On the recommendation of a friend we stopped in a late lunch. Being a Monday, mid-day, the place was pretty quiet but the waitress was very attentive and we were able to get the primo table on the patio overlooking the Arkansas River. I ordered a Row Me cocktail and my husband had a Sangria, both refreshing and delicious. We ordered a small River Guide pizza which was 6 large slices (we took home 2). Be aware it has tons of garlic cloves and jalapenos on it. It was very tasty but spicy. Great meal with a great view.

Corey was super friendly , fresh tomatoe basil soup was magnifico texture, the beet salad was fresh with roasted red pepper goat cheese. We will return for fresh pasta and sauce !!

Our view from a table on the patio! March 2nd.

Excellent pizza! I look forward to going back. It's a bit pricey, especially if you make your own with a lot of toppings. It's in the best location and the patio views of the Arkansas River are really nice!

We got a '20 pizza 1/2 Arkansas Pepperoni and the other 1/2 being Rio Grande, would highly recommend this place!

Our waiter was great, the food was delicious and the wait time was good. (: The view of the Arkansas River was beautiful.

Spent the day exploring Salida and had our dog with us so looking for a dog friendly restaurant and found Pizza Rio with their outdoor patio on the rooftop. Great views and loved sitting outside in a beautiful day watching people use the river and play. Served greeted us promptly and gave us time to look over the menu. We ordered the Paddler Hand-crushed tomato sauce, smoked provolone, pears, walnuts, gorgonzola & arugula, with fresh chives. Finished with a balsamic reduction glaze and added sausage to it! Wonderful. They brought the dog a water dish which was super nice Best way to enjoy a vacation lunch on a beautiful Colorado day!!

This review does not cover the food, just service, as we did not get to eat here. We came in town from camping with our dogs and were recommended to eat here as they allow dogs on the patio. We were told to wait 5-10 minutes for a patio table. We had to wait there as there are no reservations or holds. They were kind and brought us water while we waited (odd that we were told to wait inside with the dogs but could not order food inside). Yay - our table is ready. My husband went to the table before me and was told no, we can't have the table. It was reserved. After much back and forth about whether tables can be reserved we were told it was because it was for friends of the owners. We could wait longer for another table. Um, no. Not going to do that. So we are elsewhere.

From start to finish, what a fantastic dining experience at Pizza Rio. The restaurant is super cute. Think beach house vibes. It was within walking distance of where we were staying and is now my first choice spot for future visits to Salida. Lots of fresh food options on the menu and top-notch service from every staff member we interacted with throughout our meal. I ordered the Cold Italian sandwich, and it was absolutely delicious. One of the freshest sandwiches I've ever tasted, and it's making my mouth water just thinking about it. My partner had a spaghetti dish that was so good, it made me regret not ordering it for myself. And of course, their spicy Bloody Mary was a deliciously perfect complement to the food. We even ordered a cheese pizza to-go for the kids, and they loved it. Fun and laid-back atmosphere that can get busy, especially for larger crowds. I didn't know much about Salida before this trip, and now I'm simply amazed by the quality of service and ingredients this town is capable of. Would love to check out the outdoor seating when the weather is warmer.

Great place for delicious pizzas, salads, pasta dishes, drinks. Overlooks the river. Stairs are a long way up. Eat in or on the patio.

They were genuinely apologetic and made sure we were taken care of, which honestly means a lot. Definitely not something that would affect us coming back. If anything, it made us appreciate this place even more. We'll absolutely be back the next time we're in town!!

The restaurant was moved because a larger kitchen needed however we didn't know where. Now we found it. It's much larger and menu looks expanded. Nicky decorated and cozy. We were greeted by Trevor who sat us and waited on us as well. He was always available for any questions we had or service needed. We got a couple beers and ordered. I had shrimp pho and my wife had chicken pho. The taste was incredible ( I also enjoy a good pho ) and portions just right per size. We were attended to make sure our needs were met. Pawnee ( spelling ?? ) greeted us and thanked us for stopping in. She is the owner. She made us feel welcomed and special customer. Another couple of customers came in while we dined. We seen them get something from a cooler; so I asked what it was. Sticky rice with blueberries. I asked for one ( I've had sticky rice in Thailand before ) Trevor treated me to a serving. It was just like I remembered. Definitely will be back to dine again. If you're in Salida make it a point to stop in.

It may look small from the outside, but it's quite the restaurant inside. It's spacious and there's even a stage....maybe for kid's performances or karaoke night. I was really looking forward to Asian food, so my expectations were high. Since it was such a large group and ONLY 1 waitress, orders got lost and mixed up, and the wait was long! I was hungry, but also understand that one waitress helping us would take a while. Unfortunately, some were not as patience and had a little 'tude, so I apologize for them. I had the beef pho, since it was a cold night. There were tons of different orders, but my pho was okay. It was kind of warm broth instead of hot and who puts carrots in pho???? That was weird to me. We weren't offered all the right herbs and mints that usually goes with it, but assuming it's in a small town they don't have access to them? It wasn't the best pho I've ever had, nor was it the worst. Just not authentic. Also, it's combination of Southeast cuisine - a little bit of Vietnamese, a little Thai, a little Chinese, and from what I remember only ONE dish that was Cambodian. Everybody on our end of the table was not happy with their food. Some of the ladies weren't happy with their Thai Tea and sent it back. I didn't try it, but the owner came out and questioned it. mmmmm.....I wouldn't questioned why a customer didn't like it just because you made it. You should asked why didn't you like it and how can I improve. Overall, it wasn't a great experience and bellies didn't go home happy. Oh, the food took so long to come out some left. It was disappointing.
