Had steered away from Pizza Plus as prices went up. Decided to give it a shot for delivery from the Mae Ann location. Delivery came hot, fast, and as ordered. They had a wing/pizza combo for a reasonable price. I ordered the wings 'buffalo' style rather than a heat level. When they came there was virtually no sauce on them...though cooked perfectly. I contacted the location and was told that happens with buffalo sauce. The manager on duty, Maria quickly made things right and turned a potential problem into a great customer service interaction. So... pizza: excellent and hot! wings: cooked perfectly and hot. Sauce issue resolved by manager. Really enjoy the wings so much so I still haven't tried the pizza great table sizes and great staff!! The manager Edgar is really a cool guy as well I ordered wings that tasted funny to me and he not only made me new ones in line with what I wanted then told us to keep the 16 brought out at first at no cost, my wife and kids loved them so it was a win/win. My husband and I had lunch at Pizza Plus by accident. We don't eat at fast food restaurants so we ended up here. Walked in and immediately thought of Pizza Factory. They had a lunch buffet going so, to be quick, we just ate off that. There were wings, fries, garlic bread, and a salad bar in addition to a couple of pizzas. I had wings, some fries, and a salad. It was typical salad bar pickings, the fries reminded me of Ore-Ida steak fries (not a bad thing if you like steak fries), and the wings were just okay. At least they weren't cold! Not very much spice at all, they were labeled medium and mild, so I didn't really expect any. It looked as though it was a popular place for school sports teams to frequent after a game. There were a lot of plaques on the wall from these teams. We probably won't be back, but if you have kids, I can see why you would go. This is the second and last time we will ever go here (Prater Way location) for pizza. We were the only customers in there and it took over a half hour to get pizza, garlic cheese bread and fries, and then we had to go ask where it was. The pizza had 2 pieces of pepperoni per slice and was way over priced, the fries were cooked to the point they were hollow inside and the bread had barely any butter on it and was as dry as a bone. There were about 9 employees, 7 or 8 of them were standing around doing nothing but talking to each other and could care less about anything. One was making boxes and another was doing who knows what. We finally had to ask where our meal was, oh didn't you get it? Well, you can see us and it's rather plain to see there is nothing on the table! Anyone that wants good food quickly go to the one on Los Altos and Vista Dr. in Sparks. We've gotten pizzas from this place a few times. My girlfriend is a big fan. They also serve sides like salads and wings. We have not been to their restaurant location (except driving by). We have only ordered their food via delivery. I'll make it extremely simple. This place has amazing, high end pizza that's worth it's fairly high price. While their crust isn't as good as The Pizza Factory (throughout Northern Nevada and California on 395) and their sauce isn't as good as Nu Yalk Pizza (Reno), this place crafts extremely good pizzas. If you want something simple like pepperoni or Hawaiian, I'll bet they do it well, but it's sort of a waste. Pizza Hut or many other mass producers of pizza would probably only be slightly worse and you'd save a bundle. If you're getting some kind of complicated 5, 6, 7 topping combination pizza, this is your place. We've gotten pizzas that have artichokes, sausage, pepperoni, jalapenos, garlic and more and they turned out amazingly good. It's as if they specifically crafted their combination options with the overall composition in mind, not merely tossing on a bunch of toppings. Crust and sauce are solid and do not detract from the pizza, though they don't stand out. Their pizzas are a little bit less oily than say Pizza Hut, but not so healthy that they don't have the indulgent richness that makes pizza so good. You get a card from them upon which they write your total. After twelve entries, you get whatever the average value is of your purchases. So if you get pizza there often, you get a 7 percent discount or so. Delivery times are fairly average and service is about average with occasional missed sides, but everything else done properly. This place isn't killer during a recession so I hope they survive. If you have the money or want a splurge, it's well worth it. read more

We called ahead to make sure you had seating for our whole team. We were told on the phone it's first come first serve. So we come and sat at 3 different tables that no one else was sitting at. A family comes and sits down at the table that my son was sitting at. I told the family we were holding the table for our team and that we already paid for our pizzas. I called they said my card was declined and tried to call back. There was no missed call. I'm super excited to see the newly remodeled location! We have always only done take out with this location, but even before the remodel, the facility is always clean when I arrive and I'm always greeted with a smile. We have food delivered on occasion as well - and it always is on time (if not early), hot, and exactly as ordered. Their pizza is okay as far as pizza goes - it's not the best, but it's not bad at all. Our favorite is the wings - if you order the hot wings - they really are that spicy at all... a lot of times we will order the "hot" mixed with "nitro" or "nitro" mixed with "bbq"... their appetizer platter is always incredible... This is the only Pizza Plus location that I will ever frequent again due to bad experiences at other locations... There's a reason this location has better reviews than the rest. Now, I'm generally