Saw the reviews that werent so great but thought id try it anyway. Should have trusted the reviews. Im not from the area but when meeting a friend decided to try this play upon leaving watertown. Upon walking in guy was on the phone for around 10 minutes as I waited. Bought 1 sub and cheese sticks. came out to 27+ dollars. The board says all subs are XL subs, yet they are regular size youd find anywhere. Price was 12.99 for a sub, I added Cheese and a few other veggies with oil and vinegar. It costs around a dollar fifty more for cheese. Well upon opening my sub there was zero cheese inside. so money already wasted. The bread was regular white subroll bread fine, but the sub is completely lacking in flavor. The meat tasted strange, says its bore head on the board with their official seal up there but didnt taste like it. tasted like shaws meat. lower quality. oil n vinegar tasteless. worst sub ive had in a long time. Its too expensive, few dollars more and I could have got Jersey mikes Cheese sticks were alright. nothing exciting. I wouldnt call this an Italian restaurant by any stretch of the imagination. Maybe be better attentive to your customers when they walk in. I know the owner likes to respond to ppl on here, You should be ashamed of how bad your sandwiches are. If ppl pay for extra ingredients put them in the sub! After this experience its hard to believe the people making complaints are wrong in any way on here. Never again. Do Better. read more

Average neighborhood pizza/sub shop. Plenty of food options. Chicken broccoli Alfredo was a hit with the kids. We loved the onion rings...good crisp/quantity/batter to onion ratio. Subs are alright...ditto on the pizza. Staff is friendly. Plenty of tables to dine-in on. They also sell pizza by the slice. No parking at all, unless you find some on the side streets. The Main Street is too busy and risky to park on. If they get ahold of your phone number, you WILL get random texts with coupon codes from time to time. I've been a loyal customer for many years, always been happy with the food and delivery, but last night the food was much later than usual and it was not hot. So I emailed the next day and told them about my experience and suggested they offer a coupon to make up for it. Instead, I got the third degree, so I sent photos of the ticket, auto response to the online order and the time of arrival. I was not only told my computer must have been at fault, the owner (it turned out) was dismissive. All I can say is, they must be under new management as the prices have gone way up, they loyalty coupons have disappeared and the delivery fees are $5.00, making it $20 for a sub. I'm not sure if there are new cooks or owners but I've ordered cheese pizza very simple I get crust with a good amount of cheese which is awesome but you lift up the cheese and all that's underneath it is crust you couldn't scrape off a tablespoon or a teaspoon of sauce from this one large slice. We got two large pizzas (my kids enjoyed them) and wings (which were really good). The show stopper for us was the gluten free pizza. I have tried LOTS of gluten free pizzas, and the crust was delicious and by far the best I've had in the area. While the crust was on the thin side (as gluten free crusts tend to be), it had fantastic flavor and was crispy and soft. Gerry's will be my new go to for GF pizza! read more

Called Marsalas Italian kitchen tonight in Waltham for my fave pasta dish offered by them, the "chicken abruzzo style pasta dish".. always stellar service , quality, taste from their food.. portions etc over in Waltham . The Guy who answered phone told me to call Gerry's Italian kitchen cuz Marsalas is no more.. so called & ordered the dish & below is what I received... chicken is minimal , cold & hard.. biggest fail is there's almost no sauce here (supposed to be a pink tomato/cream sauce) .. so dry.. even veggies were scarce.. upset/disappointed is an understatement .. Bring back Marsalas or at very least have the chef/cook from over there go show Gerry's place how to make it properly cuz this is no where near the great dish Marsalas consistently put out..! They constantly get orders wrong and the food is just awful and awfully expensive for sub-par food. You hear staff frequently talking about complaining customers--they should be listening and correcting! Last straw tonight--ordered a pizza and salad--$30!! I have only ever had delivery from Gerry's, so this review is only to discuss the food. Pizza: Full disclosure, I'm a New Yorker, so I'm never going to be fully satisfied with pizza from anywhere but home. Comparing it to pizza places in the Boston Area, I think its about average. It doesn't have any wow factor, but its decent. Pasta dishes: I've had a few pasta dishes from them (chicken Alfredo, baked ziti, penne Al Vodka). Like the pizza, its okay. I think they do pizza much better than their pasta dishes. The last dish I got from them (Alfredo) was drenched in sauce and quite grease. It tasted alright, but probably because I was very hungry. Cannoli: I wonder if its homemade or store bought. I say this because while they tasted fine, they didn't taste fresh. For the price, I won't a fresh cannoli. But they tasted alright. Overall impression of the food: If its the closest pizza place to me (or other pizza places are surging on Uber Eats) I'll order a pie. For pasta dishes I'm going to elsewhere. This is based on their steak tip dinner...all other food has been great. Steak tips, WHAT A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!! When you order tips, one would expect chunks of meat but not here....instead, it looks like the end result of cutting a childs steak so they can eat. I would give zero if I could. We called ahead and picked up a sub It was terrible but that's not the point. When we got our credit card statement we noticed that they charged us twice , exact same amount but different date ( I had never ordered from them before. We don't live nearby. Happened to be in the area ) we called them and the immediate response was "oh okay just come back and we will give you another sub or we will give you cash ". It sounded so suspicious, as if this wasn't the first time this happened. Come to find out same thing happened to friend of mine when she ordered form Gerry's. Nice enough guys, they just aren't making the food properly. Ordered here a few ones and am always disappointed. BLT sub? Filled with chopped bacon (basically bacon bits). Chicken fingers? Homemade but done with the egg/bread crumb breading and they didn't give me any dipping sauce so I just had to use ketchup. I'm sorry chicken fingers are fried chicken if you insist on making them in house make them right with buttermilk and flour. Fries were awful, like the lowest grade of frozen fries you can get. If you're doing frozen fries rather than fresh cut you need to get the breaded ones not these limp tasteless bits. Everything was also very oily, I think their fried is set to loo low a temperature. Pizza is doughy. Salads are very meh. In fairness though my girlfriend, who hates everything, got their chicken soup and said it was very good. read more

I don't know how a business can be run with same ongoing patterns (orders don't arrive, calls are dropped, no one knows what's going on). Food was estimated to be delivered between 30-55 minutes. When it was well pass the window for delivery, I called and they said 10 min (we live less than 5 min). Called again 20 minutes later, same story.
