Walked in and was greeted fairly, cashier wasted no time taking my order, and was very polite. I was nervous with the under new management banner, but theres no need to be. The service, and the pizza, are equally wonderful. I was even offered a water cup without asking, before i left the front desk. Their estimated time to recieve my pizza was almost spot on, but we are the only customers currently inside. Everything is clean, the trash has been taken out, the soda machine did not feel sticky. Unfortunately as I placed my order for this evening I found they have changed coupons, reduced number and selection. My first experience here will be my last. I Ordered and paid for 14" double hamburger and double cheese and 2 liter bottle of soda. Delivery driver showed up with pizza and no soda telling me that she will be right back with the soda. I let her go and then realized that the pizza would probably be eaten by the time she got back so I called them and told them to turn the driver around and take the soda off the bill. 10 mins later the driver shows up with a warm 2 liter bottle of soda that she got from Walgreens. The pizza was terrible! I've had better frozen pizza. There was very little cheese or hamburger on it and I ordered and paid for double of both. The hamburger looked like small rat droppings. This place is a reliable standard for decent pizza, but I feel like it has gone slightly down in quality and taste since they moved. The plus side of their relocation is their new digs- the re-purposed Shrewsbury space is quaint, with plenty of parking, and a huge upgrade from Deer Creek Plaza. I know DCP has found a 2nd life with many new anchor tenants, but to me it's just such an unappealing retail wasteland. But back to pizza.... Our office was close to the old location and we regularly ordered the standard and specialty pizzas. I loved the variety and consistent great quality. I was in Shrewsbury and drove by the new location recently, and decided to pop in for carry out. The interior is very basic, but I expect that in a delivery or take out industry where very few folks sit down to eat. My order took an expected 20 minutes, then I had another 10 minutes home. I was surprised how much the pizza had cooled off, usually even my takeout pizzas are still piping hot after a short ride. The crust was bland and chewy, and the sauce doesn't have a lot of flavor. Since those are the two most important aspects of a great pie in my opinion, there wasn't much hope, but the other ingredients were just average as well. The cheese was a bit rubbery and the pepperoni was mid grade. What helped the most was that I had added chopped fresh garlic, so that gave it a kick. BF agreed that it was okay, but we had experienced much better. With so much great local competition, I don't know if I will hurry back. If I did, I think I would try the wheat or thin & crispy crust in place of the standard. One plus is their variety, especially if you are ordering for a group. They have a selection of interesting pizzas and ingredients, various crusts and styles, plus other items for those not looking for pizza. The salads are made with romaine, nice to see when many similar places use iceberg. Additionally, it is reasonable priced. read more

Ordered delivery tonight, after much debate in which new place to try...and we were so glad we did. We got chicken bacon ranch and the Appondanza, the chicken bacon ranch was good (think would have preferred on thin) but the Appondanza was AMAZING! The cookie was also fantastic. Holy cow this place is great! I'm always on the look out for restaurants that have gluten free options. When I heard Pizza World offered gluten free crusts I thought I'd give it a go. WOW! FANTASTIC!! Adam, one of the owners (BTW, Adam & his brother are the new owners), suggested I do a thin crust and I'm glad I took his suggestion. I got the Grecian Pizza. Mozzarella, Tomatoes, feta cheese, green peppers and black olives. I don't really care for black olives on my pizza Adam said he could leave them off but I decided to go ahead and try it. It's the first pizza I've ever eaten with black olives on it! Really, really good! I'm super stoked to have found a pizza place that serves gluten free, Gourmet pizzas! Something I thought that was super cool was the Perfect Crust Pizza liner. It kept the crust crispy AND I could recycle the box- BONUS!! Do yourself a favor and try it. Tons of pizza, salads, sandwiches & morebto choose from - I could eat there every day! I'm a little nervous though... There are two blocks away from my office. I can see their Pizza becoming a habit for me very quickly! For the next office party, I'm ordering their huge, colossal pizza. I had a group of ladies today playing cards and we decided to order pizza from Pizza World which is down the street like a 1/2 mile. We had 12 different orders and was not sure of the prices. We called in and then had to call back for the prices but so nice and the whole order was correct, very good, hot and delicious. I wanted to thank the delivery girl who was so courteous and helpful with the order. Thanks again for making our lunch special and we will do it again. We play once a month and will order again. I thought I would really love Pizza World seeing as I only live around the corner and they are under new management, I was wrong. I've ordered from them at least 5x's and 3/5x's something has been wrong with my order. Either it's completely wrong like last night when I ordered chicken Alfredo pasta and I was given a chicken Alfredo pizza instead or when I previously had the pasta and found a piece of plastic in the dish while eating it! I also asked for a Sierra Mist fountain drink once and received something that tasted like lemonade! Even when they remade the pasta last night, I guess they figured since I wasn't paying for it bc it was their mistake, they made the pasta much worse than I've ever had it before. It was much less pasta, sauce, and it was over cooked!! I keep giving them chance after chance hoping it'll get better but it is always something wrong!! This place has is not hygienic at all, after I had already had a few slice I noticed them preparing other pizzas. They do not wash their hands after touching money, picking up the phone, washing tables, or digging up their nose (just wiped his finger tips on his apron). We ordered 4 whole sandwiches and was extremely dissatisfied . The sandwiches had hardly any meat or vegetables on them. Instead of a veggie sandwich it looked like just a bread sandwich. Called Pizza World and explained my dissatisfaction to the manager. He refunded all our money. I fault management for not looking at what their cooks are sending out, this makes no sense at all. The pizza itself was great, but we'd recommend take-out or delivery over eating in. The Board of Health had given this Pizza World an "A" rating, so we weren't expecting the messy dining area that we came across there. We went in at an off-time (2 pm) and were the only customers. Slow as business was at that time of day, every single one of its nine tables was still somehow dirty (cheese oil, hot pepper flakes, straw wrappers), as was the floor (used napkins, stray pepperoni slices, old drink lids). The hanging-ceiling panels were water-stained, and the blades of the ceiling fans whirring above us were downright gross--covered in what looked like months and months of accumulated dust. Even our tween sons, who are anything but clean freaks, commented on the unsanitary state of the dining area. That said, they still loved the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles clock on the wall. After bringing our pizzas and some paper plates (though not enough for our small group) to our tables, the cashier disappeared--sadly, not to get a hot washcloth to wipe down our dirty tables, just to go to a back room somewhere. The man and young woman working there were nice enough, but they seemed to lack "hussle" and seemed oblivious to the state of the dining area. Again, the pizza itself was delicious, but the lack of cleanliness gave us the heebie-jeebies. This pizza place could be downright great--once it gets the stem-to-stern cleaning it needs. read more
