Came here to celebrate my promotion with my fiancé. We were pleasantly surprised as our favorite Italian restaurant is Alza Osteria in Brea. We were surprised there was good Italian in Chino, closer to us. We got a pizza with 4 or 4 toppings, very delicious, the dough was fresh and the sauce was zesty. We also got the caprese as an appetizer. It was bomb. The Blanca vino dish was awesome, it was linguine with white wine and seafood. I actually told my fiancé we could totally get pizza to go next time because it was so good. The bartender was Justin, he was really food because I asked for an off the menu rum cocktail and he made me something that was citrus based, so delicious, it was called something with missionary. They had fruit flies for days! When we said something to the server she said the owner was there and we should say something to them. They wouldn't listen to the staff. It is also the managers responsibility to maintain the space. 2 days later, my husband and I are still sick after eating there. First visit, large group, celebrating the holidays. SERVICE: Excellent. The two young ladies who waited on our group of 27 were wonderful. They had assistance from a couple young men who delivered the bread/butter and Bruschetta, as well as cleared the tables between courses. Everyone was friendly and did a great job. FOOD: Due to our group size, we were given a pre-fixe menu with select appetizer and entrée choices. I started with the Tomato Bisque soup which was awesome! Several of us who tried it said it was one of the best we've ever had. My wife had the Cesar Salad, which was good, but nothing out of the ordinary. For entrées, we both ordered medium rare Filet Mignon, but one was closer to medium well. I also got to try the Cacio e Pepe (cheese & black pepper pasta) which was nice. The last selection was a Chicken Milanese, which was a thinly pounded, breaded chicken breast, fried and served with a side salad. Those that ate this had only good comments. At the suggestion of our waitress, we finished off the evening with an Espresso Tartufo (delicious) and a slice of Pumpkin Cheesecake (frozen and very difficult to eat). Pizzaioli is a family favorite. Great community environment. You can tell there are people who go there often because of the way everyone interacts and is so friendly with one another. And then no one came to take our drink order for over 20 minutes. 7 female servers walked by us but no smile or help. There were 6 tables and 7 servers. This has been one of our favorite Italian eateries in Southern California; though we haven't been here for a while due to all the new restaurants opening up here in Chino Hills/Chino area. The steak was excellent and true to medium rare with mash potatoes, crispy onions and spinach topped with mushroom sauce. The quality of the meat was very good. The pasta was excellent as in the past. For desert, we had the chocolate ganache with ice cream, which was a molten lava cake. It was very good, but very sweet. During Covid-19, they do have outdoor sitting. When we went tables were open so walked in and picked our table. Safety wise they were pretty good. Food: we ordered Penne Pasta with pink sauce, which was very good. The pasta was well cooked. My favorite part was the pizza it was soft and crispy! Perfection, from start to finish! I've lived in Chino for 3+ decades and somehow this was only my second visit (the first was years ago when I was too young to really remember). I've been missing out! Wanted to go on a date night that wasn't really fancy but a more upscale than a chain restaurant and we were really pleased. We didn't have reservations but only waited about 10 mins on a Saturday night. The inside is deceptively large so although busy there is plenty of seating. A few people served us and were friendly, adding to the ambiance. They didn't offer us bread, but we asked for some and we're glad because it was delicious. We used it to soak up the amazing sauce on the Gamberetti. Really great shrimp app. My boyfriend ordered the linguine and meatballs. His meatballs were huge and he enjoyed the dish. Gave it a 7/10. I usually opt for the same dishes but with so many things on the menu that sounded tasty, I tried the chicken tortellini. Holy cow. I literally couldn't stop saying how good each bite was. The tortellini is made with spinach but it didn't taste like it at all (in case you're not a fan), and there's a jalapeño mozzarella sauce but it's not spicy at all (I can't do more than mild). The mozzarella sauce is so melty and mouthwatering - it makes the dish. I'm not a big chicken fan, but this dish was 10/10. One of the best Italian meals I've ever had! Our wines paired perfectly with our meals (thanks for our server for the suggestions). And finally the cannolis were a hit, too. Personally I don't like cannolis but my boyfriend does and wished he'd placed two orders he liked them so much. Overall, a wonderful experience with authentic Italian food. The food is very tasty and diversified and draws a mixed crowd. The pizza seems to be well liked by the patrons and I've had good success with the entrée items, especially the pasta dishes. We had a party reservation of 13 for a friends birthday dinner. All was wonderful till we received the bill. We had 4 separate checks for the table and each of us received charges for things that weren't communicated or on the menu in fine print. In addition to the desserts ordered, we had brought a cake to celebrate and was charged an "outside food fee" of $7 per check. That's was an extra $28 total for the cake. This left us with some questions: Would we have been charged $7 once if we had 1 check? Why didn't our waitress let us know? Why wouldn't that fee be waived if we all ordered desserts? Speaking of desserts; my partner and I ordered the Chocolate Ganache after our meals. We asked our waitress what that entailed and she told us it was a Lava Cake with Ice Cream. Once we got the bill we noticed a $4 charge for ice cream! Why did you tell us it came with ice cream and proceed to charge us for it? It was our first time dining at Pizzaioli and the food was great. However, we won't be returning after finding all these hidden charges on our bill. We wish our waitress was more transparent and open with these fees or at the very least, have them listed on the menu. If you are going to dine here, please ask up front before ordering! We were flabbergasted when we saw the bill cause how in the world was it nearly $300!!!! Be AWARE they offer you bread (we said yes because usually when you go to a restaurant it's ALWAYS complimentary) NOT here it's not. They even charged us $10 for the little tomato dip the COLD UNTOASTED UNFLAVORFUL bread it's paired with. They also took a long time with the food. Also we wanted to exchange a plate because we mispronounced the original plate that we wanted to order so we got one we DIDN'T want. And we were FORCED to just eat it because they WOULD NOT WHAT SO EVER replace it. They said you can take it to go and we'll charge it and just bring you another plate and charge that one aswell. Fffffffff NO!!! I've been to ACTUAL HIGH END places and I've never had a server tell me they couldn't exchange it for anything else (not that I've had too only once). I was also a server of 9 years and I had NEVER or would have ever told any of my customers that. Not to mention my Alfredo tasted like rubber chicken.
