Ok so the fundraising event is happening, bunches of families with gobs of kids everywhere. Orders are being taken in an attempted orderly fashion, only for families to discover no seating available! Ok make it work! We have to sit to eat, and be here for the maestros grand finale at 7!! Oh, look, here's some tables in the back. One has a paper plate with reserved written on it! C'mon, are you serious? Then the RUDE server comes in and shouts to all of us families enjoying our meals that we have to leave. Ok really? We're eating ! Not loitering. There's no other spots. In town for the 4th from the Bay Area with my boys and they love pizza like their dad. So, as soon as I checked in to our hotel I got on Yelp to see who was still doing delivery at 10pm and Dan's was. I was weary cause everyone else was closed and this was our only option but I was pleasantly surprised! The pizza got here quick, less than 30mins and it was delicious! Avoid. I got 2 pizzas , one was a taco pizza with a bean sauce instead of red. Sounds good but it's not. The pepperoni pizza was greasy on top and dry on bottom. Being 100 % honest this is the 1st pizza I ever threw away. I even tried to eat it the next day to see it reheated pizza was better it wasn't. Only reason it got one star was the phone guy was very friendly and fast delivery. But I can honestly say the taco pizza was one of the worst pizzas I've ever had. Best thing is ordering online- you can customize your order and it's all inputted for them to see clearly what you want. I have had the gluten free crust- it's pretty good. Yesterday, I ordered a large cheese pizza and he charged me $27.00. Are you kidding me? and I had to wait 40 minutes. And frankly it was nothing more than bread on meat sauce. Apparently Pizza Man Dan's took over Rusty's Pizza in Ventura. We were happy with the pizza and the delivery was very prompt, delivery guy was friendly and helpful. Worst pizza I've ever had in my life, and that includes frozen pizza. At least those can be doctored with fresh ingredients (like extra shredded cheese). I ordered two pizzas, salad, breadsticks, soda, the works. I usually order from Topper's (and love them!) but my kids' school was doing a fundraiser with Rusty's and I figured it was for a good cause. So everything gets delivered and we All sit down to eat. Well, first off, the pizza looks terrible. Thin (pan) crust, rubbery, and overcooked. But this is dinner, so we take our slices. Have you ever eaten something so salty that it's literally inedible? That's the biggest problem with Rusty's. The food is terrible. The fact that anyone eats there is nothing short of amazing to me, especially since quality pizzerias like Toppers and Round Table have been around forever. Topper's is even about the same price as Rusty's ($13 for a large). Spare yourself the trauma and don't ever eat at Rusty's. You've been warned! read more

I don't normally post this sort of thing but this is so upsetting. DISCRIMINATION! If you care about human rights I don't recommend this business. I went today with family to watch the football game. A male in our group was wearing a partially shear tank top with embroidered design. Security came and asked him to cover up because "it was making people in front uncomfortable" Although this was not cool he agreed and borrowed a flannel from someone. When he removed it to leave he was approached instantly asking him to put it back on. He left because it was not worth the fight to him. We asked around and no one admitted to having a problem. I found the most superior staff there was not even a manger but just a supervisor. When questioned she said that it was a matter of dress code. I know 100. % if this were a woman in partially shear tank with her bra no one would complain. LGBT community have had to deal with this s*#^ way too long welcome to the 21st century people. Also the Micheladas SUCK. I will not return and I hope if you are LGBT, love some who is, or just believe people should be able to wear the clothing they choose you won't go either. read more

I found Rusty's about 10:30 on a Wednesday night listed as "Open late" on Yelp. I was starving after a long day of work & driving. I didn't want fast food and the Yelp reviews looked good. This is the classic pizza place with the usual menu. I was hungry but eating solo - a pizza sounded too ominous. I went with the meat calzone and hot wings. While my food was being prepared I found myself with a mug of Negro Modelo checking out the video games. I was shocked to see that it was now ¢50 to play Galaga but had a blast playing it since I did better than I ever remember doing as a kid. When it said "Game over - insert coins to continue", I dove into my pocket without a thought, just like I was spending my Dad's quarters again. The food was pretty good and just what I needed. The wings are fried then tossed in sauce. I had "Hot" which were quite good but next time I will try the "killer"'. I think the sauce may be Franks Red Hot, as it's a tangy cayenne sauce. The calzone was good but I'm glad I got mushrooms & jalapeños to balance out the pocket full of meat. It was actually quite good, with a fresh crust. The sausage was only fair - obviously the little frozen pellets like you get on a Totino's frozen pizza in a box. Today, I was treated staff as if I wasn't human. I waited almost an hour for a Calzone and I did get my order, the server threw the pan down on the table. I had never been treated like at any pizza Parlor until today. I advise everyone to take your business elsewhere. The color of my money is the same shade of green as anyone else. read more

My league mates and I come to this location after every one of our home games. There's always a pretty large group of us that typically fill up the whole place, and Rain (the manager) and her staff are always so great and patient with us all. I am so excited I found this place and am hooked! Their deep dish crust is to die for and reminds me of the way Toppers used to make their crust. I usually go to toppers for pizza but this place is just as good. The pizza is crispier and you can buy it by the slice. Their pizzas are a good size portion and their prices are not too expensive. Their jalapeño poppers are delicious and they are big in size. The restaurant space is pretty big and the best thing is that the wait time for your pizza won't take forever. The staff is always friendly. The other day I ordered a pepperoni jalapeño slice and they brought me just a pepperoni slice. I told the worker that I had ordered the slice with jalapeños. Without hesitation he apologized and told me to keep the pepperoni slice and that he will make me another slice on the house with jalapeños. Well... Pizza Man Dan's has bought out pretty much all of the other small/good pizza places in my area... much to my displeasure when I tried to eat at Me & Ed's a few months ago... I finally got around to trying their pizza yesterday and... well... meh. It tasted almost exactly like Pizza Hut at double the price. So it wasn't terrible... but I was totally unimpressed.
