First experience I had was not the best... I ordered garlic knots with a side of alfredo, the alfredo was runny and had absolutely no flavor. I keep giving this place a chance hoping for the better and every time the food is just blah and very expensive. The only thing I have liked here is a reheated slice of pizza for lunch. The pizza is okay. We usually get the special on Monday or Tuesday, a cheese pizza for $8. I ordered tiramisu and it was moldy, which was really disappointing. I called and they offered to deliver a different dessert, but I just asked for a refund. We probably won't be back. read more

my wife and I have been coming to this restaurant for years now. although the facility was getting a little tired, we enjoyed the food and staff. we were so excited for the owners when we heard they had purchased a building near by and we're going to renovate the space and move their business there. they recently made the move and we decided to have supper their. when we walked into the building we were nearly overwhelmed by the noise level. I felt like I was back in my college days going to a local bar/pub. The noise level was almost to the point of being intolerable. Add in the restaurant tables were crowded together allowing no room for privacy, comfort and relaxation while enjoying your meal. The restaurant felt and looked like a typical fast food joint rather than a casual eatery. But, because we had always enjoyed the food we opted to stay and give it a try. I ordered lasagna for my meal. When it arrived it was ice cold. I asked the waitress to take it back and have the staff microwave it to make it hot. When it came back to me the entire center of the lasagna was still cold and not even a little warm. Fortunately my wife's eggplant rolatinni was as good as always. It may have been a 50/50 evening food wise but the facility is so bad inside as set up and the noise level is so loud we will not be returning. As a returning customer, I am very disappointed with my most recent visit. When we were seated, it was said that our waiter would soon be out to take our drink orders. We waited 6-8 minutes before she came. We think her name is Gabby, don't really remember, she had big earrings and hispanic. She came to us and instantly tried to be really friendly with us, asking how our days were. This really wasn't the question we were wanting to be asked to us considering how poor our waitress's service has already proved to be. She was overwhelmingly friendly. Someone has to tell her to stop saying "my pleasure." After ordering our meals and drinks, she still has yet to bring us our drinks after about another 5 or so minutes, seeing her wait other tables and refill their drinks. We had to physically get up and get her attention to tell her to get us our drink. When she returned with our drinks we told her how upset we were and told her about our lengthy day and how stressful it was. She tried to make it a competition and complained about her day even more, saying things that make it seem like her job as a waitress so much more detrimental and laborious than our day was. Left a poor tip. She didn't know how to manage her priorities correctly. Terrible service. This used to be my favorite Italian restaurant for meals and pizza. Spent $25.00 on pizza for 2 people and it was horrible! Love fresh garlic and cheese pizza. They use to finely cut the garlic and sprinkle all over. The pizza I got last night was dry with little sauce and whole garlic cloves quarters were on the pizza and no taste unless you bit into the cloves of garlic. The few times we've tried their food it was always delivery, so I can't speak for the staff and the experience of dining in. First time we tried this place we tried the chicken alfredo and baked ziti. It was delicious and still piping hot when we received it. We've been looking for a pizza place to be our go to place, so next we tried their pizza and I'll just say this...you won't be disappointed. I love that you can pick what kind of sauce you want on your pizza. The marinara basil sauce is amazing! The drivers are always pleasant when they arrive, and the food is always on time. What initially pulled me into this place was it's name...PIZZAVOLA! It just sounds good. And it's GREAT! We needed to pick up something quick and someone shouted out pizza so pizza it was. I, of course, used Yelp because who else would you ask?! Any way, it was an order to go, but the staff made us feel like family! As soon as you walk in the door you're greeted with "Welcome to PizzaVola" by all the staff. I love that kitchen is open and right in the middle. We got to make conversation with all staff and Owner, I believe, who's from NY. He was awesome! Very personable and who doesn't like a Staten Island accent?? haha He gave me a cannoli since it was my birthday that was soooo good! We ordered the Eggplant Rollatini, Lasagna, Vegetarian, and Cheese pizzas...that Lasagna...on point! We ordered 4 large pizzas to feed 9 people and we had 1 pie left over. We also got a salad and fried zucchini. All of it was delicious. I wish I lived closer, but I will go back when visiting the in-laws! My husband ordered the Stromboli because of the raving reviews. He wasn't impressed. I ordered the pasta trio and I wasn't impressed. The 2 stars are for the waitress. She was attentive. 