Shima Steak and Chicken Lunch Combo

Amazing service, food, and presentation. I have been coming here for over 10 years and I have never been disappointed by this place. Way more affordable than Benihana. Truly a hidden gem and one of the best places you'll eat in Chino. Chef Hokey is the one to request if you can, he's worth the tips. Trust me. Our server Alex was pretty great and attentive too.

Came for a casual dinner with one of my besties because she heard this place was good and it was so close to home. Immediately we were greeted by the friendly host and seated right away. Everyone was so quick and attentive. Cocktail was cute and sassy, just the way we like it! The chef was so fun and entertaining, not cheesy like some of these spots can be. Food was fresh and so good! Well definitely come again and bring the rest of the crew! Definitely come early or make reservations if you have a large party. It gets busy.

My husband and I wanted to celebrate our cousin's birthday and asked her what she wanted. We all love teppanyaki, and she had been here before so we decided to eat here. We both ordered the Lunch Combination. I ordered chicken and scallops, and my husband ordered fish and shrimp. We both substituted fried rice for white rice. We always ask for light butter and no salt, and the chef accommodated our request. He was very entertaining and comical. The only complaint I have is that I ordered a salad, and there must've been half a cup of dressing in the bowl. It was way too much and I couldn't eat it. Other than that, everything was great! I'd definitely visit again when I'm in the mood for teppanyaki!

The food here is amazing! I've been coming since they opened! They have always given fantastic service and a great environment to celebrate or just come eat! Our favorite chef is Hokey! He was off when we went this past time and had Rudy. Who made our dinner very special as we were celebrating my son's 10th birthday and grandpas 88th! Thank you Shima's for always providing quality food and service!

This place was great! I came on a Thursday afternoon for lunch. It was very big and spacious inside, and bit crowded at the time. You have the choice to sit at the sushi bar or by the stove where they cook the food in front of you, hibachi style. The miso soup was flavorful. They had good ginger beer. I tried their lunch combinations and the filet mignon, chicken, scallops, and shrimp were all good. The rice had so much flavor, I loved the garlic butter. Our server was the best! He was very energetic and really put on a show for us. Our food was delicious too! I would highly recommend and definitely return. Thanks for the great service! :)

Knocked off a few stars for their prices. Paid $211 including tip for 3 adult meals; 1 children's meal; and 2 garlic edamame. No sushi and no alcohol. No sodas either. The men's restroom is gross. It's dirty. Needs to be cleaned and/or remodeled. My favorite chefs are Alex and Alberto. In my opinion, best cooks in house. Food is delicious. You do get large portions. It's very filling. Great flavor too. It's a shame that we can no longer request a chef. That's too bad. I will come back here for lunch. It's cheaper and smaller portions.

The chef was a total blast to watch, but they went way too heavy on the salt and butter--everything ended up tasting exactly the same.

Ask the Community - Shima Japanese Restaurant

How many people can sit at one grill?

I believe it's up to 10 for one grill and one chef.

Can anyone please tell me where Supi went to? Thanks in advance.

Hi honey.. I'm back at Tokyo kitchen in Montclair 😊

Us this all you can eat?

No it isn’t AYCE. Their rolls are big and great quality though. I’m full after only 1-2, which is cheaper than most AYCE places.

    Gluten free friendly?

    Yes it is

I felt very relaxed the whole time. The inside of the restaurant was also nice and cool, which was perfect for sushi. There is just something about enjoying fresh sushi in a cool, comfortable atmosphere that makes the meal even better. food was great as always. I highly recommend the carpaccio! It was fresh, flavorful, and definitely one of my favorite items from this visit. I also tried several different skewers this time, and honestly, every single one was a success. One of my favorite little traditions is starting the meal with their sake served in the wooden box. It makes it fun taking shots. If you're looking for fresh sushi, great Japanese dishes & a restaurant that's earned a loyal following for good reason, Ojiya is a must-try!

What stood out to me was the rice to fish ratio. The rice was small and the fish was generously thick, which made every bite super satisfying. I honestly can't remember having sushi quite like that before. The chefs are from Japan, so you can tell the food is authentic. We also ordered the teriyaki bowl. It was okay, but nothing special. The Chirashi bowl, on the other hand, was packed with fish and definitely worth the price. Overall, if you're a sushi lover, I'd highly recommend giving this place a try.