a huge fan of Pizza Plus. However, the Prater location is not my fave. Each time we've ordered something from them there has been something wrong. We've done both pick up and delivery and it didn't seem to affect the freshness; either way the fries were soggy, the pizza had the consistency of cardboard, and the wings well... If you can get them to put the right sauce on them they're not half bad. Tonight was the last straw. We ordered two orders of of 1# wings (one the Thai chilli, the other mild), one with fries, and an extra ranch. Over an hour later what we got was two 1# orders of the wings with some sort of BBQ sauce each came with fries, and sans the extra ranch. The fries were so soggy they were falling apart and many of them were bruised/bad prior to cooking (even my dog didn't want them). We will NEVER order from them again. We've had good luck with the MaeAnne location and the one out near Spanish Springs. read more

The four stars is based on the lunch buffet they offer. It's strictly a Monday-Friday deal, 11 a.m.-1:30. Outside of the lunch buffet, I've had a couple of the combo deals (pizza, wings, chicken fingers, fried vegetables, celery, carrot sticks, etc.) and found them to be a bit overpriced for what was offered. This isn't spectacular pizza, but at $6.99 for adults on the lunch buffet, it's a pretty darn good deal. Comparing it to the lunch buffet they used to offer at Godfather's, Pizza Plus is much better, both quality wise and in terms of selection. I took the youngster with me on the last trip, and was pleased that children under 11 were only $3.99, including a drink! Drinks are not included in the adult price, so the total bill for the two of us, including tax, was about $13.50. Still quite reasonable. One slight disappointment as far as the beverages (on the ayce): it's strictly a soda machine or coffee, there's no iced tea. I did notice iced tea was on the "to go" menu, so they must have it in bottles or cans. Beer is available on tap and in bottles as well. I started out with a plate of salad. It's a small salad bar with all your basic ingredients, nothing fancy but it gets the job done. The most important part of the salad bar, to me, would be the bleu cheese dressing to dip the chicken wings in. The wings, dear Yelp reader, are the big reason to hit the lunch buffet, and IMO the primary reason to visit Pizza Plus at all. The pizza's OK, nothing to write home about, but the wings are big, juicy, and, as a friend of mine observed, saucier than a lot of local wings. I'd say they're the best chicken wings in the Reno area. The buffet only includes mild and medium wings, so I always ask for a side of the nitro sauce, which is the ultra-spicy chili sauce. I like to double-dip my wings in bleu cheese dressing and the chili sauce, and since I have my own individual sauces on the side, double-dipping is not a sin, in fact it's encouraged!! Pizza Plus also has a side room that they rent out for parties--I once attended a birthday party there thrown by a Mexican family, who had ordered wings that were actually COOKED in the nitro sauce. They warned me that they were spicy, and I scoffed "no problem, I use the nitro sauce all the time." Seconds later I was wiping the sweat off my brow and reaching for my beer as tears started to well up in my eyes, much to the amusement of my friends... The pizza in the buffet, while not the best ever, gets definite points for variety. On the last visit, they had 3-4 different kinds out at all times, including sausage & veggie combo, pepperoni/olive, pepperoni/jalapeno, ham/pineapple, etc. Besides pizza and wings, the buffet also includes steak fries and BBQ chicken. Steak fries are pretty good, depending on how long they've been under the heat lamp. BBQ chicken were those boneless chunks of pressed chicken coated in a sweet BBQ sauce, I think some places call them "boneless buffalo wings." Not bad, they looked a little dry but were actually pretty juicy inside. It's just hard for me to justify eating them, though, when you've got the real hot wings sitting right there... For an inexpensive buffet, this is a great deal. I noticed that when certain items were getting low, and looking dry and worse for wear under the heat lamps, the staff would remove them and replace with a fresh batch. If you don't mind paying a little more, the specialty pizzas are pretty good, but not up to the level of a place like Blue Moon or the Blind Onion. They offer traditional red sauce, along with "our signature garlic ranch," which I have as yet to try. A fairly recent addition is the "Super Monster Mondo" pizza, which is costly ($29.99 for plain cheese or one topping, $39.99 for four toppings or more). It may be worth it, however, because it's a 24" pizza and (from the photos at least) looks like it's piled high with handfuls of toppings. There's even a "Super Monster Mondo Challenge," where you and a friend have 60 minutes to finish off a 24" Super Monster Mondo "fully loaded." If you finish, Pizza Plus picks up the tab...I'm not sure what "fully loaded" means in terms of what/how many toppings are included, but I'm sure I'd have to be "fully loaded" to try that dare. I'll stick with the lunch buffet for now... There are some arcade games, vending machines with stickers and toys, etc., so this place is definitely geared towards families. It's been packed with people every time I've gone in, and there are usually a few kids running around and loudly terrorizing the place, so if you're seeking a quiet lunch you should probably look elsewhere. I've also noticed that the one on Oddie (in the Kmart shopping center) usually has less business, and can sometimes be a little on the grimy side. Nothing really horrible, it just seems like the Prater location is better maintained. And don't forget the wings...they're a definite "plus" if you ask me!! read more

