My hubby Grant and I are moving to Austin, and after ordering our usual from Pizza Plus, we got to talking how this is the pizza we will miss the most. It's definitely not our favorite pizza in the neighborhood -- "favorite" is a toss up between Toby's and Peppino's. So, if it's not our favorite, why will we miss it most? We'll miss it because every now and then we get a very specific craving that only Pizza Plus can satisfy. A concoction that we've self-dubbed the "V & G": SMALL whole wheat pizza Garlic Onions Fresh Tomatoes Broccoli Mushrooms Zucchini Usually paired with their amazing artichoke salad. Perfection. And guilt-free, coz hey all these colorful veggies plus a wheat crust means its gotta be healthy, right? ;) The first time we ordered the "V&G" we were craving tons of veggies, and weren't sure we could get away with loading so many toppings on a single pie. I don't think any other pizza place can pull it off as well -- something about their sauce and cheese works really well with veggies (not as much with the meats we've tried). We once tried a "large" pie version -- the structural integrity just wasn't the same. Go for the smaller pie if you're gonna load up on toppings. Sometimes their delivery takes long and they once brought us a wrong pie (which they corrected) so not 100% reliable but always worth satisfying that peculiar craving. read more

I like PIzza Plus. My wife and I have eaten at the restaurant many times and have enjoyed their food and the service. My issue is with their timing on pick up orders. It's never what they tell you on the phone. Tonight I was told my order would be ready in 25 minutes. My wife and I got there in 25 minutes and had to wait an additional 35 minutes. Yes, they were very busy, but shouldn't they have factored that in when they provided an ETA? In addition, no apology was offered - just a have a good night. read more

I totally don't have to deny myself a slice of delicious, yummy pizza. Stopped in recently during lunchtime on a Saturday afternoon. Our party of three had no trouble getting a seat and there's table service! The normal waitress had gone home ill and her replacement apologized in advance for any mishaps that may happen during her "first day on the job." No apologies were needed as service was fast, helpful and attentive. The one bummer is that they don't have soy cheese pizza by the slice. However, unlike at least one other BK establishment that does, they actually understand how to melt the cheese! I had to get a small pie, but no worries. Fatty totally demolished it. Amazing mid priced high quality Italian food - I mostly use them for delivery urges- however - I have eaten there and the service was always good and consistent. Favorite menu items: Caesar Salad with grilled chicken is my ultimate favorite, anything Alfredo - but I'm allergic to gluten so I get an order of steamed broccoli with Alfredo sauce, lite appetizer of grilled eggplant with mozzarella and tomatoes, the little guys love the tri-color tortellini in Alfredo sauce. Very good food and excellent service. All the kids who work there are down to earth and hardworking. The food is fresh and the rolls are my weakness. Also, this is gonna sound crazy, but I think Roz who runs the joint has some kind of magical presence. She works behind the counter and you can see her when you enter. Pizza Plus is the best restaurant in park slope, the restaurant never disappoints! Food is always super delicious no matter what you order and staff is super friendly, attentive and very welcoming. I love this place. My kids and I go here weekly for a small vegan pizza (one of my kids is allergic to dairy), mozzerella sticks, and root beer!! Oh, and a Stella for me please... I ordered the pizza plus plus plus for $23. You get to choose 6 different toppings. I had whole wheat dough. It wasn't that bad. This was my first whole wheat pizza and enoughed it very much but now i found another plae. I like that they have vegan options such as soy cheese. Every inch of my pizza wasn't covered with veggies but it was freshly made! They make each pizza fresh when you order it so it does take a lot of time. It was good though. I was so sad when this pizzaria had to close due to fire. Despite my new fitness regime, which had little room for pizza, I hope it would reopen soon, and couldn't wait to return once it did. A few weeks ago, I went there for lunch and had the yummiest pizza. I can't remember the exact toppings (olives, prociutto, and spinach?), but it was divine and I stuffed myself silly. Tried this place after deciding we were in the mood for pizza and searching yelp for places nearby with good reviews. We got a small pizza and an Italian sub to-go. The restaurant is smaller but has several tables and I believe tvs inside. They weren't super busy inside but seemed to be busy in the kitchen so assuming a lot of Delivery orders. Pizza was great, not super thick crust but authentic pizza. The sub was just how I like an Italian sub. Great dressing for sub and also tried their creamy Italian which was equally good. A very reliable place. The pizza is always very good, as are all the other dishes. Clean, inexpensive. We really love how they offer whole wheat crust, faux cheese, and faux meats. I usually get the roll with faux pepperoni. The white-haired woman that's usually working the counter is so sweet and recognizes you. I take my out-of-towner folks here when they visit. Just reopened. I was incredibly impressed by the facilities. They are brand new (since reopening from the fire) and everything is light, fresh, and clean. I also talked with the owner for a while who seems very kind and honest... always a plus in the neighborhood. Also, the prices are very good (1.75 for a cheese slice). No problem with my slice... it was great. I wish I could find something to complain about so my review isn't so glowing, but alas. EDIT: I went back there for dinner. Holy cow, this place is almost a throwback to the idea of your local spot where you could afford to go to lunch several times a week and not feel bad that you're spending a lot of money. The lunch specials are amazingly cheap, 5-8 dollars for paninis, pastas, pizzas and they come with a drink! While the food isn't of high restaurant quality it's good and way better than you would expect from the price. The menu is large, the portions are ample, I love how unpretentious the place is without feeling like a cheap corner pizza joint or deli. There is a tiny courtyard in the back where you can lunch under some giant umbrellas. I would love to revisit next time I'm in the slope and try the pizzas--what a hell of a find. read more

pizza plus serves a quality pie. i had a small cheese with whole wheat crust and fresh basil. its difficult to make a whole wheat crust without it tasting like chalk in the end, but they did a great job keeping it moist and chewy. their sauce and the basil was probably my favorite parts. my gf had a fettuccine alfredo pasta which was ok. I thought the chicken was a little overcooked and the sauce was a bit eggy if that makes any sense. the noodles however were spectacular and elevated the dish. the restaurant itself is a small, home-style place. we had a good seat by the front window. my only complaints about the restaurant were the wobbly table (i lose 20 brain cells through insanity each time a table wobbles) and a weird smell that kept creeping up. sort of like old mop water. overall, a decent place to get a quality pie. read more
