Hey everyone. I found a place that charges $2 a wing for the world's smallest chicken wing. I'm not even sure it's from a chicken, they seem to have the amount of meat you'd find from maybe a sparrow or hummingbird. I honestly can't believe how fast this place fell from an amazing chicken wing to whatever the heck they serve now. But yea they were awful, small, dry and flavorless. The pizza tasted that of 6th grade cafeteria vibes. It was overcooked, dough tasted old and it was just such a waste of $24 for a 1 topping pizza. Missing Alondras, the inside hasn't changed much but it isn't clean. Our table was sticky from I'm assuming spilled drinks/food. Service was fair but the food was not that good. If i had to recommend a plate it would be the buffalo fries but thats it. Wings were covered in seasoning that was crusted up. So originally know as Alondra wings and after moving years ago keeping the same recipes it seems like the only thing they changed was the name please take my advice on the order but like I said in my last review everything it's the same except for some of the extra special waitresses staff they added. Especially the last time I was there. Thank you so much for going the extra mile and being so attentive Evelyn when's way and above what most would do. So I went here last Saturday (1/25) food was good just a little pricey. That wasn't the issue. When I left and got home I realized I left my wallet so I called in and they said yes the server found it but they were already going to close so I wasn't gonna make it back on time so he said "we'll hold it for you, we open up tomorrow at 11 am" so I trusted that my wallet was safe. I go back the next morning to go get it and its nowhere to be found. The manager that closed that night seemed confused and said he "didn't hear about a wallet". Then the owner came out asked for my number and assured me he would get me my things back. I kept calling throughout the day to see if I could get an update but nothing. It got to the point where my calls wouldn't get answered anymore. Finally about 2 days later I get a call from one of the managers (Harold) which was probably the most helpful of them all, but he says they haven't found it and the cameras "are acting up" so they can't see the footage. How convenient. Ultimately, I never got my wallet which had cash and my identifications and other important information. Dinner at Alondra's on Alondra? Can't beat that, right?? On second thought, maybe some other eatery down on Downey would be a better idea. The Alondra's Hot Wings in Paramount is located on...you guessed it! Alondra Blvd just west of Downey Ave. It's kind of like a Buffalo Wild Wings in that you can get some wings while watching your favorite team play on the TVs they have inside, but unlike B Dubs, you can get some pizza and pasta there. With so many options, there will be something for everyone, but that may be the underlying problem behind the food I've tried at Alondra's. Since Alondra's is in a part of town I don't visit very often, I wouldn't have tried Alondra's if not for their participation in Fivestars. After trying their famous (or infamous) cheeseballs and their 16" pizza, I can safely say that I would never try Alondra's if they're not a Fivestars business. My first visit was simply for a drink, and the lid just would not stay on the cup no matter how hard I tried. That day, I was driving to Torrance, so I had to keep my eye (or hand) on the lid to make sure it didn't fall off and that my drink wouldn't splash all over my car. On another visit, I got their famous cheeseballs, which they really should call infamous cheeseballs because they were completely awful! I had to wait 20 minutes for these cheeseballs to be ready, but I wouldn't even wait 2 minutes for something that was hard, bland, and super oily! That's all you really need to know about their cheeseballs. No joke, I would have preferred Utz over this! The cheeseballs are just a starter, and if I were rating Alondra's simply based on this one starter, I would have given 1 star. I did have them a second time later, and they were better, but still not worth the $9 price tag. I also ordered a 16" 2-topping pizza one time. Since I didn't want to wait 30 minutes inside, I decided to call in my order while on my shopping trip. I was getting something perishable, and I didn't want to wait that long for my pizza to be ready, so I asked if I could pick up this pizza in about 30 minutes, which was my estimate of when I could get there. Mike over the phone was pretty courteous in handling my request, although when he said that all toppings were available, it didn't exactly help because I couldn't remember if pastrami was actually a topping or not. It was, and for my other topping, I chose chicken tenders. Mike asked how I'd like the tenders to be flavored, which was pretty vague. I initially said "Honey mustard?" dubiously, but he really meant if I wanted plain, mild, or hot. Plain sounded boring, and hot sounded too spicy, so just like Goldilocks, I went mild, hoping it would be "just right." I got there about 5-10 minutes earlier than my scheduled pickup time, and of course, they weren't done with my pizza. I think they were actually a couple minutes later than expected, but I won't ding them for that. What I will ding them for, however, is how disappointed I was in the pizza. The exterior of the box was a bit greasy. When I opened the box, I saw a handful of crumbs in the back corners, and the crust was unusually thicker than what I expected, signs indicating that the pizza wouldn't be so good. I was holding out hope the pizza would taste as good as Round Table, but it wasn't even close. Round Table is way better. The crust was quite dense, and eating the pizza was akin to eating breadsticks with marinara sauce. The chicken tenders kept falling off, and each piece was quite large, which made eating each pizza slice a challenge since I had to open my mouth pretty wide to even take a bite. The pastrami was alright, but burnt on the edges. This might have been one of the worst pizzas I've ever had, but at least it tasted a lot better than the (in)famous cheeseballs. I'd give 1.5 stars for the pizza. Service has been pretty friendly on all of my visits, and Mike definitely appreciated my business both over the phone and in person when he handed me my pizza. Unfortunately, with the food being this bad, even good customer service wouldn't be enough to warrant a return visit. I'd need another Fivestars deal to draw me back, and the deal would have to be a pretty good one. Otherwise, if Alondra's continues to go south, I'll take my business elsewhere, likely south of Alondra. read more
