Craving pizza this afternoon and decided to visit one of my favorite "hidden" spots. We were greeted by Luis. Believe it or not they offer their awesome lunch special of two slices of pizza and a soda for $10 on a Sunday!! Wow!! Nice!! Luis asked us we would like to wait ten minutes as he was just making a fresh pepperoni pizza. Over and above service because he had three slices under the heat lamp. Nice!! This is a takeout restaurant with limited seating due to the fact that to space is small. But still it is a quiet space to sit down if you so desire. I encourage and recommend this pizza restaurant. On my trip from Downey to Cerritos, Pizza USA was one of the few places in the area that offered vegan options. Selecting this restaurant based solely on the plant-based menu, I was unsure of how the overall experience would be. From the food to the service, Pizza USA beyond exceeded my expectations. First and foremost, VEGAN PIZZA BY THE SLICE. I was relieved I wouldn't have to purchase and entire pizza for myself, especially considering I was on the road, and it would most likely go to waste. In addition to the slices, I was beyond grateful that the vegan pizza was half and half, which allowed me to try two types of pizza (Bellflower Vegan and Heaven). The pizza itself was delicious - full of flavorful! I was a little nervous that the Bellflower Vegan, a buffalo cauliflower style pizza, would be a little too hot for my overly sensitive tastebuds, but it had just the right amount of kick! I loved that the slice was very saucy, featuring a buffalo ranch base accompanied by a ranch drizzle. The Heaven slice was just that, a perfect blend of sweet and spicy with jalapenos, bell peppers, sausage, and pineapple. Everything was so good, I even decided to try the vegan Cesear salad and it did not disappoint. Staff members were extremely welcoming and helpful. Put in an online order and got to the restaurant at the time, which was given, but had to wait 25 more minutes (45+ minutes total). The employee said that they were understaffed but it seems that there should be a way to communicate a more accurate time. The vegan pizza was okay, but I think waiting for 45 minutes to get a pizza is too long, so it affected the experience. The sauce on the Bellflower pizza had an off putting texture. It was sort of slimy. I think it was the Ranch Drizzle that was unappatizing. The slices are based on whatever style of pizza is available. The size of the pizza slices were generous. The restaurant was bright and clean. There were a few small tables that could probably seat six people total. Plenty of parking was available. I'm happy to find a quick service restaurant that has numerous vegan options. read more
