Pizza man Dan use to be the spot to go to. But now that prices are high l, quality is lower you might as well spend the money for toppers. The wings are 17.99$ for 12 and they are very small, and the pizzas are small for a large as well. We loved getting coupons in the mail, don't receive those anymore. We loved the pizza man special for 25$ for a large pie and wings but now it comes out to 33$ pizza smaller and wings tiny. I just wish quality stayed the same over the years. read more

Just writing a review to let the owners know that it would be appreciated if Pizza Man Dan's did not distribute so many hand-outs at our front doors! One was just delivered about a month ago. A person does not need a new menu a month later. You advertise everywhere and most locals know about your specials already. These glossy, expensive handouts make me feel guilty about recycling (am I even supposed to be recycling glossy paper?). Two men on foot delivered the last menu at my door. Hoping this feedback helps you to save $ and to help you understand how we feel in our neighborhood off of The Avenue. TY read more

Tried the sample appetizer platter . Not good. Thick batter deep fried hard over small pieces of chicken, awful Mac and cheese, poppers, and mozzarella. Got a large pan pizza with mushroom, sausage, and meatballs. Not good. Thick ,bread like crust . Thin layer of toppings. read more

Recently went to Ventura for my husband's birthday and we were craving a good pizza. We are both vegetarians so we are a little extra picky with pizza since we have limited topping options. Based on other reviews we decided to go with Pizza Man Dan's and we are soooooo glad we did! We got a thin crust pizza with peppers, onions and mushroom and it was amazing. They are generous with the toppings and the thin crus isn't too thin. We will definitely be back. We also had the pizza delivered to the hotel and it was super fast on a thursday evening. SOLID 4 stars. Maybe even 4.5. Funny enough, my experience started in the back parking lot as I entered through the alley way and parked behind the store only to realize that I had just blocked their catering truck. I walked up the the guys loading all their gear into their truck and asked how long they would be as I just realized I was blocking their exit. Their were so not annoyed! In fact they were gracious and said they would be done in a few moments if I wanted to wait and informed me that there were a few open spaces in the front. I opted to move out of their way and found a spot in front. Entered through the front door and this place has such a great neighborhood vibe. Super clean, friendly, with lots of pictures and what-nots showing ties to the community. Sauntered my way up to the counter and took a gander at the menu. Service was STELLAR! I had a rough day and was a bit spacey and, as it was my first time here, uncertain of how things worked, the specials etc., but the kind Betty at the register was patient, friendly and more than willing to put me at ease as she laid out the 411 for lunch specials. I ordered an individual pep, pineapple, ex cheese with jalapeños on the side and (of course) an 805. YUMMY thin crust pizza reminiscent of Toppers which I love, but with the mom-n-pop feel, which I also love! Great vibe. I'll be back!! Wow!!! Although the thin crust is not that crispy the cheese, sauce n toppings make up for them in spades. I ordered the meatball and Italian sausage pizza. The amount of toppings is outrageous! Seriously look at the pictures. The meatballs are moist and give you a mouthful. The sausage is so tasty, highly recommend not spicy at all. So we sprinkled the peppers on it. My hubs ordered the pepperoni and Canadian bacon. Same thing, huge amounts of meat. They must use quality ingredients. The cheese on both pizzas are tasty. Perfect amount of sauce. So disappointed. We called for delivery, and after about an hour, I questioned why it was taking so long. I was camping at Rincon Parkway last week and decided to try this place, everyone raves about the pizza. I called and ordered a large pepperoni, they applied the $2 off coupon and delivered the pizza in less time than they told me on the phone. The delivery gal had on her mask and was very nice. The pizza was excellent and my brother who is kind of a pizza snob, really liked it. The box is cute because the top part you can use as a "bib". It has a cutout for your neck and is decorated like a shirt. Very clever. I am a huge fan of Pizza Man Dan's and will order again when camping in Ventura. I highly recommend it. read more

OOOOOMMMMMGGGGGG!!!! I have never ordered from here in the past. When I got a coupon, I thought that maybe I will give this a try. It was the smartest decision I could have made. I ordered the Meatsa Calzone. The crust was perfect and the filling was incredible. Someone call the cops because this should be illegal! We were staying in the Hotel Inn right across the street, and thought why not? We ordered the thin crust Hawaiian BBQ pizza which is no longer on their menu (but they made it anyways). This was, hands down, the best specialty pizza I've ever had. It's essentially a Hawaiian pizza/BBQ pizza hybrid, so the taste exploded in my mouth. The thin crust was just the right amount of dough, so I'd recommend it versus pan. We had the jalapeños added too, but I would suggest to hold the chorizo. I like chorizo, but I think its spiciness could take away from the pizza. And next time we're going to ask for more of the BBQ sauce. It was sooo good. I definitely recommend this place, and specifically this pizza. read more
