First time trying. Some ppl raved. Not so much. Actually bland taste even with pepperoni. No cheese on 3 slices.

My first bite was a bite of disappointment. I went here even though I've never noticed that this pizzeria even existed in the neighborhood despite living here many decades. When did they open? No idea. I went specifically because one of the reviews mentioned the buffalo chicken roll. Buffalo chicken roll - no spice, no flavor, no "buffalo" sauce. They charge an extra dollar to get a buffalo chicken roll ($11) instead of a standard marinara/cheese chicken roll ($10) and there was no sauce/flavor. You can smell the vinegar but can't taste anything. Not worth it. The actual dough of the roll was soft and doughy (undercooked), no crispness at all. Their chocolate mousse is not made in house but is not bad. Light chocolate on the bottom half, white chocolate on the top half with a little chocolate on the top. The chocolate flavor is very light. It's much better than their chicken roll. They don't sell garlic knots or have any food on display so you don't really know what you're getting until you order. Slices are only available until 5p. I didn't see any rating outside to determine cleanliness but it seemed clean inside. I would not recommend this place. The taste was not good. The price was not good. (Other neighborhood pizzerias close by have chicken rolls for $7-8 that are actually delicious). That's a nope from me. read more

Great find on Yelp! Walking distance to Methodist Hospital. Pizza & Restaurant with tons of options to choice from. They start you off with a nice salad with their homemade Italian cream dressing which was delicious & fresh hot rolls. We had grilled chicken which was definitely delicious a little less cooked it would've been perfect. Best seasoned & fresh broccoli. Fettuccine Carbonara with amazing. The one down fall to this place is no matter how much you specify to add sauce inside their chicken rolls they just refuse to do so. Unsure why this is the case‍. When a recent, previous review mentioned I was eager to try other items on the menu in the future, I didn't realize that the future would be 24 hours later!! Again, in the Park Slope area we were craving a hearty meal and decided to return to Pizza Plus for something other than pizza. First off, since it was a Friday evening, this place was hopping and active specifically with preparations for deliveries (many pizza pies going out for delivery). The people were super friendly and I gathered that the owners and some family members were working behind the counter to make it all happen on this given, busy evening. Pasta was on our mind. Note, all entrees are served with side salads and a basket of the most decadent rolls. Not just any rolls--these warm rolls were the actual pizza dough. Oh my word. Second note, do not step on any scales after such a meal. I decided to go with the veggie lasagna while the other entrée was tortellini with pesto sauce. I really enjoyed the generous salad whereupon the lettuce was crisp and fresh (not yellow and wilted as in some of my experiences at other restaurants ). Coupled with the rolls, the salad nearly felt like a meal in itself. It was a side salad but a generous portion. When my veggie lasagna arrived, it was deeeelicious. Served piping hot topped with a nice red sauce (almost pizza like) and layers of ricotta, spinach and mushrooms. So good and very hearty on a chilly night like this. I also tasted the tortellini and thought it was really good (although I was happy to have chosen the veggie lasagna). There's so much on their menu to choose from and it's such a welcoming restaurant to dine at. Even though there's not much atmosphere, the service and especially the food merits this rating. I have been coming to Pizza Plus for years, even thought I don't live in Park Slope anymore. Not only has Rosalind watched so many families and children grow up eating there, she greets you with kindness and compassion the moment you walk in the door. The prices at Pizza Plus are perfect (considering the overpriced restaurants nearby), and their food is very good and consistent. Every salad on the menu is excellent, and their homemade dressing is awesome!! My daughter loves to watch them make pizza. The pizza is delicious!! I also must have extra rolls with every delivery. Erica is very nice and Melissa is super sweet too. All of the staff are great. The outdoor patio is very cozy during the warmer months. This is a must for families living nearby and I always recommend it to people who are visiting the area. read more

