Very cozy and clean place. We were greeted promptly seated. The staff is very warm and inviting. There was a small stability issue with our thanks that was quickly addressed before I even had a chance to ask an about it (A+). My wife really enjoyed the sangria. It had a nice portion of fresh fruit in it as well We order pizzas and a calzone. All were great. I can't recommend the red margarita pizza enough! My wife and I came here during happy hour and had a great experience. We sat at the bar and ordered cocktails which were great. The bar staff made good drinks and we tried some of the food which we enjoyed too. Very nice meatballs, we liked them very much. The sauce was delicious. Came by on a Monday night with some friends to get dinner and take advantage of the 1/2 priced wine bottles deal. We started off with the truffle fries, mozzarella sticks, and bread. They were all very yummy and decent sized portions (i've attached photos). We then ordered 2 bottles of wine. Both were $14-20 or so. For our main course we decided to split a few dishes and go family style - which I'd definitely recommend! We got a half cheese and half pepperoni pizza, which was good, but nothing to write home about. We also got the large chicken parm and large penne alla vodka which were both delicious! Both came out fast. Mozz sticks were crunchy and great. Their sauce is good too! Garlic Knots were decent but were cold. We wished they were warm. My SO got his usual cheese pizza and I decided on a Insalata Della Casa and a tapas portion of the chicken scarpariello. Both were good. I drive past this place often and I finally decided to give it a try. It turns out I picked the perfect day as they have all day happy hour on Tuesdays. I ordered the large chicken parmigiana since I wasn't sure the tapas version would be enough. We ordered 2, one with pasta and one without. The no pasta version came with a side of veggies and potato wedges, the pasta version came with just the chicken and the pasta, a little odd but it was good. I ordered a lunch delivery based on the stellar reviews---most of which I have discovered to be false. I ordered the Caesar salad, penne alla vodka, home made bread. Yelp alerted me that my food was out for delivery, but waited..,.and waited...,and waited. No call, text, email. Radio silence. Famished and in between work meetings, I finally checked at the door and there was a bag with now a lukewarm pasta dish and a lukewarm salad. Yuck. The salad had NO dressing on it nor on the side. There were at most 5 shaved Parmesan pieces in a sea of Romaine. 5 stale croutons all in a PFAS leaching plastic container way too big for its contents. Penne alla vodka was great, but the price was ridiculous for the tapa size. The homemade bread was so disappointing. Hard, tasteless. Delivery and service deliveries are way too high (on top of expected tip). Fake or fraudulent reviews to boost a rating is a low down and seriously misleading ploy and an epic fail when the food and service do not live up to even mediocre standards. read more

Our go to pie place especially for anchovies and pepperoni. The marinara pie is also a favorite. I've tried a few non-pizza items and let's say, pizza is always the star. Stick with pies and you can't go wrong. We've never eaten in but takeaway is always easy and the food stays hot. read more

