Shrimp Scampi was great, the burger was tasty and filling but the chicken parm was too thin and dry, which last time we had that it was great.. the desserts wetter good too! Recently had a lovely lunch on the patio. Food was good and service was terrific. Enjoyed seeing folks out golfing.

Dined at Vera Roma recently with the wife, we were both 1st Timers. We started off with the zucchini appetizer. The dish came with some kind of red dipping sauce, it was quite spicy, borderline overwhelming. I think a ranch type dressing for dipping would have went better with this appetizer, just my opinion. For our meals, I had the veal parmesan and my wife had the chicken parmesan. Food was decent, my biggest complaint was the portion size though, it was lacking a bit. We also had a cannoli for dessert, it was tasty, we both liked it. Service was excellent, our server was very friendly and attentive. My wife also enjoyed her chocolate martini from the bar. Since Vera Roma is not too far from us, we'd give them a 2nd go, I'm thinking the lunch menu. Will write an update if that happens. read more

Very good food overall. My wife had the veal piccata and I had the Chicken Alla Vodka. Both were made pretty well. The restaurant itself is very clean and looks great inside. The service was good. The only thing I wish is that there were a few more menu offerings with the pasta dishes. We will definitely be back. read more

Greeted by owner and seated at a table in front of window. My meal was perfect. A cup of chicken vegetable soup to warm us on a cool fall day. Amazing rice and stuffed shrimp , stuffed with crab meat. Desert was the best chocolate mousse cake ever all on a price fix menu. The grill room was cozy and lit with white twinkling lights. My First time here so walking in was very welcoming, the gentlemen brought us to our table and flipped the glasses to fill our cups with freezing cold water which I loved. I ordered a expresso-tinni with Baileys, which wasn't too over powering. We had a large crowd with us and the server's were very polite and up beat, the food was very good. We started with a appetizer zucchini chips with ranch dressing on the side so delicious, then everyone ordered a different dish and we were all pleased and happy. What I for got to take a picture of was the desserts, so this is how we ranked them.. 1. Carrot Cake so delicious 2. Tiramisu Cake 3. Canolli 4. Chocolate Mousse Cake 5. Key Lime We put the key lime last because the person who ordered it didn't want to share lol they gobbled it up before anyone could try it. Love supporting new businesses in town and I finally got to check out Vera Roma. We went for an earlier dinner on a Sunday and it was quiet. Our server was friendly and the food was delicious. We ordered the calamari ( I really enjoyed the sauce), and for dinner we got the chicken alla vodka which was delicious.. your typical vodka sauces and my bf got the salmon twitch risotto- also very tasty. The dishes we ordered tasted good but the portions were very small. We order the stuffed mushrooms and the order came with 6 very small stuffed mushrooms. We each then ordered the larger version of a Caesar salad and added protein. I added shrimp and it came with just 4 smaller sized shrimp. Ordered a Roma grinder plus other items, honestly I don't know what happened. The restaurant wasn't busy so no way the kitchen was overwhelmed. The Roma grinder was supposed to have prosciutto soppresata provolone as well as other items. what I received was a thick ham steak style meat which was choped into strips wedged amongst a piece of salami a tomatoe lettuce and American cheese. With Walmart crinkle fries. Not anything like the menu advertised. 16$ Fried cauliflower wasn't seasoned at all tasted like fryer oil and wet flour. Honey sauce was no honey and pure red-hot. 0 effort Fried zucchini was equally horrible tasting like wet flour and oil no seasoning no nothing. The chicken parm with angel hair , received a quarter cup of pasta cooked and a thin cutlet with more breading than meat. 23$ Sadly I expected effort and quality .. total spent 90$ ended up throwing the food out and ordering elsewhere. Please ownership if you want to keep your doors open at least give the customer what they pay for. read more

My husband and I with friends had dinner there last week. I ordered the baked stuffed shrimp - said extra large shrimp - they were maybe medium with stuffing and hard as a rock . They made me think they were originally frozen for a food service source. They were terrible. Also I was suppose to get risotto with mushrooms and garlic. None - The key lime pie was a very very small piece. The shrimp dinner alone was $28.00, the pie$8. This was our third time there - The first time the chicken dish was very good, the 2nd time I had veal which was a square piece of veal and very tough, again Frozen? I cannot believe they received 4 1/2 stars. There were only 5 tables seated on a Friday night. We will not go back read more

I really wanted to love this place. It is close to my house so I was excited. The meatball app was tasteless. A ball of ground meat with tomato, so sad. Their salads were good. Drinks were basic - nothing special or worth coming back for. I had to add a star. I have now dined here several times for lunch and last evening for dinner. The evening was beautiful and the new patio is terrific overlooking the golf course. While dining, we watched deer on on golf course oblivious to the golfers! I chose a swordfish special last night that was served with risotto and a lobster bisque-ish sauce. My companion had a menu item, the Cod with a lemony-sauce served with risotto an spinach We were both, very, very happy. In my initial review, I did not think they seemed inventive. WRONG. It's great to see a kitchen not afraid to mix it up a bit. Did I need dessert? No. Did I order anyway. Yes. Two mini cannoli were the perfect little ending and a nice share for the two of us. Consistency is everything, and they have been consistently good in every way. The food is fresh, flavorful and beautifully presented. The service is professional and friendly. You feel welcomed from the moment you walk in the door, pampered while you are at the table, and thanked and invited back as you walk out the door. Torrington is a town with very few good choices. This new restaurant in town is doing a great job. I have ordered to go dinners and have had appetizers and drinks at the restaurant. The owner and his son are hands on and very accommodating. The owner's son is very polite and attentive as well. I have had the salmon, calamari, a roastbeef sandwich and crabcakes. All were delicious. The service is quick. I hosted a 25th Wedding Anniversary over the Labor Day weekend at Vera Roma in Torrington, Ct. at Eastwood Country Club. This restaurant is amazing. The buffet meal for my guests was the best i had in a long time. My guests were so impressed with the meal that i received so many compliments after the party. The staff was so friendly and food was delicious. My hat goes off to the chef who prepared our meal. The fried calamari, seafood stuffed mushrooms , chicken parmesan , baked cod, roasted parmesan broccoli, mixed veggies and steak were cooked to perfection. To top off the dinner we had their cannoli Italian pastries. I also had Cakes Unlimited in Burlington,Ct make the Anniversary cake and Cupcakes for the party. Jennifer did an amazing job with the cake and everyone especially enjoyed her cupcakes. Visited 9/16/22 with my wife and two other women. Had a great meal! Why did it take us so long to hear about this new ownership??? We live in town and I golf at adjacent Eastwood golf coarse. Didn't get the memo or heard any advertising. Being a vegetarian, I had the butternut squash ravioli which was outstanding. Ladies had Chicken Frances and Chicken Piccata. Both meals were good. All meals were generous size and fairly priced. Only small negative was wives Cosmo drink was not to her liking. Maybe hiring a dedicated professional Bartender is in order. Our Waitress was professional and personable. Overall it was a great dining experience which I would recommend and definitely visit again. read more
