We were visiting Ventura for the day and came across PizzaMan Dan's. We were helped promptly; the girl who took our order even told us their special was a better price than what we were ordering. We ordered a large pizza, order of chicken wings and potato wedges. The pizza was delicious! The wings were good too, although they were smaller than anticipated. I didn't eat the potato wedges but my husband seemed to enjoy them. We will definitely come back! The only down side was that it was a little too warm inside. read more

We used to order from here twice a week but after so many chances, we are walking away for good. They constantly undercook the pizza dough. I have asked for extra crispy multiple times to try and avoid this problem but every time... undercooked doughy crust.. gross. It's also OBSCENELY overpriced. No one in Ventura charged this much, it's absolutely ridiculous. Toppers is way better quality and cheaper. Last Saturday, me and about 20 other people met up here for a party (after making a reservation a few days prior) and we got the kindest of treatment. They gave us the private room in the back and put up with all of our giddy cheering and general loudness. We even met the eponymous Pizzaman Dan himself, who was just really fun and awesome. I asked the driver about this and he said it was because I ordered online and that i should call the restaurant about it and they would adjust the billing. I did - and they refused. I'm staying with Giovanni's! 7/8/2018 I went into the restaurant today and talked to the manager - while what they charged me was over what i should have been charged, it wasn't by as much as I thought. I didn't calculate in the delivery charge of $3 and tax. I apologize for my mistake on my end. Pizza Man Dan's sells the most overpriced pizza this side of the galaxy. Their online pizza calculator, patent number 1737424, estimated 4 adults would eat 2 medium cheese pizzas at a cost of $20. I was not surprised at the $24 total when I called in 2 medium pizzas with a few extra toppings. However I was surprised when only one pizza showed up 20 parsecs after the order was placed. "Whoops did u forget one of the pizzas?" I said to the nice delivery man. "No I did not" said the nice delivery man. Looking at the receipt, turns out a vegetarian pizza costs $23 plus tax. "That's weird" I thought to myself, "how can a cheese pizza cost $10 while a vegetarian pizza costs $24?". I bet the $14 worth of vegetables are macro organics from west sector, planet 39. I called Pizza Man Dan's to inform them that I had in fact ordered 2 pizzas and how I was confused with the seemingly obvious system malfunction. Turns out there wasn't a malfunction, Dan actually charges customers $14 for the handful of vegetables added to a medium pizza. However in a shining example of customer support Pizza Man Dan's offered to replace the pizza we had originally ordered... For an additional the price of $24... Which I politely declined. We walked over after enjoying some beers at a few local pubs to get a pizza and take back to our Hotel. This place is an old Shakey's I believe and still has that old pizza parlor vibe. We ordered our pizza, enjoyed a draft while we waited and it was only a short wait. The staff was fun and friendly and the pizza was very tasty. This is for this location only. I go once a week to the Victoria one which is amazing. I came here at 9pm on my birth day to get my free pizza. I got that and beer and jalapeño poppers. I went in there and was standing 4 minutes till I got helped even though they seen me. The guy in the counter was decent. So I got my pizza which was good. Never got my poppers but I was like they will bring them out once there fully cooked. They never came till I asked for them . Same guy who helped me put them in the fryer with his bare hands without washing them. One minute later I got them to my table. And the inside was super cold. For 6 bucks that's crazy.
