, but great chance to take a picture with a huge pizza. A nice small place to get all kinds of pizza slices. The variety will take you by surprise and their prices are great if you want a quick pizza fix. I came here for the first time and saw their picture of the Pizza Rolls appetizer. It's actually more of a crispy pastry roll with mozzarella and your choice of 2 toppings stuffed inside. The marinara is on the side for you to dip and really flavorful. The outer pastry of the roll is really good, albeit a tiny bit greasy - but I enjoyed that part too. My cousin came with me and she ordered a slice of the Tuscany with artichoke, red bell peppers, onions, and I believe it was ham. The onion was fragrant and the artichoke went really well with it. The pizza slices are a great value since you get almost an arm's-length slice at around $4-6. I will definitely return to this pizza spot. The place is small and the atmosphere is only good for a quick bite. The walls are worn, but I think it adds a little bit of character to the place. read more

I really enjoyed Pizza Love. I've eaten there four or five times and I haven't had anything bad. I have not tried the cheesecake, but the gelato was very tasty. They have a lot of variety on the menu and everything I've tried is fresh and delicious. They might not make their desserts in-house, but they do make their own salad dressing. I mean, come on, really Bob? You're going to slam some little pizza delivery place that's in a strip center for not making their own desserts? Have you ever made cheesecake before? That would be a really hard task for a place that size to accomplish, especially considering they probably only have three or four full-time employees. Besides, Sara Lee is some good stuff, and if it was frozen you should have told them. The guy I always talk to on the phone ( I guess he's the owner) is so damn nice he probably would have sent a driver over with another dessert. I think this other guy (Josh) that said he would have to be drunk to enjoy it was probably drunk when he wrote that review, or he is just one of those typical, love-to-slam-everything reviewers. It's much easier to SOUND witty when you're slamming something, I guess. Oh, and get your facts straight; they do serve sandwiches. I'm eating some Pizza Love right now, and I'm stone cold sober and loving every minute of it. Bottom Line: This place is no Star Pizza, but they aren't trying to be either. If you want to spend thirty plus dollars on a pizza (probably fifty or so for you and your significant other, by the time it's all said and done) then go to Star. Gotta say that I ordered a slice of Pizza "the Gourmet" and it was wonderful. This company has "pre-prepared" crust at the end of the evening, so I was expecting some "nuked thing" at close to midnight, and my visiting nephew and I hadn't eaten. We were surprised first by the absolute courtesy of the man at the counter, second by the HUGE slices and third; it was superb, fresh tomatoes, artichokes, basil leaves and feta cheese as the main ingredients. Not bad, but I have definitely had better. The pizza was mediocre at best. It did not have a ton of flavor, but the thin crust was nice. The wings were fare and lacking sauce. We also tried the cheese bread, which was not worth the money or the calories. It kind of just tasted like not great french bread with some melted grated cheese. I love this neighborhood spot. It's locally owned and operated by great people serving surprisingly unique and delicious food. It is so much more than a "strip center" pizza place. And, if you need a meeting catered, they will do it right every time! Wherever you live, Pizza Love is worth a trip. But, if you live or work in Montrose, it should be a regular stop (or have it delivered!). It's a neat little place you might have driven by 1,000 times. Do yourself a favor and stop in. New York style pizza (good crust), with a tomato sauce that is more savory than sweet. Had the Montrose, with spinach instead of roasted peppers and the addition of ham. Garlic bread is too expensive for what is basically soft white hoagie roll spread with margarine and chopped garlic and toasted. Tasty, but not for $4. Very speedy delivery. I really wanted to love this little hole in the wall pizza parlor, my sister and I tried this place yesterday and I have to say I was very disappointed. I'm giving this place two stars because the girl behind the counter was friendly and the pizza wasn't bad, the crust was pretty good. Let's talk about the appetizers, we ordered chicken wings and meatballs. The chicken wings were hard and disgusting. They had obviously been sitting up for a while and were refried, a big no no, dont ever take advantage of customers like this, first of all it can be a contributing factor to food poisoning. The season on the wings were OK, we ordered lemon pepper and hot. The wings were definitely not worth the price. The meatballs does not taste homemade like the menu suggest! So gave this place another chance. Ordered using this app instead of calling in my order. They called to let me know they were out of the Gold Peak Tea I ordered. No big deal there. When I