I really love their pizza. They have interesting pizza's that work. It's not too much or too little. It's delicious! The Caesar salad is not your typical Caesar. Jesu Christe, ordered 3 pies in advance for delivery in the early evening. The driver obviously dropped the bag and all the pizzas were ruined. They looked strange when the driver handed them to me and I should have made them open them on the spot. They remade the pies and the top of the box on a $30 pizza was still pressed down into the cheese which was stuck to the top of the box. The driver said there was nothing they can do about that. BS, I drove pizza for years. You don't jam two small pizzas on top of a 16" in the same bag especially when the are piping hot out of the oven for a reorder being rushed out the door. No refund and more importantly, absolutely no apology from anyone at any point on the phone or by the driver. read more

I normally always order pizza from this location, but unfortunately today it appears some of the cornmeal used to move the pizzas in out of the oven, ended up burnt and on top of my pizza, leaving crunchy black dots that taste like soot. You can see the burned cornmeal in the pizza box as well. It looks like they didn't sweep the old burnt cornmeal out of the oven appropriately. I have to say, normathey do a good job with pizza I'm just disappointed this time that mine ended up a little janky. read more

Pizza was quite good! We ordered a Large Pepperoni Pizza with mushrooms on only half of the pizza and they made it without any issues. The Caesar Salad was good, too, but it was a bit too garlicky. To be fair, they have a disclaimer about this on the menu so it wasn't a surprise but I thought it was worth mentioning in review for the readers and the curious folk. The customer service was great! We forgot to order a side of ranch (which they charge for) so when we asked for it, they gave it to us for free. And, this has nothing to do with food but the restroom was very clean! I've spent a lifetime in search of the best pizza in the whole wide world. From that perspective, the pizza here doesn't even get an honorable mention. It's "ok", assuming that your definition of ok is that the pizza isn't downright awful. But best ever? Not even close. I don't know that I'll ever find the world's best pizza in the PNW although there are a couple of joints where their pizza is certainly in the running. Unfortunately, most people from Portland have no idea what a good pizza (or a good donut) is supposed to taste like. There are a few exceptions here on Yelp though. I know some Yelpers who are even fussier about coffee than I am, and that's really saying something. So my criteria: I measure the pizza quality very differently for pizzas that cost less than $20. $20-$30 it better be a ripping good pizza. Over $30 you have a nerve charging that much if the pizza doesn't knock your socks off. The pizza I had should have cost ~ $12. I always order the meat lovers (or equivalent) pizza. This place doesn't even have one unless you consider their stingy malto carne an all meat pizza. Pizza Huts deep dish all meat pizza is my baseline of acceptability. Not as good a PH and I'll trash it in the reviews. Better than PH and now you're getting some where. The pizza here failed to meet my minimum baseline of acceptability. Taste was ok although the sauce was uninspired. The sauce and MOUNDS of toppings are what makes a great pizza great, guys. This was a few toppings sprinkled over warm cardboard. For $30 you could heap the toppings on and not just sprinkle them. Staff was fine I guess, what little interaction I had with them. Personally, I like to look in the window and see some fat old Italian guy spinning the dough but that's just me. This place is more of a factory where the pizza is [barely] one step above what you'd find in the frozen food aisle in a grocery store. I probably should have had the pastrami sangwich. Papa Johns and Dominos has nothing to fear from these guys. read more

Best pizza I've had in Portland. I'm an Amazon driver so always on the go. Stopped in here today, grabbed a few slices... affordable 7.50$ These ingredients are FRESH! Puts all other pizzas to shame. So many great flavor combinations here.... I loved the puttanesca, the basil, olives and sauce were incredible it felt like I was in Italy! Fresca had some delicious cherry tomatoes The subtle crunch as you bite into it... I'm salivating just thinking about it. Pizzicato has been around since 1989, and for good reason. I don't think I'd go anywhere else next time I crave pizza. read more

It's a nice little pizza place in the Forest Heights community. I had been to other Pizzicato locations, all of which have been much larger than this one. There is nice out door seating at this one in a quiet neighborhood however. They also a selection of wine and beer available. The pizza I ordered came out really fast and also piping hot. The cashier was super friendly and the server was very friendly to people who came with dogs, offering them a bowl of water on the hot day I went. The lunch specials are a pretty good deal. Beware the outdoor seating around mid day. When the local elementary school lets out, a large influx of children flood the starbucks and surrounding outdoor area so if you are looking for a peaceful place to eat, you might want to consider doing it inside. read more

