Funguy Pizza - meh toppings, flavorless sauce, but the crust was great!
    Nataly N.

Friendly and fast service at this fast-casual version of the sit-down Pizza Vita joints. I was actually surprised at how fast it took for my pizza to be ready - about 5 minutes! The toppings are not the most mind-blowing and they could use a bit more sauce and seasonings (the sauce tasted like it came right out of a can, and the combo of shiitake mushrooms/truffle oil/tomato sauce was really weird), but the dough is fresh, soft without being mushy, and it has just the right amount of char at the bottom and around the outside. For $13-16 each, the pizzas are big enough to feed 2 people. It's a good option if you're craving coal fired pizza and are in a pinch!

I went to the food truck at hoboken pier. The truffle pizza is really good, they put the pizza in the oven.

I stopped by in a group of 3 for dinner and we decided to start the meal with their bread and butter tasting ($18). If you love butter, this is totally worth it! You get to try two varieties of their baked in-house breads and the cultured butters they serve are really fun to try. I appreciated that the butter servings were big enough that I could slather a generous layer of the butter onto each piece of bread. My only regret was not ordering more bread. Another pleasant surprise was their salad! I'm usually not one to order salads at restaurants (I could just make it at home!) but I was pleasantly surprised by the salad they had that day. We ordered 3 of their pizzas to try a variety and to take leftovers home. The pizzas were savory, cheesy, and the crust was as delicious as I'd expect! But if I were to be completely honest, I'd save my stomach space to just have a meal full of their bread.

Give yourself time to find street parking, otherwise there's a parking lot within walking distance. Another great perk about Razza is being able to utilize my Chase dining credit. The tables are very intimately organized. Service was attentive. The pizza was super fresh and we enjoyed the pies we shared. The real star of the show were the meatballs. We had already ordered bread (also good, but some of the butters are an acquired taste) and almost skipped the meatballs. So glad that we didn't! Definitely worth a visit. :)

If you knew me, I always considered pizza as a separate food group aka the sixth main food group! Established in 1982, this small family-owned cash-only restaurant has been a beloved neighborhood staple known for its authentic Italian pizza along with other Italian dishes and a cozy and family-friendly atmosphere. With a glut of pizza joints, how would this pizzeria from Larry and Joe compare to others I've tried in the neighborhood!? PURCHASE [ONION RINGS/STRAWS/STRINGS ALERT - 3.5 of 5.0 STARS] Onion Rings ($5.00): A large container filled with oddly similarly-sized rings, these were hot, medium-browned, semi-crunchy, and didn't have a tendency to crumble when bitten into while the onion ring (not sweet Maui) stayed intact. They were slightly oily, no dipping sauce given, and surprisingly good. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=48&select=Fo3zPbAgICQdKvznZJsvGA Mozzarella Sticks 6pc ($7.00): Simple finger-sized medium-browned cheese sticks with homemade marinara dipping sauce, we enjoyed them but nothing special to report. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=72&select=XdrF2nAAywvu13PpkK4mIQ Eggplant Parmigiana Sandwich ($10.00): If you knew me, this was my go-to Italian sandwich, and it didn't disappoint. Filled with plenty of thin but meaty slices of breaded eggplant, marinara sauce, and gooey mozzarella cheese crammed between a lightly-toasted bun, this was a hearty meal that stuck to your ribs - oof! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=72&select=8R68F6zBwAxy4vcpvi8wzw Chicken Parmigiana Sandwich ($10.00): My friend opted for this lightly-toasted bun stuffed with many thin but meaty slices of breaded chicken, marinara sauce, and gooey mozzarella cheese, it was good but not better than the eggplant! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=72&select=p7slICln5ZVWgsqatlY8WQ 18" 8pc Broccoli Pizza + Mushrooms ($19.00 + $3.00): Still in the throes of no-meat during Lent, we chose this interesting option with an additional topping for more flavor. This was a massive pizza with a ton of fresh toppings, mozzarella cheese, and tomato sauce with an incredibly crispy yet soft crust. This was simply an impressive pie, indeed! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=72&select=-5ich-E3lcSWgrzXYPVisA SERVICE I called ahead and placed my order with a friendly gentleman whose name I couldn't recall. I was told it would be ready within 45 minutes which was fine. I arrived a bit early to a very busy pizzeria, to which I waited an extra 15 minutes before my order was done and packed up. No worries, as I watched TV and simply observed the "mayhem" in this place. I wasn't in a hurry, so all was good - grazie! PARKING (Street; N/A this instance) This was an easy flat 20-minute walk from my friend's place. Otherwise, there appeared to be plenty of spots (no known private lot) along the main drag of Newark Ave. and all surrounding roads - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A simple interior layout https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=48&select=YA57QUy6J9z38Y_Kkkay_A with a tidy dining area of booths and a couple of small tables, a bar table along one wall, and the order counter that looked into the kitchen at the back. Several framed pictures of family members adorned a brick wall while the menu https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=72&select=4AsL8gHDPNd5MobPtL3MyA was posted on another wall. Plenty of natural lighting came through the front window and door while soul-sucking fluorescent electric ceiling lights filled in the rest. There was one TV (volume on) while there wasn't any background music. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=48&select=4WAmbzYptvChB1edodHcSQ ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL Larry & Joe's Pizzeria was an incredible example of a close-knit family eatery that was lovingly supported by the neighborhood and vice versa, which gave me the warm-and-fuzzies. From tasty food, large portions, reasonable prices, good menu selection, and wonderful service, this place hit all of the feels. And, I always loved supporting small businesses whenever possible. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $54.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). Sadly, they were CASH ONLY (my only knock), so no AMEX! 4.0 STARS

The sauce was nice and garlicky! Then we got a few pies for my son's bday party in June 2025 it looked flat and soggy. We didn't even complain about it. It was nothing like the pie I had the first time. Over a year later I ordered a pie today. I asked for the pizza to be not burnt but when I opened the pie it was flat and not cooked throughout. I called back and the lady that answered said well you asked for light no I asked for it to not be burnt I didn't know that meant the dough would not be fully cooked. Now they were nice when I ordered the pizza and when I picked up but when I called back she just said you asked for it light. And said next time you can do it regular. She didn't really offer a solution for today. I asked her if I put it in my oven would it come out right. It's currently in my oven. I'm so mad I could have gotten a pizza from vinnies for less but wanted to see if the pizza would be like the first time. Well pizza dough still looks raw After cooking . Will never event shop at this place again. When I was handed the pizza today she even said oh this is a heavy one. It was heavy bc the dough was not cooked . 30 dollars down the drain. No solution was offered for today it was like she was in a rush to get me off the phone with no solution it was my fault for asking for a pizza that wasn't burnt. I have worked in customer service and this is not the way you handle anything in the food service industry. She literally said next time just ask for it regular. What about this time. The only reason I'm giving two stars is bc the first time pizza was so good like the best pizza I ever had. I know customers can be annoying but the way this was handled was not right. Please see pictures of the crust that is clear in color. Not fluffy just not cooked. Dough didn't rise at all .

I think the quailfy looked good and I usually love detroit style pizza but everything was salty. Also, not sure what's going on with their soda machine but I wanted Sprite and they tried twice and it was definitely not Sprite. It tasted just like sparkling water. I raised concerns but the waiter just looked at me like I was crazy. They left it on the bill even though I insisted that what I got was not Sprite. It's super dark in this place - that's part of their vibe. They have some black light and neon lights but overall very dark. Probably should've have picked this place to catch up with old friends that I haven't seen in a while. It was also loud so hard to hear the person 2 people down from me.
