Today I convinced myself to go out of my comfort zone and try PJ Hotpot! I went with a group of 7 people who all had varying levels of adventurous food eating. I can confirm that we all had a good experience. Our server Ray was very helpful as most of us had never been to a restaurant like this before. He guided us through both the hotpot and Korean barbecue. Ray picked out some amazing food for us to try. I particularly like the Ramen and Pho noodles as well as the steak. I picked out the Japanese Miso soup base and it was tasty as well. If you aren't feeling bold enough to try the hotpot and/or barbecue, they have french fries and chicken nuggets by the appetizers. My go-to for Korean bbq. Took my family there for my wife's birthday. $31.99 each for AYCE bbq. We ordered about 18 dishes of meats and vegetables (6 orders x 3 rounds). Really enjoyed the selection choices. Sodas were $3 each and we got a lychee tea for $6. A great night of eating. Our waitress was great and she brought our orders quickly. All you can eat hot pot and Korean BBQ for $30/person! They do have a limit of 2 hrs. They have great meat selections, we particularly enjoyed the short ribs, steak and spicy bulgogi. The spicy fish fillet was great too. Wide array of sauce suggestions and condiments to choose from and deserts included as well. They even have an ice cream freezer. There's plenty of seating even for large parties. I would've given it a 5* however there was a large party when we dined and our server only came back to give us the check when we're done. Had such a fun time at PJ Hot Pot. They offer unlimited hot pot and Korean bbq and you can even do both! The unlimited hot pot had so many options for soup and toppings. I tried the Szechuan spicy and curry soups which were both on the milder side. The spicy level was a lot lower than expected but you can also add sauces to it separately if it's too mild. You can order whichever toppings you want from the server. Then either a human or robot server brings your order to your table! Service was very quick and the robot has a cat face which was very cute. Drinks like boba, tea, and soda, are charged separately and the tea drink we tried was sadly a bit watery. The veggies, meats, and seafood were fresh! I especially enjoyed proteins like the sliced ribeye, sliced lamb, fish roe balls, and bean curd, along with veggies such as the crown daisy, taro, lotus root, and enoki mushrooms. They even offered specialty items like beef aorta, which had a tough, very chewy texture They also had a sauce and side dish bar with pickled cucumber, kimchi, and radish. The side dishes were standard but I enjoyed all the variety of options to make sauces! For dessert they have fruits like oranges, melon, pineapple, and little ice cream cups. New hotpot place in town. I loved dining here. They have tons of options in meat and veggies for the hotpot and bbq. It's a good place for vegetarian as they have protein options like tofu. You could select either hotpot or the bbq or both for an additional $5 per person. You get your individual pot for the hotpot, which is great. Pretty darn good, and a bargain, especially at lunch. It's the same setup as K-Pot. Grill and hotpots at table, they bring your meat and veggies. Lots to choose from, and the meat seemed slightly better quality than K-Pot. (Only veggies we had were pickled ones from the sauce bar.) We had lunch, $20 for all you can eat. $30 I think at dinner, and they did have some interesting items (tongue, short ribs, etc.) $5 more if you want both hot pot and grill. Service was excellent, start to finish. Our server was on top of things, and helpful, and occasionally other people would bring meat or help clear. Ask for an extra set of tongs to make sure you can do one raw, one cooked at least. They brought two but we both used those first ones for raw stuff. We also used forks to keep things separated, since we ate with chopsticks. The sauce bar is a bit skimpy compared to K-Pot, with just the basics. The "salad bar" includes good but not spicy kimchi, and pickled cukes, radishes, etc., none spicy. Some desserts that we passed on. We tried everything they offer at lunch (again, just meats,) and our faves were the spicy bulgogi, garlic shrimp, and garlic pork belly. Also very good calamari. The brisket was thin, and ended up like a Steak-um. Good but plain. And everything marked spicy was really not, so if you don't like heat, you'll probably be fine. If you do, get some chili oil from the sauce bar. Their house sauce was pretty good, and I liked the fermented tofu one. Not a fan of the sesame, didn't really go with anything. They swap out the grill often, and bring drinks, etc., when you need them. They got a big party (100) soon after we came- from the tour bus outside apparently the Shen Yun cast! Still kept up on our service. We came right at noon on Monday so they were not busy, except for that group. Really liked it except for the sparse sauces and lack of spice. Booth was also pretty tight for two big old guys with bad knees. But all in all a very good experience, pretty much tied with K-Pot, and I would come back. A warm fuzzy experience awaits at PJ's. I felt like I was welcomed back home when I walked in. Happy, smiling faces greeting me as if to say where have you been. This on my fourth visit, ever? Then, not