I will start by saying I tend to gravitate more towards Meats even though I do love pizza. The majority of the time I go there for my family the chicken is very dry. Sometime the chicken has a starting to taste burnt flavor. Never bad, but it is there. Even when the very kind staff bring out piping hot new chicken, it is almost rubbery. I think it is how they brine it because the flavor is great. The salt is worked all the way through the chicken. They do a chicken wing night on Thursdays that I was excited for and wish they would use far less sauce on the wings. It is a great place for little kids that want all of these items. Just left Pizza Ranch in Muskegon in the six years I have been going this is the worst experience I have ever had. I know you can't do much about loud obnoxious guests that sit right behind you but you can do something about the staff that encourages and participates in such disruption. The manager Brook was very aware of the situation because she was told. She engaged longer than most. I am not against people talking and interacting by no means but when you and a guest are the only ones to be heard in a restaurant full of people and know you are disturbing other guest that paid the same as everyone else to enjoy their meal be professional and run your restaurant. And this is the very first time in six years I have been going was the whole crew stomping and marching and clapping around the restaurant. I understand there are favorite guests. As a paying customer as well we should be treated with the same consideration especially when you were already told there was a problem. Unfortunately that is my last visit to Pizza Ranch simply because there is no consideration for all the guests just a chosen few. This is a first and the last. I can't believe I'm doing this, but this place is 5 stars excellent! Normally you go to a buffet and you know what to expect - lukewarm and picked-over food, a place in need of a good scrubbing, somewhat absent waitstaff, and sometimes a hefty bill. This place is completely opposite. They were so friendly and warm when we arrived. They explained the buffet, and even that we could request a specific pizza for them to add to the buffet if we wished. Everything was well-stocked, clean, and organized. Drink station had lots of soft drink and tea options, with also a couple of coffee options. Everything was clean and in working order. Now, the food. The fried chicken was absolutely delicious! It was hot and crispy, with perfectly cooked, fall off the bone chicken inside. They had plenty of it, and none of it was fossilizing like you might see at other places. The salad bar was expansive and had everything I like for my salad. They had tons of vegetable, meat, and cheese options, with crunchy additions, pudding, and sides for other buffet foods like sour cream and butter. The cheesy breadsticks were delicious, they tasted like Pizza Hut cheese sticks but less greasy. They have a marinara sauce station for dipping. The pizza was excellent - it's all very thin crust, very small pizza so one or two pieces probably won't cut it. But this way we got to try several types of toppings instead of being stuffed after one slice. The dessert pizzas looked great, though I didn't have any myself. My friend got a small helping of the vanilla soft serve and it was delicious just as expected. I had to force my friend to come to a pizza buffet because it doesn't sound too great out loud. But he kept going back for more and more! He and I both had a wonderful meal with a wonderful waitstaff. This place hires quality workers who come to your table with a smile. They are quick and efficient, and I was sure to leave them a few dollars for their hard work! I experienced Pizza Ranch for the first time after hearing my boyfriend's family rave about their pizza and the fried chicken. The buffet consists of fried chicken, pizza, mashed potatoes, homemade potato chips, biscuits and gravy, veggies (they're canned, let's just be honest here), a salad bar, and a dessert bar with soft serve ice cream. The ambiance are sort of Western/cowboy themed. Make sure you COME HUNGRY!!! There are probably 12-15 kinds of pizza on the buffet at any given time. However, if you want a pizza made special for you, they'll do it and you get first dibs. The rest of the pizza can either stay at your table or will be added to the buffet. Lunch is $10.25 and dinner is $12.49 with drinks included. I would imagine they have a rate for children, but I didn't notice it. Staff seemed very friendly and attentive with clearing off our plates. Make sure to download the Pizza Ranch app. You earn points and if you're going with a big group, you'll earn those points even quicker! I got a $10 reward from our lunch outing. Chose was the greater. Excellent choice! Chase was super friendly and just who you would want at the start of a restaurant visit. The pizza was realy good. We came here after several very bad experiences at 'The Red Tomato' on Sternberg Ave the past few months. Pizza is very good for a buffet and they will make whatever you want and bring it to you promptly (unlike Red Tomato where you can wait nearly an hour for a nasty pizza). The chicken is amazing and rivals dedicated chicken places, even higher end (I think it is much better than Zhenders in Frankenmuth, MI which really screwed with my head being a buffet and all). Juicy, and hot with the perfect blend of herbs and spices. Price was good, and the fountain drinks were mixed right and not watered down. Staff was EXTREMELY friendly and attentive. My fiance tried the BBQ Chicken and said it was much better then it should be (albeit a little cold). The other nice thing is if you have any requests, they are happy to fill those for you. The cool thing about this is that I saw them bring the pizza to the table and serve it to you before putting it on the buffet if you had requested it. Just a nice extra step. The $5 delivery fee (and tip) isn't adequate to cover your trouble at satisfying a customer? Yours is a buffet, how would my order be problematic given you make pizza all day long? MY absolute favorite...the dessert pizzas! We are completely addicted to the Cactus Bread (a dessert pizza with a cinnamon streusel). The restaurant is very clean. The staff is very friendly. The price is more than fair. A year or two ago it was hard to pass up the Red Tomato and drive farther to Pizza Ranch because Red Tomato was considerably less expensive...that is NOT the case any more. I was in town on vacation and I'd never even heard of Pizza Ranch, but I checked out their website and figured it was worth a shot. Wow, I'm glad I did. Their buffet is just awesome. The pizza in general is fine, nothing special but not bad at all, although several people with me noted that the taco and BLT pizzas were especially good. What really sets Pizza Ranch apart from regular pizza buffets are all the non-pizza items. The dessert pizzas and "cactus bread" were great. Likewise the fried chicken was simply amazing when it is piping hot, especially when topped with some of the sauces (buffalo, BBQ, etc.). Also, this place was very kid-friendly with items like chicken fries and fresh chips. Other items of note were the potato wedges and cheesy bread sticks. I didn't have anything I didn't like. The service was very good, and I really liked how they would make any special-request pizza for you and bring it right to your table when you order the buffet.
