As we crawled out of Cameo not so early this morning, we thanked the almighty power that be as we dragged our semi-lifeless bodies into Pizza Rustica to have a bite. Famished, I was and my eye flew to the beautiful roasted veggie pizza.. then and there every single saliva gland in my mouth began to activate on high mode. I was having fantasies about my pizza as my friends were yapping on and on about something. All I could think about was that yummy deliciousness that had been claimed as MINE. When it came I added the pepper flakes any self respecting Chicago native would. Little did I realize that their flakes are SERIOUS flakes my friends. Watch out, those flakes make their presence known throughout their whole trajectory through your system. Hot as Hades, but delicious for the more adventurous. The pizza is fantastic. Truly delicious in every way. My friend kept on putting her crust down and not noticing it disappearing off her plate as I stealthily stole every one! Luckily she was so inebriated that she didn't miss them, as she had been setting them aside for later. MUAHAHAAA The only thing I can say is that at that time the service can be understandably non effusive. I especially loved the way the guy behind the counter told a VERY VERY drunk girl who stumbled in yelling for the bathroom that it was busy - to wait (it wasn't, he knew it and we knew it as we were sitting next to it) and then proceeded to tell her that no more pizza for her (she was not a petite girl), and then got his amusement watching her hop and yell around the bathroom door. Decent street pizza that serves big slices cut into small pieces. One slice is big enough for one person, unless you're super hungry. The pizza is a 5.8 / 10, nothing to call home about. Good late night pizza spot on South Beach! We were starving and drunk and needed food so we stumbled over and saw this haven with a short line out of the door. We got in line as it seemed to move pretty fast...20 mins later we had a huge box of pizza in our hands. I got spicy sausage (okay) and deluxe (pretty damn good). These square shaped slices helped a guy not have a bad morning after. Okay, Yelpers. Can we just agree not to post when drunk or stoned? My wife and I were in SoBe on vacation and were in the mood for some comfort food after eating too much fancy food on a cruise. I turned to Yelp and, after seeing all the fabulous posts, decided to give this place a try. It was just around the corner from our hotel (convenient) and the prices seemed fair enough. We got two slices: multi-meat and chicken with artichoke. Sorry, I just couldn't get past the crust. It took me back to 3rd school lunch pizza. The dough is thick, soggy in places, yeasty and greasy. We both ate the tops off our slices, and thankfully they were loaded with toppings or else we'd have been out $10 and still hungry. That said, I can definitely see how one might think this is the "best pizza ever" when it's 4am and you've emptied the contents of your stomach on the beach after a night of hard partying. But for those of us who want to keep our dinner down, take a pass and try one of the (many) other pizza places on the same block. If you know NY style pizza, it's thin crust and has excellent zesty sauce. This didn't even come close. Yes, there's technically "al fresco" dining, but know that you'll be sitting on Washington Ave, choking from bus fumes at tables that rock on the dirty, uneven pavement. The tables are filthy and rarely wiped down, your food trash goes into the city trash cans on the sidewalk and therefore not emptied often enough to avoid the constant swarm of flies. More like ONLY pizza on South Beach :) Possibly the best *drunk* slice in the world, I've ended up here at 2AM at least a dozen times, and the pizza slices have a uniquely rectangular, public-school-hot-lunch appeal to them. Very creative toppings, and seriously gorgeous execution - the finished trays of pizza are picture perfect, colorful and pretty damn tasty. Fun late-night atmosphere, social "what did you guys do tonight?" vibe. Maybe not the most authentic pie, but the slightly sweet tomato sauce balances perfectly with the array of toppings, and the crust is crispy enough to shelf it down to the last bite. Amazing pizza! Lots of choices and creative toppings. Each slice was huge, so what my girlfriends and I did was order 4 different slices and sliced each into quarters, so we got to try each one. I think we got a slice of chicken parmesan, caprese, chicken alla fiorentina, and bbq chicken. They were all equally tasty! 5 stars for the pizza! There was a long line when we went. I'm asauming it's like that every night. It was late post-going out. They were super busy but the workers seemed to be efficient. They also seemed pissed, but who wouldn't with some obnoxious drunks in line. I think they only have one unisex bathroom. We didn't dare to go in. Luckily, our hotel was across the street. On a rainy night we had pizza, a salad, and some wings delivered to our hotel. It took a little longer than the estimated 45 minutes for it to get to us but that was to be expected with the rain. Pizza Rustica is a staple of any trip to South Beach. My husband and I discovered this restaurant several years ago on a previous trip to SoBe. And we've been coming back ever since. Our trip earlier this month was no exception. We stayed in SOBE for a few days post cruise and after taking a nap (cruises are exhausting), we were starving for some lunch. We wandered the neighborhood for awhile without any cravings. Then we realized that we were near Pizza Rustica, so we figured we'd stick with something we knew was good. After browsing the display, I settled on the Eggplant & Goat Cheese slice. It was delicious! It was loaded with eggplant, goat cheese, garlic, tomatoes, sauce, and mozzarella. The hubby ordered a slice of Spinaci e Blue Cheese. He liked his slice. I tasted it, and while it was good, the Eggplant slice was far superior in my opinion. This place always has a line and for good reason. It has limited seating which always seems to be full. So we ordered our food to go, stopped into the 7-Eleven across the street for some beer, and ate lunch in our hotel room. They also have three different crust options available, regular, multigrain, and gluten-free. I've only ever gotten the slices that's been pre cooked and they warm up after but even those have been one of the best pizza I've ever eaten. A great spot for late night eats and people watching. It's right beside a hostel so it's full of young foreigners which makes for great people watching. It's also beside a tattoo shop so you'll see all types of people. Ambiance is pretty awesome and chill. The pizza was delicious and huge! You get a 'slice' and it's in a rectangular shape that they cut into six smaller pieces. I got the supreme and my wife ordered a pizza with sausage. She had great memories at this place when she was in spring break during her college years so she insisted we go back and try it. It didn't disappoint. The cost was cheap and you were stuffed. I am a fan for life!! I live 3 hours away in Melbourne, Florida, but the drive is worth it for the best vegan pizza I have ever had! I first came here over 10 years ago, have returned several times and most recently was here in April 2021. The manager and staff were incredibly accommodating and attentive, my food was still the best vegan pizza ever, and my friend was equally thrilled with her custom pizza.
