Excited to try Walay again soon! The pizza and wings were so close to exactly what we look for when ordering in. The hot wings were solid for delivery. The pizza was wonderful except for being warm rather than hot. Really enjoyed the B.A.D. regular crust---nice thin slices of ham and fresh green peppers. Everything tasted delicious especially the crispy crust with toppings close to the edge. Enjoyed finishing off the whole large-size pie; it's a good size (and not greasy!) for two. read more

This was my first time trying this place. I didn't enjoy anything that I got. the fries were nice and crispy but very bland no seasoning at all not even salt. The thai chili wings were bland & they didn't fry them hard. Ordered a pizza as well with black olives and spinach. they should really consider putting the spinach underneath the cheese and because the spinach was cripsy and not all that great. spent almost $30 for some bland food i should have considered something else, like i was in the first place. The atmosphere of the place was cramp, small & hot. there was no ventilation at all. The staff was friendly and prompt tho. Great service but bland food. I will not be eating here again. read more

Ordered 3 large pizzas and was told it would arrive in 30 mins, an hour later i called to ask where my pizza was and the lady told me 3-4 mins, and now 1 and a half hour later they said its out for delivery. I ordered Pizza Walay for delivery last night (one pizza, fries, a soda). After an hour, I called to check on the order because the stated window had passed and I was hungry. I was told that it takes a long time to get to my house (2 miles away) but the delivery guy was already on the way. 40 minutes later my food arrived soggy and clinging to it's last bit of warmth. The delivery guy was really nice and apologized and said someone bailed and he got called in and I'm going with 2 stars because he was great. If the guy on the phone had just told me things were really slammed and someone didn't come in and he was trying his best I would have eaten my terrible pizza and not written a review at all. But being lied to and kind low key blamed for ordering pizza from NE when I live in NW was annoying. If the pizza had arrived hot it might have been good and I'm pretty confident the fries would have been good had they not been soggy. My guess is the early wave of reviewers are all of the friends and family variety and the second wave of mediocre reviews is a better indicator of the quality and service you can expect. read more

This place is so great! I appreciate that it closes so late on weekends. Came in a few days ago and got the fire bird pizza, which was pretty much buffalo chicken pizza, and some of the spice on it was similar to tandoori -- it definitely had that Indian/Pakistani touch to it, and it was amazing. This is the (very welcome) successor to New Citi Pizza, which I had been going to for years--since 2001, before re H St. was "H St.". Citi Pizza had been on life support for many months, and I wondered what would eventually take over the space. Happy that the H St. pizza tradition continues. The pizza is great. Not greasy. Thin, crispy crust. Fresh ingredients. And hot. The price is right. And the guys who run and work at the place are fantastic. They offered me a money-back guarantee if I didn't like the pies. Didn't have to take them up on it. There are several pizza options on H, including Whole Foods, which I like, but I have to say that this place is the real deal. Open until 2 a.m. on the weekdays and 4 on the weekends. I go to bed early, but it's nice that know that I can get a great slice in the middle of the night in the event of a pizza emergency. Lots of other items on the menu that I haven't tried. Will update this review if necessary. read more

Witnessed Ashleigh (clerk) playing with her hair, handling money (barehanded), talking on her cell, then open a bag of mozzarella, dump it in a topping bin (barehanded without washing hands after the unsanitary shenanigans). The phone started ringing as Ashleigh was elbows deep in your cheesy toppings. The manager stopped hand tossing a pizza to pick up the personal cell phone. held it to his face with one hand (no gloves) and proceeded to make a pie with his other hand. He took the order, put the cell down and gracefully tossed a piece of dough for the next order. This place needs a secret visit from the health department! Eat at your own risk. I was looking for halal places close to union station and there weren't many. Then I found this place on yelp and decided to give it a try. I ordered 10 mins ahead and my order was ready and hot when I arrived. The cheeseburger was wonderful with a nice mix of spices and the patty wasn't bland at all. It was juicy and fresh and just tooo good. The fries were crispy and the serving was generous. The owner was really kind and friendly and I will definitely visit again ans maybe try their pizza this time! They deliver to a bunch of places in DC area which is great too! Okay I read the reviews first....and most were good, BUT what I experienced was GREAT... So I was craving a Philly cheesesteak, like Larry's in Wynnefield or Jim's in west philly.... And I always hate when I go to other cities and buy a cheesesteak...always disappointing...WELL NOT PIZZA WHALAY, PLUS IT IS HALAL, like most Philly places... I called for a delivery at 3:40pm today, and even called back (and I was even a lil messy) because I meant to order mozzarella sticks instead of French fries. And the person who took my order was still super nice, not to mention, my food was here still warm at 4:10pm I also wanted to know what their food was like, cause I was tired of ordering chinese in my 16 months here in DC, so I ordered other things.. -So I ordered a 12 inch cheesesteak (and they actually "scooped the bread" for me..And it was so good, although I couldn't even eat half of it... -I also ordered thai and garlic parmesan (which I never had...I'm a lemon pepper wing type of lima) And they were SOOOO GOOD -I also wanted to taste their chef salad since they were Halal, I knew the ham would be turkey ham ....I haven't eaten that yet..but I'm sure it's delicious and you can see rhe freshness through the bowl....Cant wait!