Roz, the owner, is fantastic and makes coming here such a joy. Pizza plus is your basic neighborhood pizza joint with above average pizza and solid pasta and salad dishes. You shouldn't expect less or more. PP isn't fine dining and that's why it works so well. It provides families with solid food at a great price. A night out doesn't break the budget so it will forever be in my weekly rotation. And it has one of the better backyard spaces in the area. Pizza Plus is one of those places I've walked by dozens of times, but because of the way the store front is set up I was never quite sure if they were open. One day I wanted to try a nice pizza place in the area and this came up in my Yelp search (I was literally in a coffee shop on the same block). Pizza Plus is actually a charming mixture of a classic Brooklyn pizza joint and a sit down restaurant. When you walk in there is a long counter with a glass case with pizzas in it (individual slices are available until 5PM). The other side is seating and the rest room is in the back. It looks like the restaurant was renovated recently as the colors and lighting were contemporary looking. The restaurant had a very pleasant atmosphere. I wound up ordering the Bianca Pizza on whole wheat dough and it was *fantastic*. Honestly, most of the time I get whole wheat pizza the crust winds up on two ends of a spectrum. It is either way too chewy (to the point where the dough has trouble breaking/tearing) or it is so dry it's like eating a dry cracker. This is the first time I have ever had a whole wheat pizza where the dough was the *perfect* consistency! I was very happy about this. Even better the combination of cheeses, herbs and oils was absolutely delicious. No ingredient overwhelmed the other. Everything balanced out. The crust had a great balance of chewiness and crispiness. I also ordered a side of broccoli rabe cooked with garlic and it was tasty and well done. Service here was friendly and attentive. The staff really wants to make sure you're taken care of and I heard them answering questions other customers had about the menu in a very friendly manner. The sauce was abit scarce but the underlying flavor was definitely there . You can tell the quality is a notch above the norm. When I first came across Pizza Plus, I didn't think it was a legit pizza joint because clearly it did not belong to Joe, Ray or Luigi... But how wrong I was - their pizza is among the very best I have had in New York, and I'm a lifelong New Yorker! I've now been ordering from there for years now and get the same thing almost every time I order--a large cheese pizza, plain. Their consistency is remarkable. The is always just slightly well-done, the cheese and tomato sauce always tastes fresh, and the crust is so flavorful it could practically stand on its own. (Their BBQ chicken pizza is also pretty darn good, but the very sweet BBQ sauce wears out its welcome after a couple of slices.) Randomly, I also always-ALWAYS-order the tiramisu, because it's my weakness. And let me tell you... it's THE best tiramisu I think I've ever had. Came here during lunch and decided to try their lunch special. They have pasta options that come with bread and a soda. I opted for the linguine with white clams and a pepsi for $7.50. The complimentary bread came with a side of butter, but it was pretty cold when I got it. The pasta took a little longer than expected to prepare, but at least you can assume it was made upon placing the order, and not just being reheated. The linguine was alright. It could use it bit more salt, but I bit into shells in my pasta several times. Pretty good deal for the price in the area. read more

I ordered my food and waited over an hour and a half for my food to get delivered! I had to call the pizzeria two times to get them to even call the delivery guy, the guy that answered the phone to the pizzeria was rushing me off the phone. I can't believe he didn't even apologize for the amount of time I was waiting for my food. Even the delivery guy didn't apologize! My food was cold nothing was taken off of the bill for my inconvenience, I will order somewhere that's farther just not to order here again! It pains me to give this place a poor review because the owners and staff are so nice and the restaurant itself was unpretentious. But I have to be truthful. Prior to this visit I had only picked up a slice during the day, and it was pretty good. So, I finally decided to come over for dinner. I ordered a basic, simple pasta dish that I make at home - linguine and broccoli. The pasta and the broccoli were pretty much tasteless. Part of the problem I think was that the broccoli was significantly under cooked, so it did not absorb any flavors. The dish was dry, not enough sauce. When I make pasta and broccoli I cook the pasta al dente, then put it in the skillet with the already sauteed garlic and the blanched broccoli, and then add some pasta water and finish cooking the pasta for another minute or two. This is a basic cooking technique, and it was evident that this was not done. Also, the minced garlic clearly was out of a jar. But worst of all was the bread. We were brought rolls in which the inside had the taste and texture of raw dough. This is an Italian restaurant - cut up some Italian bread! This place gets a lot of traffic and also the delivery guy was very busy. That must mean the food is pretty good. After working a NPR volunteer gig at Prospect Park Bandshell, I was famished. I looked on my Yelp app and found that this place serves vegan pizza. Sweet. I walked in close to 9pm on a weeknight and the place is full. Bummer, they don't sell pizza by the slice at night. I guess that makes the place a bit classier. I ordered a small vegan pizza and sat at a counter space. It was cool that they had tons of magazines to read and even some random Trivial Pursuit cards to read through. After 15 minutes, my vegan cheese pizza was ready. I was pretty hungry so I just sat at the counter space and greedily devoured 2 slices. Yum, good. Me happy now. Very good vegan pizza and with daiya cheese of course. I really like daiya cheese, has a nice tapioca kick to it. And for $9, it was a good bargain. I also have many slices for the next day also! Counter help and owner were extremely nice and friendly. I live near and have walked by many times, assuming it was a sit down, whole-pie place. But they started putting out a sign offering slices during the days. Cool. It is a sit down place (though very casual), so when you order a slice, you don't do so visually, but off the menu. And they are very friendly, making you feel at home. I'm just not sold on the result. It seems they took a cheese slice and added my selected toppings. That's not too odd, except that my veggie toppings were raw. They were piled on (see photo), which was cool, but also uncooked and therefore not exactly part of a cooked dish. While I appreciate the generosity of product, I would have liked them melding together. Another star if they can fix this. read more

Stop two in my search for a decent slice in Park Slope. But alas, another pizza "restaurant". I'm not getting a slice unless I buy a whole dang pie. Instead I ordered the Baked Ziti with Meat Sauce. Does no one season food in the kitchen anymore? I dislike adding salt to my dishes, but in this case I had to or else I wouldn't have been able to finish it. I am really loving Pizza Plus !!! While perusing the restaurant pages one day we came across pizza plus and discovered they make vegan pizza so we jumped at the chance to try it. I bought 2 personal pizzas one regular cheese and one vegan made with vegan Daiya cheese. We had to wait about an hour and started to become anxious waiting- but WOW! worth the wait! Pizza Plus is my families go to spot for delicious, fresh tasting, great sauce - old school pizza!!! Crispy, cheesy, baked to perfection!!!
