It is a restaurant​ next to/attached to a shooting range. I have eaten here a few times and did not want to judge too harshly.....but if you are going to serve food serve good food. We ordered up the sweet tea and it was pretty good. We had some fried okra but it came out without​ any way to eat it.....hello toothpicks skewers or perhaps a fork? The ranch​h was rancid. I almost got sick right there.....something in my head said taste it....do not eat it...glad I did. The burger was servicable and my "club" was more like a dagwood then a club. It had lots of meat but I expected a club.....which has three pieces of bread. New little location. They ate part for a indoor shooting range. It's pretty cool. You know after blowing throught a thousand rounds. I get petty hungry and my muscles need some fresh protein to recover from all the recoil. You don't actually hear any guns going off inside the restaurant area and would never know there is a range only 50 feet away. The set up is a petty open cafe style. Nice new and clean. I really like the woods work around the bar. The blue quartz counter tops look really nice. Staff wad friendly. The food was great. I mean it's not a five star resort. One big new building. A gun store and indoor pistol and rifle ranges on one side and a restaurant on the other. Its an interesting concept and I like it alot. The service here is very good. Seated promptly and order taken right away. Follow ups by our server making sure we were happy was appreciated. I ordered a cup of the special soup made of frog leg and gator meat. I would not recommend because of their drink prices. I must say that the food is great for sure. Love all the food. We went today and we're offered the raspberry margaritas as the special of the day. It was wonderful but we got the bill and it was $13 for the margarita in a VERY small glass, filled all the way with ice. It was basically a shot. They charged on the bill $10 for the margarita and added another $3 for Patron. We didn't ask for Patron. They should have mentioned it up front. They charged $10 for the drink and then added another $3 for the Patron (on the bill). The food was great but don't order drinks! Robbery!!! Yellow Dog restaurant doesn't even charge that much. I have had just about everything on the menu and consider their food some of the best in town. The menu is limited but what they have is very good. I specifically like their reuben sandwich and sweet potato fries. Wait staff are always friendly and on slow days will visit in lite conversation. I have been going there for lunch and the range or range and lunch for over a year now and have never had poor service or bad food. What could be better than a full service gun range and firearms store coupled with an excellent restaurant? Life if full of surprises, I think that's what actually makes it worth living. 'Why?' you might ask? Because sometimes you get surprised by quick, uninformed choices for eating out. This is what happened to my wife and I with respect to the Double Tapp Grill. The Double Tapp Grill was on this particular evening located nearby where our son's marching band was being assessed for their performance during this season. We looked up the nearby restaurants, saw this one was closest and drove straight to it. Only knowing it was listed as 'American (New)', we were hoping to get in, eat, and get out quickly and that the food wouldn't be too bad. Well, not only was the service friendly and efficient, but the food we ate this evening was fabulous. After walking in and being impressed by the clear and airy decor, things started a bit slow for us. We were told we could sit anywhere we liked, so we did. But then we waited a while, long enough to make us nervous, before the staff kicked into high gear. The hostess and waitress apologized for our wait, we were then quickly served water, asked for our drinks and then they took our order in no time. My wife had their mushroom burger, our little niece had their kid's burger, and I had the chicken breast cordon blue sandwich. My wife and I shared so I can tell you both items were great. The fries I ordered were crispy, although her potato salad was pretty good. The waitress (a bubbly gal called Athena) did a great job of keeping my iced tea bottomless (I was very impressed) and she really did a nice job with our niece, talking to her and making her feel welcomed. They have some really great pies and cheesecake for dessert - I had their peanut butter pie while my wife had a raspberry chocolate cheesecake. But what made it extra special was the suggestion by Athena to put a dollop of chocolate soft serve on top each - I told her she needed to trademark the idea because it was brilliant. My only complaint, and it is really only a nit, was they only had the one waitress and hostess to serve a sizeable number of tables on a busy Saturday night. Poor Athena looked like she was running ragged, but