When in Fairfield, everyone will tell you that for pizza you must have Sally's or PePe's or venture out to New Haven for 'real' apizza. Yes. Those places are fine. But if you want excellent pizza plus amazing salads, fresh pastas, and delicious after meal treats, then Romanacci is your place. I'd done my research. So after a long campus tour, I bee lined to the restaurant with the kiddo. I was a bit wary at first. The parking lot was a bit sketchy as was the strip mall beside it. But the moment we walked inside, we were transported into a calming yet trendy Italian eatery. There is a lot of rough hewn wood, mossy accoutrements and stylized wine bottles - tastefully done. It is quite spacious with a patio and inside dining plus the bar area. The service was amazing. It's been a long time since I've been about to enjoy a leisurely lunch. One during which I could savor my food, enjoy conversation, and simply feel at ease. Our server was attentive and friendly. The table service was well executed. We were able to relax and enjoy the experience of a mom and daughter day out. As for the meal? Wow! I ordered the Arugula & Mela salad. It was full of vibrant greens, chopped apple and celery, slivered almonds and an abundance of shaved hard cheese. It was tossed in a light citrus-tinged dressing. It was delicious. I could have probably ordered a protein with it and made it my meal. But I was too tempted by the pasta selection. So I ordered a tapas sized portion of the strozzapreti with pancetta and black pepper. As my grandmother used to say, I almost swallowed my tongue it was so good. The pasta was al denté and coated with the lightest amount of a velvety sauce. It was very much a cacio e Pepe with pancetta. Sooooo good. The kiddo ordered a classic pizza and she smiled from ear to ear. She is not at all fond of New Haven's penchant for charred crusts. But she does love the crispy yet slightly chewy type of crust that was served to her by Romanacci. She ate the entire pizza not because she was super hungry but because it was so delicious that she didn't want to waste it, which frankly would have happened during our later car ride. To quote her, she had 'regrets, but not because of the pizza. [Her] belly was so full that [she] didn't have room for dessert.' But I had room, so I ordered an espresso and a crème brûlée. The espresso was silky and strong. The crunchy sugar shell over the creamy vanilla custard was absolutely delightful and a perfect size for one. Or in our case one and a half - the kiddo couldn't help herself but taste it. My regret was that I didn't also order a half dozen biscotti to-go when I saw them displayed near the rear door. All in all, this was a fantastic place for lunch. Excellent on all marks and we will absolutely return when we are next in Fairfield this fall. read more

The broccoli rabe was bland and the zucchini fries were so thin that it was just breaded dripping with oil and the chicken cutlet pizza was mid because the chicken cutlet itself was almost too burned. My boyfriend and I absolutely love Romanacci's! While I've only tried the pizza, it's consistently fantastic. You can tell the ingredients are super fresh, and the staff is always wonderful. I usually am pretty forgiving when it comes to brunch. This is the exception... We arrived pretty much at open, we're the only table in there for a while. Drinks came out okay, we put in our orders. My partner ordered the hanger steak and eggs, with steak medium. First the steak wasn't even close to medium, it was so over cooked. Second pretty sure it wasn't even the hanger steak cut, it looked like a pork chop. We told the waiter and were pretty much told "sorry it happens a lot, do you want a free cannoli?" I made a reservation for a group of seven. The restaurant was very accommodating. They set up a nice table for us in the front of the restaurant by the window. We all really enjoyed our selections which were eggplant rollatini, chicken parm, meatballs, short rib, and penne vodka! I can also recommend the sangria and especially the desserts! I had been here a few times before with a smaller party, and knew they offered biscotti for dessert, which I was looking forward to. Sometimes you just want a few tasty cookies with your coffee! My brother and his son had the Italian cheesecake, and they said it was really delicious. To top it off, two others in my party enjoyed fabulous looking (and large!) crêpes. This restaurant offers small sizes, tapas, if you'd like. I had a salad and a tapas size chicken, which was perfect for me. I really enjoyed the option of the smaller size. We are Italian and not easily pleased with Italian food that we eat out, but we do like Romanacci very much! It's a solid neighborhood restaurant. We were welcomed and treated very warmly. The waitstaff was attentive to our group throughout the dinner. This is a good place to go with your family that doesn't break the bank and offers good quality food. WHEW! I love the Westport location and have been ordering delivery from there for years. When I heard about the Fairfield location, which is much closer to me, I couldn't have been more excited. We had dinner there last night. From cocktails, to wine, to appetizers, main course and dessert, everything was amazing. I would say that our group enjoyed a variety of dishes including pizza, lamb chops, pasta and desserts. Everything was so well prepared. They just opened and service was a tad inconsistent but this is perhaps because the restaurant was packed. The servers were so personable and I am sure that this will be remedied. I had the worst meal ever at this restaurant. I ordered linguine and clams only to find out that the clams were raw and not cooked. They were arranged around the plate of pasta. Who does that? You also have to pay for bread. Again, who does that? The pasta was also undercooked and dry.