5 minutes after arriving something fell in the kitchen..loud boom. I don't know what happened but someone was yelling to someone else immediately. For about 5 minutes. It stressed me. I looked at the other tables to see their reaction because it was loud. I feel so bad for whoever got yelled at. I hope your wages are worth it but you need to find employment elsewhere. I was so uncomfortable. So...the food came out borderline cold. Went to Pizza Vola tonight as we wanted to have a gormet pizza with a bottle of wine. We entered the right door to the dining area at 8:10 pm and noticed the sign on the door stated the restaurant closed at 9pm. There was three bar stools blocking the entrance to the front counter. We asked the 4 delivery drivers if they were still open and they replied "yes". We pushed by the bar stools and waited to be sat or greated by someone but no-one paid any attention and there was no cashier. My date went to the bathroom while I waited to be recognized. After 2 more Minutes I called to one of the many people working in the kitchen and asked if it was alright to have a seat at the bar area. The young man asked the "pizza maker" and he said it was permissible and the younger man invited me to sit down. I sat down and waited for my date to return. Phil exited the kitchen and immediately scolded me sitting in this area. I informed him that I asked and the two men in the kitchen said it was permissible. Phil paid this no attention and said "the floor is wet you will have to leave". I got up and left as told to by Phil and waited for my date to return from the bathroom across the completely dry floor. Phil approached us as we were leaving and said he wanted us to stay and I informed him he told me to leave and that is what I was doing. He argued with me that is not what he meant but its what I heard as I was already sitting down and he wanted me to get up and leave. Completely rude and inappropriate and if you do not want customers to sit in an area the lock the stupid door and then dont give them permission to sit down and once sat dont play musical chairs with them so you can close easier and get side work done quicker. Your business lost our $50 tonight and in the future because you didnt want to have to wipe down the bar again. Makes no sense. read more

This place is delicious. We got the pizza special, penne alla vodka, and chicken parm. Plainly put, everything tastes good because their sauce is amazing. The vodka sauce comes with bacon in it, and although it's good, I really would suggest getting it without the bacon in it since it's optional. If you don't mention that you don't want the bacon in it then it will be going in the vodka sauce. If the vodka sauce hit the mark, would have given it 5 stars. Pizza for 7.95 on Monday and Tuesdays. I ordered food to be delivered. For a bit under $40 (including tip), I got enough food for at least 3 days: Chicken Francese - tender and delicious; spaghetti with alfredo sauce (I substituted it instead of red sauce) - excellent -- believe me, there is an Italian restaurant (upscale chain) nearby and I have never had alfredo sauce from that place that was not "glue"!; I saved 1/2 the chicken and spaghetti alfredo for another meal; pasta fagiole soup (it's in the container, saved for tomorrow); garden salad (I ordered extra olives, tomatoes, cucumbers) -- it will be another meal. Then, there are 6 garlic rolls and 2 pieces of garlic bread left to accompany these goodies. Now, quantity is no issue -- it is the QUALITY that counts! But, when you get both quality and quantity -- now that's worth commenting on! The food arrived on time (ordered to arrive by 4 pm and it did so -- on the dot!) and it was all there, correctly done, food hot, salad cold. As a widow -- I often get food delivered. I had never been disappointed in Ferrara's on Minton (I did feel their tomato sauce was a bit bland, but that's a matter of personal taste!) and now the new owner has surpassed the excellent quality. I've had the pizza as well as other dishes, but this meal was exceptional and truly worth writing about. I recommend it without hesitation!
