I've ordered from this place a few times and try to keep it simple.... cheese and pepperoni pizzas are good. Thin crust and very good sauce. We also get the fried dough, it's good- portion is small though. Also, I always order the dough with sugar on the side but they always deliver it with a overwhelming amount of sugar on it...not sure why they don't follow directions on this. Overall if you're looking for a good pizza place that delivers- give it a shot. However, I never order gourmet pizzas to be delivered- only if I'm eating it at the restaurant. This time I decided to order the "elm city special" pizza (for delivery-mistake). The pizza was dripping with oil and soggy... the box was wet. The tomatoes were cut into big cubes instead of thin slices as if they were made for a salad. Just not a good pizza. Lastly, I always order small pizzas. They have on a couple occasions brought me a large instead of my small (at no additional charge). Although I appreciate the gesture- the "free upgrade" is always colder then the others... obviously this upgrade was a mistake made from another order and they throw it in my order to get rid of it. I would rather have what I ordered and get it hot- then the "free upgrade" aka mistake. I'll continue to order here as a quick solution to dinner and would recommend trying it. If they worked on their consistence and order taking, it would make this place a bit better. read more

Living between da farma and ave x and ocean parkway there were several top 10's to choose from! Long story short, our friends steered us in the right direction. To put it simply, we loved it! I'd consider myself a chicken parmesan connoisseur of sorts growing up near new haven and having had over 1,000 grinders/entrees in my life (once a week since I was 10 years old). I can basically live off if it if need be. That said, imagine my excitement when less than a mile away from my home I find this little gem with a truly exceptional chicken parm philosophy. Lot of chicken, lightly breaded, pounded thin like I like, zesty sauce and then toasted in the oven to crisp the bread and melt the cheese. So good. Get it, eat it, you'll thank me later. read more

I have always loved their Sicilian pizza, that it why I am giving 3 stars but tonight I wanted to try a pasta so I ordered BakedZiti with meatballs, I can't say anything good about the baked ziti, it was horrible it had more cheese then I've ever had on ziti I could have saved all the ricotta and mozzarella and could have made 3 or 4 more trays of ziti out of it,the flavors were awful and hardly any pasta in comparison to cheese. The dinners come with a salad that would have been great except I don't care for roasted peppers with cranberries ,those flavors are not well together they should use with either or, not both and if tomatoes are not in season DON'T use them it makes the salad look awful., and honestly not edible anyway. I really hate to do this: BUT--This place is simply horrible. Last night's pizza was dough with warmed-over toppings Yep. Raw yeasty dough. Okay, so we deviated from normal and got a Sicilian-style pizza which is a thicker crust type of thing. When I arrived early, it was ready. The box wasn't hot---my first clue. Garlic knots: Dry and BURNED.There used to be an enthusiastic man there who greeted you warmly and chatted you up. Pizza was good then. Now there's and atmosphere of gloom over the place. The kids who work there look like their other summer jobs fell through...or college "didn't work out" and they simply could not give a rat's a$$. I don't usually write reviews especially bad ones but this was so bad that I have to. Especially since they have four stars which to me seems impossible. We just ordered onion rings, jalapeño poppers, buffalo wings, and a steak and cheese grinder. Everything was bad. First off the food was cold. So that was sad. I don't believe that the jalapeño poppers were cooked as long as they should have been. Cuz not only were they cold but they were soggy and not really browned. On the other hand the onion rings were over cooked. The buffalo wings were the thick breaded kind which I don't like and they didn't even put the hot sauce on them, they put it on the side. That's not buffalo wings. And plus now I have to pour this cold sauce on my already cold wings. Finally they made the "steak and cheese" grinder with gyro meat. It was gross to say the least. So they pretty much managed to ruin a bunch of frozen apps and then couldn't even make a steak-um sandwich. Threw $30 in the garbage. Disappointing and will not be returning. read more

I have been ordering here for a long time and before tonight would have considered it my go-to for pizza. Unfortunately I'll never go back in after an unnecessary altercation with the owner/chef. I walked into pick up my order and noticed one of the pizzas had multiple cheeseless spots so I asked the guy behind the counter to add some cheese and just throw it back in the oven. After consulting the chef who touched the pizza and moved the cheese around, I was told it was fixed. I said that's fine and asked to see it where I noticed it looked pretty much the same-he said when they cut it, the cheese moved. I asked again if he wouldn't mind adding some cheese to which he told me "it has enough, and doesn't need more." This is where I'm going to end the review because it went back and forth and I asked to be refunded after he threw cheese at it and argued with me. I've never been told how I should have things and as a service, a restaurant that charges $27 for a large specialty pizza (which I'm fine with) I'd like it the way I ordered it and to be happy with it. I've never had an argument once and been made to feel like I was in the wrong. Professionalism did not exist, he was obnoxious and I will never go back. read more

Great pizza and one of the friendliest owners we have ever met! The other day my husband, baby and I were involved in a car accident right in front of their spot... the owner came out to make sure we were all okay and brought us some water. Later he came back out and invited us in, but all our stuff was outside because our car was towed, he was so kind and brought us pizza saying, "You had a bad day - the least I could do is make it a little better." Hands down my favorite pizza in Fairfield. So much better then Pepe's and colony. The Mediteranian foccia bread pizza is amazing. It's thin crust with a ton of garlic and herbs. An another favorite is the grilled veggie pizza (not to be mistaken w the regular veggie which is good but not as good as the grilled veggie) It's got an ton of Porta Bella mushrooms, zucchini and fried eggplant and other veggies and fresh mozzarella. The staff is so kind and accommodating. If you go to location instead of delivery it's looks like a hole in the wall in a random strip mall but don't judge the book by its cover. Unfortunately, I WANT to love this place but it's always hit or miss.. with more let downs than I am willing to put up with. My neighbor swears by this place, but she also hates to cook (I don't). We have ordered here probably 8-10 times in the past couple of years. Last night was yet another variation on the theme of what has gone wrong, when it DOES go wrong. (A few times it's been quite good!) The pizzas were soggy despite asking them to make sure they weren't (their Elm City pizza, when done right, with fresh basil/tomato/garlic is really delicious). Olive oil was dripping off (common occurrence), and they lost our order (even though I put it on a credit card when I called, they called me back a few minutes later since they had "lost" the info so I had to repeat it), and then my husband shows up as instructed half an hour later to pick it all up.. and the order hadn't been put in yet. So last night was, sadly, the last time. The quality is too hit or miss, the management harassed and unaccommodating, and it's too expensive to warrant putting up with it. Especially since we had several hungry teens here for a sleepover and my husband had to wait nearly an hour to come home with two semi-hot pies and some so-so greek salads. read more

My previous order was for a calzone, for some reason they put parsley stems inside of it. I don't know what Lauren is talking about. I have been eating at Pizza Med for 5 years and it has gotten alot better since 2005. I believe there #1 pizza is their sicilian. I am from NY and miss great pizza, but PIzza Med fills that void. My friends and I love the Sicilian and we order it on a weekly basis, it is as good as the sicilian slices from Sal's in Mamaroneck and Glenville Pizza in Glenville. I have gotten their sicilian 2 ways, regular with cheese and just sauce and fresh garlic, and both are delicious. One thing to note is I have only ever had their pizza delivered, I have never gone in and had something reheated, so everythign I get from there is fresh. In addition to their sicilian, the regular pizza is pretty good too. It is very thin, and I recommend ordering it well done so it is extra crispy. I defintiely recommend this place to friends, give it a shot. And if you put toppings on your pizza, don't compain that it sux, cause pizza is meant to have on its own, not with peperoni. Oh and the owner is a great guy to boot! read more