We order takeout pizza from Pizza Plus on Prater at least once a week and they never fail to satisfy. The staff is always friendly and helpful even when they are very busy (and they usually are!) I have never had to wait in line for more than 10 minutes and my food has always been hot and fresh. The price is great and you get a lot of food for your buck. I have placed orders for pick up at this Prater location twice or thrice, only because the Oddie location wasn't picking up the phone. I assumed because they were very busy. Hence, I called this location. Two of the times I picked up my order from here, I have been "helped" by Melissa. She is seriously the rudest person, I walked up to the counter and from the get-go, her face expression showed how unhappy she was helping me. She asked my phone number, charged for my order, then walked over to get my order. She put it on the counter and just said thank you, without even making eye contact, more like a "thank you, move and get off the counter." I asked her for plates, she rolled her eyes and went to get them, then put them on top. As I checked my pizza, she just yelled Next! And I hadn't even left the counter yet. Soooo rude!!!! Melissa, I think you need a new job where smiling and being nice to customers is not necessary. I will not be visiting this location again any time soon. Stopped in for the lunch buffet, but should have kept on going. The food was mediocre to bellow average. Service was poor. The bland pizza was fresh, however there where only two options. The boneless wings where inedible. The salad bar was fresh, but the offerings where slim. I think this is the only buffet in town that you have to pay extra for a soda. Food cost on soda is like $0.04. The paper cup it's served in costs more. That's just cheap, shitty, and a gouge. Won't be coming back here for anything. read more

A good place to have some pizza! My boyfriend and I are slightly getting annoyed with the rising prices and the pizza sizes shrinking though. Would recommend the pizza buffet on weekdays for a better deal for your money. Try to get there early! The pizza goes fast and sometimes they can not keep up with the volume of customers. Any problem I have had has always resulted in me being told I'm in the wrong, as a Paying customer I expect to get some sort of quality, now I'm not dumb I do see where I am ordering food from and how not healthy it is. Pizza Plus is the best!!! Pizzas are always awesome, their Hawaiian is so amazing!!! I really love all their deep fried fair. And the wings are always my favorite. We always get an extra side of their medium wing sauce to dip the fries in, would highly recommend!! If you have never had Pizza Plus you need to have Pizza Plus!! Best pizza and wings in town. We have been ordering from here for over 15 years, only had trouble once or twice with order not being right. We have had it done-in, delivery and the buffet lunch. All delicious. It's all about the sauce on the pizza. Perfect. I do not eat wings, but my husband does and he loves these. He is not easy to get to like food he does not make himself. The steak fries are a little over seasoned, but always tasty. And I love that your order always comes with carrots, celery and their awesome homemade ranch. I have not been able to duplicate their ranch, so for parties where I bring a veggie tray, I always stop here and buy some. The customer service is a hit or miss as some of their employees do not work well under pressure and it is always busy. Now that I am a Mom, I did notice that there are several electrical outlets that are out in the open and not baby proofed. But if you keep an eye on your kid, this should not be too big of a problem. Father's Day Disgrace! I wanted to send my Dad on Father's day a Calzone and chicken wings to have while watching the golf tournament. They would not take my order. Refused, because I was not going to be there when the order was delivered. I told the order taker that I would take full responsibility for the credit card order. I was put on hold, so the order taker could check with management, and waited 15 minutes. The phone line was checked, but the order taker never returned. I was told they were protecting me from misuse of my card. Well I new what I was doing, and that the order would be delivered to my dad. I could have even called Pizza Plus, when my dad called me that the order arrived. Backwards thinking..the customer isn't right with this restaurant... Although this isn't my first time eating at pizza plus, the staff and manager at this location need much improvement. For starters the food was overly cooked to the near being burnt and the order being incorrect after reviewing several times with the cashier over the phone as this was a delivery and the location had my order already on file. The manager Jackie, needs to learn a few more lessons in customer service and respect. Delivery nearly took two hours to arrive to the home in which we were notified 45 to an hour. This is our go to location for a number of reasons. They NEVER mess up our order. I'm a picky person and like light sauce on my pizza and for some that could be hard to establish a right about of "light" and every time the pizza is uhhhmazing! Perfect! The wings are always slobby (we order them that way) and they even give me an extra side of hot sauce (free of charge!) because I like to eat it with my fries and pizza and my husband eats the wings and uses the generous amount of extra sauce for his pizza and fries. The customer service we get is always on point. They are polite and always smiling. We tend to clean up after ourselves ei. Take our dishes back up to the counter because everything it always so great I want to do my part and help where I can for the excellent service and food. We always give them props on the way out.