she kept up with everything, somehow, nonetheless. The term double tapp comes from the order of your training officer to place two bullets center mass to the chest of your adversary. The connotation as it applies to this restaurant is apropos. The Double Tapp Grill is really an ancillary afterthought to the gun shoppe and gun range attached to this Eatery. While the range and gun store are filled with people deluded by the Babbittry of their lives, little do they know the exquisite taste delights that exist just a few feet away. The menu here is unique I ordered fried cheese curds, gator tail and frog legs. The curds were fried and I knew immediately they had been prepared on premises. The batter is light and allows the flavor of the cheese to shine. The frog legs were light fried with no batter. I found this to be original because usually cooks turn them into chicken wings but here they were quick fried, then daintily covered in a mango habanero sauce that had the proper balance and depth of flavor. The gator tail however was the real star. Alligator essentially always bland. Gideon, the chef at Double Tapp, has created a dredge that knocks your socks off. This is a fairly new place. I believe it's attached to a gun range? Hmm. The building looks great on the outside so we decided to stop in and be nosey :) We didn't know it was a few minutes til opening time until the bartender almost had us leave. She asked if we could come back in about 8 minutes. That would've been a big fat NO. I think the server saw the look on my face and she was kind enough to seat us anyway. The place is nice and clean! There is a fully stocked bar and TV's playing fishing tournaments. Country music on the radio too! The food was pretty good. We each ordered bowls of the Crab bisque which was the soup of the day. It was GREAT.. Except for the constant crunch of crab shells in the soup :( we had a little collection going.. It's to be expected, but still. Yikes. I ordered the Roast Beef sandwich and it was HUGE. I wound up taking the other half home. Make sure you come to this establishment hungry! I have to say that the tea is what won me over. They have this ice Green Tea. Yuuuuum! It was perfect for this scorching summer day. The server was absolutely perfect. She helped me decide on a soup (even if it was a chore to eat) and recommended the tea. For lunch, the menu is well thought out. My wife and i Went for lunch today and will not be going back. First sat at a table and even though the restaurant was less than half full it took a long time for someone even came to take out order. Next, once we ordered it took about 30 minutes before we got our food. When we did get our food was lukewarm at best. As for eating the food it was fair. Ordered fish and a meatloaf. With the fish they brought no tartar sauce in the meatloaf there's no more than a large meat patty with some mushrooms onions and barbecue sauce. We try to get waitresses attention to refill our drinks and bring sauces which they did not do. They wouldn't even come by the table. I finally had to get up and go get one to come over. But it didn't in there. When we were finished eating we kept waiting for a check and they would never even pay attention. I finally again walked across the room to track someone down. Once they brought us a check they had other peoples food listed on our check. So I pointed this out and they corrected it. Then I gave him cash for the bill and I waited my change. Instead of bringing me back change they brought me back the amount of the bill. Which was $10 less than it should've been. So again I get up and track them down for that. So needless to say management needs to review how the service is being performed. And make some dramatic changes read more

We noticed this oddly-named shooting range on our way to pick up something from a pawn shop that we bought on eBay, but we didn't notice the sign indicating that there was a restaurant within. While at the pawn shop, we asked the cashier if she had a suggestion of where to eat since we hadn't eaten all day and weren't from the area. She told us there was a good restaurant inside Frog Bones shooting range. I was very skeptical, because who's heard of fine dining anytime a restaurant is inside another business? That would be like expecting great food when dining inside IKEA, I thought. But I checked the reviews on Yelp, and I was led to believe I needed to give it a chance. By my five-star rating, you can see that I had no regrets! If you look through my past reviews, you will see that I don't take giving five stars lightly. There is just nothing that I can say that is negative! We both got burgers. The meat was cooked perfectly, and our tomato slices were beautifully red as if they'd just been picked from the garden. Never do I see such beautiful tomatoes! All of the burger toppings tasted wonderfully fresh, and their potato salad was homemade and