just a suggestion, but a wall of warmth totally engulfs and blankets me introducing the smells of spice and sizzling meat. It's so daunting I can even hear it. The presentations are remarkable. Each dish plated in a unique manner that makes it impossible to disturb them. Ahhhh, but the smell wins over and in I dive. Everything melts in my mouth and I slow down to savor the experience. But I can't. Bite after bite I chew and chew as I devour this incredible delight... I then realize I left Mrs. E. My first visit to PJ Hotpot was a good experience and one that warrants a return trip! We came for dinner on Tuesday night and there was no wait. There are many tables and the restaurant felt spacious and hip with good lighting. After being seated, a waiter offered us drinks and we put in our order soon after. When I was torn between the Healthy Herbs and the Mushroom broths, the waiter offered to bring me a sample of each to try. The mushroom broth was deliciously complex and savory, so I chose that. My partner got the Sichuan broth and was very pleased with the flavor and spice level. Service was quick and mostly right. We only had one item mix-up when Napa cabbage came out instead of bok choy. Food was delivered by a robot cat waiter, which is a fun novelty, but if there is a mistake, there's no one to tell. However, every ingredient order we placed was delivered to our table quite fast. We were pleased with the quality of the meats, lobster balls, seafood, and dumplings. The vegetables were clean and fresh. The food quality gets two thumbs up from me. Lastly, the sauce bar was well stocked. They had signs for suggested flavor combinations, which I can see being helpful for first timers. In addition to sauces, there was kimchi, pickled vegetables, and edamame available. If you had room after the AYCE hot pot, there were fruits, cakes, and ice cream included on or near the sauce bar, too. I've visited some other hot pot restaurants in Columbus and this is the best so far. The vibe was better, the wait staff was less intense, and the place was cleaner. Easy 5 star fun dinner experience. We went for a date night last night and got the barbecue and hot pot. I got the curry base and hubs got the vine pepper. The server did a nice job explaining the menu and giving some suggestions. She checked back regularly and I didn't feel like we went without the whole meal. We got the pork bulgogi, beef bulgogi, brisket, and spicy pork and beef. Lots of veggies for the hot pot and bbq. The buffet area has a lot of sauces and seasonings and a few small starters and desserts. The perfect bite for me was rice, beef bulgogi, onions with yum yum. We love this hot pot place! We came on a Sunday night and there was no wait. We really enjoyed the wide variety of options for a YCE Hotpot and Korean barbecue. The sauce bar was well stocked. We thought that the meat and seafood were good quality. Things came out very quickly. The only thing is their portions are a little small so make sure to order a few plates at a time. Dropped in for their Soft Opening for Lunch (614now article hinted they just opened this week) Almost identical experience to K Pot on Bethel with a few additions (shrimp & crawfish available for lunch, few more selections for sides and desserts). The ordering system is the same, although they seem to be experimenting with the ordering robots that Hiro Ramen has- one of our orders arrived by robot. Food was pretty high quality, nothing arrived directly frozen and everything was pretty fresh. Only knock compared to K Pot was perhaps the soups which were a bit less flavorful here. Pretty certain they're still constructing and preparing for their full opening, saw/heard some angle grinder sparks on the other side of the restaurant which was interesting. Overall very great value and service. The interior reminds of some high end Chinese restaurants and the our waitress was super friendly. Even the cleaning staff were super friendly too - came by our table to make sure we get to grab fruit and dessert before they closed for the day. Food is mostly fresh and good quality. We tried both bbq and hotpot and were happy with them. I do wish the marinade meat can taste more like Korean flavor, but still very impressed overall. Tried it for my son's 13th birthday and we really liked the whole experience. We drove from 2.5 hrs away to shop and eat here. We had fun trying new things and our server was very nice and helpful. They sang to my son for his birthday and gave us a little Keychain as a gift which he really liked. We loved the cat robot servers. The miso broth and beef bulgogi were really good. If you do get the hotpot just be aware of what base you get cause of course the meat is not season so if you get something light like miso and cook in it there will be no flavor on what you put in it. I had an incredible experience at PJ Hotpot. They offer "all you can eat" hotpot and/or Korean BBQ. We chose to both do Hotpot only (it costs $5 more per person to do Hotpot and BBQ). This was my first time doing hotpot at a restaurant though I've had it many times at the home of my Asian In-laws and I had a fantastic evening trying all the meats and dumplings. The table has its own little burners to keep the broth piping hot. I chose Tom Yum - a spicy, lemony broth and my son chose Miso. Then