This is tops on my list for pizza and believe it or not there salads are amazing!!! My favorite is the pear salad with candied walnuts with a pepperoni pizza!!! Every pizza I have had is fantastic! We love Pizzicato and order at least 2 - 3 times per month. Last night however, we had a bad experience with delivery. I called at 4:20 to order a pizza. My kids had sports and we had to leave by 6:20 for those (and hopefully get everyone fed well ahead of that). The guy told me one hour. Pizza didn't arrive until 6:20, so double what was stated. Just caused a major glitch in our evening. I'm fine with skipping and I get that there are delays, but we've never even been close to two hours. Would have been great to have known that when we called. I would have gone to pick up. Good pizza but not very generous when adding toppings. Even if you ask for an extra layer of a different topping, you don't wouldn't be satisfied. Less cheese and you don't feel extra full with the order which is a good thing for me. I would go again as this is my favorite pizza place and also really close to my home. The staff, especially the manager, is unfriendly and makes smart aleck comments to customers, which is very unprofessional. Pizzicato is a pretty reliable pizza chain in PDX. I've eaten at a number of them and it's usually pretty satisfactory. We happened to be up in this neighb for reasons Craigslistian and needed a quick, cheap bite. Now, this particular location is in an upper-scale stripmally center. It is located in the end unit of one of the buildings. They must do a lot of delivery or takeout as it really is not designed for sitdown dining. There is a grand total of 1 table, in the corner, right next to the one garbage receptacle. The rest of the seating is bar-type against the window. They don't have much storage either as there have their soda mixes lining the hallway to the restroom. There is some outside seating as well, but it was 90+ when we came and that kind of heat aint a friend of THIS. There is a moderate selection of slices to choose from. I think there were 6 pies total on our visit. Wife had an intriguing sauceless monthly special which featured heirloom tomatoes and balsamic vinegar. It was passable. I didn't get moon-eyed over any of the rest so I stuck with pep. The slices, while good, were smaller than what I've had at other Pizzicato's. Not by much but you notice these things when you're paying $3.25 for each slice. I'm thinking they were elementary school cafeteria size. They tasted good, although it seems like about 1/3 of the slice is crust. Good thing I like their crust! But I'd rather have more sauce/cheese/topping/crust than solo crust. They served up a big glass of wine for $5. Like one of their mini-tumblers. So that's a bonus. The self-serve water is uniced and unrefrigerated. I try to have water as much as I can when I eat out so not having cold water is a downer, especially on a hot day like it was. Service was adequate; no complaints there. I'm mainly writing this for folks who are expecting a full-size Pizzicato in this location. It's really not designed to accomodate parties of even moderate size. But, when we needed something cheap, quick and convenient, it did the trick. read more

Real small location tucked in the hill. We got hungry after house hunting, and this place came up when cruising down the hill. I've been in other several locations, so I knew it was going to be good. And it was. The service is great, they had a nice selection of pizzas for being Sunday late afternoon. I like this Pizzicato in particular because it's located in my neighborhood and in the neighborhood "village". It's convenient, fast, and staff is friendly. I also really like their pizza, although not the prices so much, but I'm willing to fork over a couple of extra dollars for the saved time and drive elsewhere. I also like that they have gluten-free options, although I haven't tried a whole pizza because of the price. This is a nice little neighborhood Pizzicato that we've been going to for years. The location and parking are so convenient, and they have decent food with a nice variety of choices between pizza, salad and sandwiches. Until recently, the service was friendly and warm. Lately, however, the service has gotten kind of snarky. What really makes me not want to return is the cook who sports a long beard without a net. The thought of all that facial hair dangling over the food as it's being prepped is completely unappetizing and potentially unsanitary. read more

This is my favorite pizzicato! The Puttanesca pizza is my favorite! It's a veggie pizza for the vegetarians out there! The Caesar salad dressing is one of my favorites, but make sure you have gum to chew on after (there's lots of garlic)!
