Honestly, I go to this place pretty frequently for pizza. But I think that's more to do with convenience in location than quality. I think, for what it is, this place is successful and makes a pretty good pie. Yes, the names are a bit kitschy (the "hot for teacher" pie is hot soppressata and jalepeno with honey drizzle) but the pizza good enough and cheap enough to make me come back for more. I love the variety in specialty pies, and even the personal pizza style serving size. This place has good deals ($2 beers during happy hour), and a really sweet staff; the manager always makes it a point to ask how you are. My recommendations: the hot for teacher, arugula and spinach, eggplant parmigiana, and veggie pie. All are very tasty. But, when in doubt just create your own. My one qualm with this pizza is that there is never enough sauce on the pizza, for my taste anyway. I don't think it's necessary for the pizza to be swimming in sauce, but I definitely don't like dry pizza. I've had to request extra sauce twice before, and both times the sauce was cold. Other than that, the pizza is very good. Basically, and this may be controversial, I think this place is the better Blaze Pizza. It's not out of this world good, but good for what it is. And on most Friday nights, when I'm really craving cheesy, crusty bread and a cold craft beer, this place hits the spot and then some. read more

Mediocre at best. It looks promising but it's really nothing special. The place itself is cool and set up nicely and they offer different deals each day of the week including brunch on Sunday's but the pizza is very bland. I got the Margherita "I wanna rox" pizza because I always figure that's a safe choice but unfortunately I didn't really like it. It had almost no flavor and not to mention, barely any basil on top. Perhaps their other pizza options are better but if I had to base my decision on their margherita pizza I would say the place is below average. You get to create your own pizza too for $8.99. The size of the pizza is small (4 slices) but I was okay with that because you don't end up feeling like you over ate. It was however $9 for 4 slices which is a little overpriced considering how small the slices actually are. I don't think I'll be going back. read more

Such a cool concept! Pizza Rox has an amazing, helpful and friendly staff. The dough is made fresh as well as all the other ingredients! You can make your own or pick from the speciality pizzas! My favorite pizza was the vegetarian, "I melt with you." It had Alfredo sauce, shredded mozzarella cheese, mushrooms, spinach and crushed red tomatoes. Even non-vegetarians rejoice with such fresh ingredients, and a crispy yet doughy, soft crust! There is also a great selection of dessert pies and locally crafted beer. We were also informed that concepts came from traveling and collaboration with a chef! How cool?! Pizza Rox's design and decor is really fun and clean with a theme of old school music. We have been looking for a good pizza place near our house and we finally found one thanks to Yelp! I'm typically a plain cheese pizza guy but every pizza we have tried at Pizza Rox has been delicious. My favorites are the Californication and the white veggie pizza. They also have dessert pizzas that are crazy good. We usually go with the signature pizzas, but you can also build your own. I think it's $8 with basic toppings and then extra for some of the premium toppings. In addition to the pizza they have a great selection of craft beers and on Friday you can get them for $2 all night which is very nice. The service is always quick, although I have some issues with the process which I will go into later. Prices are on the higher side although not totally crazy and all the ingredients are suppose to be organic non gmo etc. My only issue with Pizza Rox is the whole ordering process. When we walk up to the counter we are usually confronted by a perplexed pizza maker. Sometimes they ask for our order, sometimes they just kinda stand there making pizza. Sometimes one will take your order for one pizza but then goes off to make it and someone else come by and takes the next pizza and it's all rather confusing. IMO there should be a dedicated order taker at the front. Also when I get a beer sometimes I want a second one. However I then have to go back to the register (which is at the end of the line) and sometimes there is a line so you have to wait in line or kinda cut in to order the beer and it's just kind of weird. However that's a minor issue to deal with to get some really good pizza. If they fix the process and the prices were a bit better it would definitely be a 5 star place! read more

