Love this place! I remember coming to Pizza Rustica almost 10 years ago during my party days. Pizza is still amazing! You walk in and a variety of pizzas are laying out to choose from as well as garlic knots. If you want something that's not already out, you can customize your own pizza. After you e places your order, they put it in the oven and put the slices on two paper plates. They also have a form to fill out to build your salad. I got two slices, which was way too much! Lol. One slices was New York steak with red and yellow peppers. Didn't have a lot of flavor but still really good. Loved the other slice - spinach, feta, and tomatoes. They had so many that I wanted to try. It comes 8 squares per slice. I would have loved if they would let you get 2-4 squares so I could try more combinations but still awesome! They have boxes of you want to take the leftovers but we both decided to give to men we saw on the street so it worked out well. While this Pizza Rustica location filled our needs - We were hungry for a slice of pizza and a beer and this place had both, and it seemed to be busy with a line 4 or 5 people deep waiting to order the entire time we were here, at the same time this place doesn't have the nearly the same variety of pizzas that their location on Lincoln Road has (for those unfamiliar, Pizza Rustica pre-bakes a variety of pizzas with various toppings, then places them in a display case. As customers order the individual slices, they're placed back in the oven for a few minutes to heat them and melt the cheese before serving). The first time we came here, we had a slice of the chicken fiorentina pizza to share and each got a beer and a bottle of water. There was plenty of seating both out front at tables on the sidewalk and inside the restaurant on stools that line a rail along the windows looking out toward 9th Street. There was also open seating at the countertop in front of the pizza oven. They had all the usual jars of grated cheese and crushed pepper to sprinkle on, as well as dispensers of napkins and plastic cutlery. The variety of beers was surprisingly good. The one area where this place needs a bit of work is with their customer service skills IMO. Last few times we've come here, there's always been one lady in particular working later on weekend evenings with very short/shaved hair who rarely smiles and certainly isn't warm and fuzzy toward the patrons. On one occasion we came at something like 1:45 and she refused to sell us beers with our meals. She just looked at us and said "No alcohol, it's late". They apparently have started something new at this location and that's table service! So ALL of the tables outside at night on the weekends are table service ONLY!! Wtf??!! So that limits all the normal customers to sit inside where there are only like 7-8 stools up against the window. Come during the daytime to avoid this seating catastrophe! So I obviously take my slice to-go because all of the stools were taken! I walk about 2 blocks away to sit on the sea wall by the beach and realize that my pizza is BARELY warm! I watched her put it in the oven to heat it up like they normally do! But apparently she didn't heat it up long enough and had I been sitting at the restaurant I would have had them heat it up again, no big deal! I went here a few years ago, this place is super close to Ocean Dr and they serve something kinda like a Sicilian but with a ton of stuff on it, but the ton of stuff was really good. The food: Pizza con Potate- Thinly sliced roasted yellow Yukon potatoes, creamy goat cheese, melted mozzarella cheese, roasted garlic, Kalamata olives, sweet red onions, diced Roma tomatoes, rosemary and black pepper. Surprisingly enough, I think vegetables on pizza is actually really good, never though I would say that lol I thought the flavor profile of this slice really worked, the potatoes were cooked nicely and the creaminess of the goat cheese ties everything in nicely. The red onions offered a nice crunchy element, the olives offered a nice salty flavor and the tomatoes offered a subtle sweetness to offset some of the punch of the onion and olives. Truly delicious in every way. My friend kept on putting her crust down and not noticing it disappearing off her plate as I stealthily stole every one! MUAHAHAAA The only thing I can say is that at that time the service can be understandably non effusive. I especially loved the way the guy behind the counter told a VERY VERY drunk girl who stumbled in yelling for the bathroom that it was busy - to wait (it wasn't, he knew it and we knew it as we were sitting next to it) and then proceeded to tell her that no more pizza for her (she was not a petite girl), and then got his amusement watching her hop and yell around the bathroom door.
