Not in a bad way of course, but the family and I decided to give them all a shot. We started with Pizza Man Dan's and that's right where we should have stopped. Not much on atmosphere, but the pizza is delicious! We happened upon PizzaMan Dan's as we were winding down a road trip and were grateful for all the space they offer. There is ample parking in their private lot and inside, they offer several banquet style community tables in addition to regular tables and booths. The restaurant was clean, although we rarely saw the staff leave the kitchen area and they have a nice little arcade to keep the kids (and the young at heart) occupied. The pizza was great. My two year old ate more of the pizza here than at any other restaurant! WEDDING SAVERS!!! Our caterer for our wedding bailed an hour before food was to supposed to be served. I was able to call them after the reception on the way to the ceremony, and the girl who helped me on the phone was so sweet. She even helped me to do the math and find out how many pizzas we needed to order for our 50 guests. Once I placed my order I was told it would be about an hour before they were delivered (which I was super happy about considering how many I had ordered) but less than 20 minutes later as we are walking in to the venue, the pizza is being delivered. We have been ordering through them for a long time but this was awful. The dough was slightly undercooked but I doubt that is what did it. We had an excellent delivery experience with PizzaMan Dans. They deliver to the Crowne Plaza on Venture beach and the delivery time was freaky fast! The delivery man even brought the food to our room rather than making us meet him in the lobby after midnight. Food arrived very hot and fresh. I am picky about pizza and really enjoyed theirs. The wings were smothered in sauce, which I also liked. Nothing worse than wings skimpy on the sauce. We also ordered the jalapeño poppers, which were really good! The food is reasonably priced and they have a wide selection to choose from. My only complaint was that I asked for Banana peppers on half of the pizza and they didn't have any. I'm not just talking the best pizza in Ventura, but the best I've had in SoCal. Best bang for your buck. The combination of a great staff, affordable price and quality pizza make this place a must. I've been in a funk lately. It could be the recent election. Could be just worn out from all the other responsibilities placed upon me- I seem to take care of everything and everybody before myself. Or it could just be me at this time of year. No matter the reason, I've not been feeling like my usual sunny self. A good friend invited me to mass this evening and I got fed spiritually which perked me right up. About halfway through the mass though I had to say a little prayer nobody but me heard my stomach growling. I'd hate to be the cause of mass panic among my fellow parishioners that a hungry bear had come to celebrate their own dinner. The daily question of what's for dinner from my housemate made me stop and wonder why I'd not thought of an answer before 6:30 at night so Pizza Man Dan via the Yelp app was the answer. The BBQ chicken pizza with cashews is my favorite pie from them and tonight's offering did not disappoint. Always hot and delicious and a good alternative to the lower priced but boring national chains. I could do with a little less BBQ sauce and will request that on the next order. We placed an order for delivery to a camp site and when the food delivery came we were missing items and the pizza arrived cold. When I called the location to question where my food was the girl who answered the phone was extremely unaccommodating and was not friendly. I called back to speak to a manager and the manager told me the girl on the phone "was nervous". I asked if I needed to dispute a charge to get a refund and they took that as if I was threatening them with a dispute. I called back the next day and spoke to a really nice gal and she told me that she would place my information on the owners desk and they would mail me a check for the amount of the food items that I placed an order for. It has been over a week so I called to follow up on where the check was. The girl who I was following up told me that they were not longer mailing me a check because I threatened to dispute a charge. I told them that I did not dispute a charge because I spoke with the manager and she handled the matter appropriately and said she would mail a refund. No one called to tell me that they would not mail me a refund. Avoid doing business with these people. They have the worst customer service and are too "nervous" to do the right thing. read more

Pizza was very good! The salad greens were not fresh and the salad appeared that old greens were covered by some not so fresh tomato and reasonably fresh broccoli , cauliflower and cucumber slices. I recommend making your own salad and saving your money, this salad was almost $10 The delivery guy was friendly but did not give me change. I had every intention of tipping but not so much as I already paid a delivery fee. I think delivery people should ALWAYS give change unless told to keep the change. I'm not going to demand he return my change but most likely will not do delivery here again. Overall I paid $40 (including the change the delivery guy took) from r something that should have run $30 including tip.
