Buffalo Chicken Pie and Vodka Pie from Pizza Lupo
    Stuart H.

Pizza Lupo is worth whatever it takes for you to get. Literally... go... get it. We tried the buffalo chicken pie and vodka pie. Both were packed with flavor and the crust may be my favorite crust in the burgh! Authentic pizza cooked in a no flair, authentic kitchen/store front. Benefits: They have a nice parking lot next to the store, which is a huge plus down in Lawrenceville. They have amazing staff to get you in and out with your pies.

11/13/2025 Ate list: Pepperoni, Sausage, Red Onion - 6.7 Plain Cheese - 6.2 Second chance on this spot. Frequently featured on nearly every Best Pizza of PGH list so we felt we'd give them another shot. And frankly. I don't get the hype. I respect it but it is not the best of this "type" of pizza. It looks beautiful. Flavors are good. It's just not great or amazing. And at that, it is overpriced. 2 small pizzas at $40 w/o tip. I dont think we're coming back. This might be a top spot in the city for most, but not for us.

Absolutely amazing. We did a tour of Pittsburghs 8.2 crew. They were all excellent but this one was our favorite. We only got the plain cheese but it was amazing. Shout out to the crew! There were really friendly and constantly hustling.

    Our toddlers enjoyed it too!

It's been a minute since we went to Pizza Lupo but I'm going through food photos on my phone to catch up on reviews. Pizza Lupo is a pretty busy and popular establishment so I'd recommend calling in your order early/first thing when they open. Maybe it has slowed down a bit but we first heard about it when we saw a reel about it on Instagram. A popular foodie was eating pizza joints. We got a grandma style of the 10th warmer and it was SO good. The toppings were well balanced, flavorful, and generous. I wasn't incredibly hungry when we picked up our pizza, which was unfortunate because I wanted to eat so much more, but it made for good leftovers! I didn't go inside the restaurant, but had my husband go inside to pick up, so I can't speak to the ambiance, but there's no seating at the shop so we too our pizza to highland park to enjoy. Looking forward to going back soon! Well worth our drive from cranberry.

Heard so many wonderful things about this place and not one of them is a lie. Currently my newest favorite pizza place in the burgh. Staff were very kind and service was quick, especially for how busy they were!

I honestly don't know what to say other than - run, don't walk to pizza lupo. They work hard and bake even harder. One of Pittsburghs BEST.

Hands-down, this is the best pizza in Lawrenceville. Though, I do prefer their traditional pies over the thicker crust 'grandma style'. Occasionally, these do come out a little to burn, which is frustrating, but part of the process with genuine wood-fired oven pizza. So just always check the pie before you carry out. This is a hole in the wall shop with no dine-in and they don't sell by the slice. You'll definitely want to plan your order ahead and check their hours because several days of the week they are closed and on the days they are open it's a limited business window. This is not a late-night pizza joint by any means. But for anyone who has a passion for good pizza, it's a must try! Our favorite the 10th warder is pictured below. It's got a kick!

I know this will be an unpopular opinion but my friends and I did not like this pizza. It was all of our first times trying pizza lupo and it was not matching the hype. The crust was burnt, and overwhelmed any other flavor. The sauce wasn't really a factor. The ricotta dollops and hot honey additions were nice but for the price, it just didn't seem worth it.

Was looking for take out pizza and found this place. Quick and friendly service. The pizza was delicious and we also tried the meatballs. Cannot wait to go back the next time I am in town.

A rotating takeout staple in my household! Pizza Lupo is such a treat and a guaranteed amazing pie! This time, we ordered the 10th ward and I think I've found my new favorite pie. The toppings are incredible and work so well together. Ordering on the app makes pickup super easy and I look forward to ordering again!

Not only is this a super cute location but the workers are all really nice. Even is the pizza was bad I woulda been happy. The pizza? Fantastic I'm glad we went.

    Drunk meatball (small)
    Olivia A.

Pizza Lupo is easily one of the best pizza shops in Pittsburgh. Amazing crust and high quality ingredients. I tried the Drunk Meatball which was a vodka sauce pie with ricotta, meatballs, and basil. It was fantastic! Very little sauce, but not too little. And the prices are very reasonable for a "small" that is 14". However, the online ordering clock was way off and my pizza was pretty cold. There was no one waiting on a Friday at 6 p.m. but the site still said my wait would be an hour. I will definitely be back, but I might disregard the timer. There's nowhere to sit, so be prepared to pick up and go (a quick process.)

The hype is real here! When calling ahead and/or ordering online, be prepared for a long wait...it's totally worth it. I got the 10th Warder specialty pie - tomato sauce, aged mozz, sweet sausage, pepperoni, ricotta, hot honey drizzle - it was amazing! The crust was perfect (might be some of the best crust in town?!) and I love me some tufts of ricotta lol. I can't wait to try more of the specialty pies!

It's a proper neighborhood butcher shop on Butler Street, the kind of place that had mostly disappeared around here. They do whole animal butchery with meat sourced from local Pennsylvania farms, and you can feel how much the folks working there care about what they're doing. It's not a huge space, just a display case full of cuts, a wall of house made goods, and a small sandwich menu, but that's part of the charm. The staff were friendly and happy to point me in the right direction. The sandwiches are what really got me though. The smash burger is fantastic, a double patty on a challah bun with that special sauce, and you can actually taste the quality of the beef, which makes sense given the whole operation is built around good meat. I also grabbed some of their house made pastrami, and it did not disappoint, tender and full of flavor. Knowing everything is made in house, right down to the bacon and sausages, makes it even better. If you live nearby and don't have a butcher yet, this is the one.

Love the decor in the shop. There were many prepared food options in the fridge, as well as various cuts of meat/preparations of it. We got two sandwiches, the cheesesteak and the marbella. I'm positive that if I went back to the shop they would've remedied the situation, but I didn't feel it was necessary! The sandwich we did end up with was good as well, unsure which one it was though. Very fair prices, and our dog was so happy we brought him home a bone as well! Looking forward to coming back and trying everything they have to offer.

Usually I order online and every time I have walked in to find it bagged and ready to go. They did change ordering systems a few months ago which had a few kinks to work out. The food is mostly sandwiches and rice or vermicelli bowls. There also is soup, summer rolls and a cucumber salad. In addition they have coffee and tea, lemonade and bubble tea. I have not tried any drinks but I would like to. My go to is the Feelin' Tofu Banh Mi which has the tofu, veggies and yummy sauce and I like to add some jalapeños for some kick. The bread is flavorful with a little crunch that holds up pretty well. The veggies give such a light tasty crunch. I do feel that the sandwich could do with a little more on it portion wise both for value but also to be more balanced with the amount of bread. It is a tasty sandwich though. We also like to get the tofu summer rolls. The balance here can be a bit off with too much lettuce. However, the sauce is absolutely delicious and could make just about anything taste good. This is a great place to stop by for lunch or dinner (but beware they close at 6) or just to grab a drink during the day. We like to pick up the food to take to a brewery to eat. It is usually pretty easy to find street parking close by. Friendly service and tasty food.