It seemed like an eternity for Pizza Rox to finally open. I was pretty happy to have another option nearby for a quick lunch. You walk into a large and brightly lit space. The atmosphere is more of an industrial look. Once you walk in you will order directly to the left. I say this because as other have mentioned it can be confusing on where to order on your first visit. Their big thing here is that the ingredients are apparently organic. I've tried a few of their pizzas. On my first visit I built my own pie. I definitely suffered from sticker shock when I learned that the total was over $20. This was my fault for not noticing the fine print on the menu in regards to the pricing per topping. I made sure not to make that same mistake on my future visits. I wasn't impressed on my first visit, as I found the pie to be quite bland. I had the "I wanna Rox pie" which is their version of a margherita. Like my first visit I found that it was boring and didn't offer much flavor. I'm thinking that this is because they use Organic ingredients? On my last couple of visits I had the Californiacation pie. It consists of Prosciutto Di Parma, argula and Parmigiano Reggiano for toppings. They also use San Marzano tomatoes here. Although I'm not sure if they're the DOP ones. This has been my favorite pie here thus far. I give them props for slicing the Prosciutto fresh. Service and friendliness have been inconsistent on my experiences. Sometimes everyone is super friendly and other times they're not friendly at all. As far as the service piece goes, sometimes they're slow or quick moving you through the line. They do serve Panther coffee which is great. So no need to go to the nearby Starbucks for an espresso fix anymore. I will continue to come back, however, it will be when I'm short on time for lunch and am in need of the convenience factor above all. read more

Great spot! We were driving around looking for a place to grab lunch and I pointed it out since we had never been before. Right before we walked in, I remarked that there was a spot in Boca where you make your own pizza and they fire it right there and that we need to scope that spot out. We walked into pizzarox and that's exactly what they do! You can pick one of their signature pizzas or build your own. They are personal size, but honestly I could have shared. I ended up bringing half of it home! It's kind of a chipotle for pizza if you will. Greg F. got the hotline bling and I built my own. His had sausage, pesto, tomatoes and spinach. It looked really good but he said his was bland and that mine was better. For the build your own, you pick a sauce, pick a cheese and then pick 4 toppings. I got red sauce, shredded mozzarella, bacon, sausage, sautéed mushrooms, and artichokes. They put the pizzas in a super hot oven and they are ready in just a few minutes. If I build a pizza again, I'll skip the bacon. It was just tiny little bacon bits, like you'd sprinkle on a salad so you really couldn't taste it on the pizza. It felt like a waste of a topping, I wish they had bigger chunks of bacon. Everything else though was superb. They carry local craft beers too, so we of course had a couple. The servers/pizza makers were all very friendly. If suggest looking up their menu online so you don't have to stand there staring at their screens trying to read the font. I hate when menus are on a tv and they switch pages. We sat down and I looked up there and it was showing pizzas I didn't see on the screen while I was in line... Just give me a paper menu so I can see it all at once and not have to wait for the screen to change to see all the types of pizza. Overall, I liked it! I'd certainly go back and build my own pizza. DO NOT go here unless you have LOTS of time to kill. There were 11 people working, but only 3 of them were doing anything, the other 8 people were standing around!! All employees looked dazed and as if they had never been trained. Poor Management. After waiting 15 minutes to place our order. We then waited another astonishing 50 MINUTES!!!!! to get our order. We ordered 4 simple pizzas-2 cheese, 2 pepperoni. They set on the counter waiting to get cooked while the guy cooking pizzas stood there and s l o w l y got to our order. He was placing 1 pizza in the oven at a time & waiting until it cooked before removing it and place another in the oven. I wanted to jump over the counter to do it myself!!!!! ( in comparison, another pizza place that is the same principle, can get you in and out in under 20 minutes! I assume this is because they bake more than one pizza at a time and employees are trained and actually work.... The pizza tasted average. Not worth the 65 MINUTES it took to get. Yes, most places allow you to put whatever you want on a pizza, but this location does it in front of you so that you can not only watch the process, but add, subtract and proportion items to your ultimate liking! I'm not saying that I had the pizza crafter do layers of cheese, then pepperoni, then more cheese, and then more pepperoni... But if I were to say that, it would be totally true. I got crispy pepperoni on top, soft pepperoni underneath, and more cheese than you can shake a stick at. Which, let's face it, is basically the entire purpose of pizza...A cheese delivery system!