got my food I had to toast my own garlic bread. It was like they just put the butter and garlic on the bread and boxed it. I ordered the Ravioli, which is usually great, but not this time. It was completely nasty. Tasted like the sauce was burnt. Contacted them and they refused to refund me. Told them they could come get the order. So I then contacted Yelp. The nice woman I was dealing with contacted Pizza Live and tried to get them to authorize the refund. She said they got all defensive, and refused. She did manage to update my receipt to take off the tea I didn't get. I'll be contacting my bank to dispute the charges. I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM HERE AGAIN. Just ordered lunch for a contract job here in the Museum District and I'd been hankering for a -strong- greek salad. Niko Niko's has kind of lost it's touch over the years for me, so I gave this place a shot with delivery. Loved it. The salad was huge and fresh - the garlic and olive oil 'dressing' was just what I love. Read: If you don't like being smacked in the face with garlic taste, don't go with this dressing. Tomatoes and cucumbers were crisp and crunchy, pepperoncini unusually mild. Eh, can't be perfect I suppose. Olives felt just a bit mushy too. The garlic bread side was a bit on the thin side, but was just enough for my tastes. The Mozzarella Sticks have room for improvement. The breading tastes like what other places would use for fried mushrooms. The marinara 'dip' it comes with is watery. The -ONLY- reason it's getting a fourth star instead of three from me is for that salad. If you're not a fan of salad: 3 star review. read more

If you've considered going here...DONT! This is the first negative review I have ever been compelled to write on Yelp. The person taking my order was BEYOND rude to both me and my husband. We purchased a Groupon to use at Pizza Love and I called placed the order and gave him my voucher #. We don't use Groupons often and he didn't say we needed to print and bring the voucher with me. My husband arrived and instead of apologizing and telling him he needed the voucher he yelled at him that he can't redeem or do anything. I then called (from home as I was taking care of a newborn baby) and he yelled at me that he could do nothing and that I "should have known better". This is not how you gain customers! This is how you create enemies! I will tell everyone I know never to go here...including you reading this. Despite the reviews, I had to try this place for myself especially since I had already purchased a deal for $7 for $15 worth of pizza. It was Super Bowl Sunday (yes, this review is definitely past its due date), and my boyfriend and I had just finished watching the Aeros game downtown, so we figured might as well make it easy and order a pizza. We called in and ordered a pepperoni pizza and hot wings. The person on the phone never told us the amount for the order or how long it would take before he hung up the phone. I figured if someone is ordering by phone, it is just good customer service to tell them the total and amount of time the order will take ahead of time, so that your customer is ready to pay and is there at the right time rather than waiting for the order to be completed. So that part was minus on their customer service skills. We didn't really know where the place was, but knew the area, so we drove down Montrose and found saw a sign that looked like a Pizza, but had an ice cream cone looking thing on it. We drove past it and saw that it was it and I was a bit excited because maybe I could get some ice cream as well! The parking sucks since it is a small lot and has to complete with Starbucks, Einsteins, and Berryhill. We were lucky that a car was pulling out just as we were pulling in. I went into Pizza Love and was not really impressed with the interior. It didn't seem like a place that I would actually want to sit in and enjoy a pizza. The ice cream section didn't even have ice cream in it! Of course our order wasn't quite ready yet since we obviously got there before our order was ready (if only they told us how long it would take!). We waited there for about another 10 minutes and finally got our order. The total came up to about 21 bucks...a little pricey for pizza and wings. The pizza and wings smelled good on the way home and we both couldn't wait to try them out. I started with the wings and it was a disappointment. They were a bit burnt, making them quite dry. Even ranch dressing couldn't save these little guys...so disappointed. The pizza was ehh...nothing spectacular about it. It was a little greasy which can sometimes be enjoyable at times but it would make it better if it was greasy goodness and not greasy blah! The cheese was more like a stiff blob on the pizza rather than a ooey, gooey pull away from your mouth type of cheese. I ordered the Montrose--sub par crust (appropriately thin but tasteless), no sauce, almost no cheese, and the vegetables all tasted like they'd come out of a can and then sat around too long. I ate one slice and threw out the rest, it bordered on inedible. Fiance's meat-and-cheese pizza was marginally better, but still not good.