delicious. Even their iced tea was strong enough, which is a rare find. Our waitress was stellar and stayed on top of everything, even thinking to bring us extra napkins before we could ask for them. Prices were reasonable, and the decor (minus the TVs) was esthetically pleasing. I am a born-and-bred Southerner with a taste for what we'd call "swamp food." Yes, Double Tapp does have amazing sandwiches, pizza, and ribs, but I'd especially like to compliment--and recommend--the gator tail and frog legs. At Double Tapp, this fare doesn't "just taste like chicken." The way they cook their gator tail and frog legs is something of an art. The gator tail is very lightly fried (more meat than breading, which is rare when one orders and gets gator tail) and you can order the frog legs appetizer like you would chicken wings: in a sauce or a dry rub. I've had the gator tail twice now, the 2nd time with my parents when they were visiting from the other coast and were somewhat skeptical when I told them Double Tapp's gator was the best I'd EVER eaten...but they quickly agreed with me! (I'd never before heard my father repeatedly say how good something was after every 2nd or 3rd bite!) To boot, the gator is served with an incredible onion-glaze dipping sauce that's out of the world! Also, the serving size of the gator has been enough for me to have leftovers to take home. They don't skimp on the meat! My husband, parents, and I shared the frog legs appetizer--which was a huge portion and enough for a meal for one--and we all agreed those frog legs were also the best we'd ever had. There was a lot of meat on each leg and the sauce was incredible. Again, we all love swamp food, and my husband and I have even been to the Frog Leg Festival that takes place annually in Indian River County (just south of Brevard). Double Tapp's frog legs beat the pants off those of the festival (the festival's frog legs are too breaded, spicy, and dry...and you don't even taste the meat). The service is always outstanding, and the atmosphere is very pleasant. We have always been waited on by an amazing young lady named Athena, who is as much a goddess as her name would imply. I have even joked with her that I think she lives at Double Tapp because she is *always* there. Despite she is so busy, she is also always smiling, is always on top of things, and has the best personality. Btw, for anybody concerned, there is a shooting range attached to Double Tapp (which we haven't had the pleasure of trying...yet) and a full-service bar in the restaurant, but they are careful to stamp your hand if you order an alcoholic beverage, just in case a patron wishes to go to the range after a drink or two. They will not let you shoot if you've had alcohol at the restaurant. I hope Double Tapp continues to do well. We love having this local blessing, and we recommend this restaurant to everybody. I have serious doubts that each of the male employees are washing their hands in the kitchen after every bathroom trip. There is no excuse for repairs so cheap and so easy being delayed. My wife and I went to check out the gun range and stopped in for lunch. Greeted pleasantly and seated immediately. Restaurant was bright, well organized, and clean. We were waited on and received drinks quickly. Food came out quickly. My first impression was food was well plated and looked extremely fresh. I got the Cajun Po Boy wrap that came with slaw and fries. Wrap was fresh and really tasty. Slaw was also freshly made and very good. Fries were hot and good. Wife got the Southwest blackened chicken salad. She commented on its freshness and the amount of fresh avocado(which she loves) in it. She demolished it. Had an excellent wine and beer selection as well. I can see us enjoying a nice dinner and drinks after utilizing the range soon. Had my eye on this place for a while and finally took my family there this past Sunday and it was a great experience. For starters the place was incredibly clean. The restaurant was packed so we had some time to look around while waiting for a table to clear. There was plenty to see. After a short 5 minutes a table was ready for us. We found the service to be very attentive (remember the place was packed) and our food was prepared in a short amount of time. Our waitress kept bringing refills without us having to ask and before the glass dried up. I love that! We started with an order of gator tail as an appetizer, we all enjoyed it very much. The dipping sauce was some sort of onion relish and it was delicious. My wife and I each ordered a burger and my kids had pizza and teriyaki wings. The burgers were both cooked exactly the way we ordered them (mine medium rare and my wife's medium) and were accompanied by fresh toppings and perfectly grilled buns. Who doesn't love a grilled bun? The taste of the burgers was phenomenal! My son gave the pizza two thumbs up and my daughter thoroughly enjoyed her wings.