you select from a variety of raw meats and vegetables that you cook in individual portions in your hot broth. I loved the ribeye, peeled shrimp, shrimp dumplings, and pork belly. I also had enoki mushrooms, bok choy, and green leaf lettuce. We even tried crab. It wasn't my favorite but definitely fun to watch the shells turn from blue to bright red. There is also a sauce bar in the back to make your own dipping sauce. The house sauce was too sweet for me but I made my own sauce with soy, hoisin, and hot oil. So good! Our server was amazing. He answered all our questions and helped us with our meat selections. He called us family and was truly engaging and kind. He is assisted by a robot that brings over the food so there is no shortage of attention. The eating area is huge. You could probably feed a few bus loads of people in there but it was clean and comfortable. If this place were in Bridge Park it would be filled to the gills but in its unassuming location by Target on Sawmill I couldn't imagine it ever getting busy. It looks like they are attempting to get a liquor license and if they do this place will lack for nothing. Did I say that dessert choices are included in the meal? Well they are. I had ice cream, and sesame balls. My son tried the pudding and some sort of cake. There was also fruit and even an offer of chicken fingers and fries. While I didn't try them I think it is nice to have an option for picky kids or even super picky adults. It is a little more expensive than I like to do for a regular dinner but for a once a month treat I think it would be worth it. The food was delicious and the service was amazing. Terrible service. Will never go back We made reservations for 7 people to sit at 1 table for a party. Confirmed over the phone 3 times and when we got to restaurant, they did not have a table for us. They gave it away to another party. They wanted to sit us at 2 different tables. I find that unacceptable. The manager Mike was clueless He apologized but did not offer an explanation for what happened. There are at least 2 other similar restaurants in this area. I will never go back to PJ Hot pot since I have a choice. I will vote with my money and never patronize this place. I also encourage others to avoid this restaurant because of the service experience and management not taking responsibility. i will also let everyone know about this terrible customer service experience. read more

Large open space for a comfortable dinning experience. For hot pot restaurants this helps to avoid being stuffy from the burners. Very little wait and food quality is decent with a reasonable selection of meat, vegetables and soups to choose from. I enjoy coming here to avoid the crowds and enjoy conversation with friends and not feel like I need to fight in terms of volume with the table next to us. It's worth giving them a try. read more

What a pleasant surprise to walk into such a well-appointed, attractive restaurant in an unassuming strip center. The service was excellent. Hailey guided us through the choices and even custom- prepared a glass of black tea on ice. Korean bbq items were tasty: spicy beef bulgogi, spicy salmon and fish, short ribs and pork belly, plus onion, mushrooms and, of course, rice. Sauce bar had a good variety you can mix to your liking. The restaurant just opened back in Jan 28. I came with 12 family members with me to try their hotpot and Korean Bbq for extra $5 per person. We came on a holiday so it's dinner price all day. The service was excellent. Jessica handled both tables with no problems. The wait staffs even sang happy birthday to my cousin celebrating her 55th bday. I expected good and fresh food for the price. Sure enough the whole family enjoyed the appetizers up to the free desserts that comes with the price will all their sauces. Such a great experience for the whole family. Are we going to go back? All you can eat! Went for dinner with a party of 9. They ended up sitting us in 2 booths parallel to each other. One bigger booth accommodates 6 with individual hotpot burners. Single BBQ grill situated towards the open end of the table. Add $5 per person if doing both hotpot and BBQ. I was surprised that they were not that busy compared to the KPot opening. I had a more enjoyable experience at PJ. They had a few different items compared to KPot...crawfish, octopus. The sauce bar is a good size with your standard sauces. Really enjoyed the chopped red and green chilies. Gave my sauce concoction just the right amount of spice. My kids were thrilled that they had individual cups of ice cream for dessert. Service was good. Never had to wait long for food. Used plates were cleared. The robot is a neat touch. It would drop off more food. My new go-to KBBQ joint. read more

This visit I wasn't too happy about. The rice was cold the server literally came out table like 3 times. Didn't change out the grill and mind you we had both hot pot and barbecue. The beef brisket cut was bad edges was really dark brown and the sever made some excuse about the meat. That I didn't like and on top of that o asked for more and didn't receive it. Amazing service from waitstaff. The restaurant has a clean and pretty ambiance. The sauce & dessert station were fully stocked and lots of fun, and the options for hotpot meats, veggies, and broths were great.
