Credit to them that they fried them up hot and fresh to order, these things don't sit around dying under a heat lamp or anything like that, you're getting a quality donut. I did really like the iced cafe au lait, the coffee is really good. I would recommend trying it yourself and forming your own opinion. Me personally I think I like donuts better than beignets, maybe because I'm approaching them with the mentality of a donut and how you can get different styles and flavors and whatnot. I almost think I'd enjoy these more if they had a glaze I could dip them in, or a fruit jelly or jam or something similar. I understand there are beignet shops that do that but I wanted to try the original based on its history. The coffee however is the star of the show. Better than Starbucks, Dunkin, Tim Horton's, 7 Brew, or any of those chain coffee places. I'd come here for the coffee if nothing else.

The best part of this place is making your own coffee your own, and there are quite a lot of sugar free options too. I loved the pumpkin spice varieties and anything with Irish cream was so good.
