I used to love this place UNTIL tonight. We always call about 8:30 or 8:45 to order takeout and it's always ready and picked up before they close at 9. Well tonight I called to place out order at 8:40 and the employee tells me that they are closed. I told him they didn't close for another 20 minutes. And then stated he decided to close early because it was slow. I would've understood that but there were an excessive amount of people talking in the background. I am a sushi fan, anyway. I've been to maybe every sushi place near my home so I know what's out there. I have been to some really good and some that I wonder how they stay in business. So disappointed with PK SUSHI! We use to love coming here but yesterday's experience was just awful!!! Don't get me wrong I understand how this COVID is affecting businesses I get it but that is no excuse for poor customer service ever! The excuse I was told was that we have new employees!!! sorry that an excuse! When in the restaurant business and training new employees the first thing you do is teach them to acknowledge your customers and ask if they would like something to drink to start! This was not the case we waited and waited and waited watching servers walk to tables on each side of us and not one of them even said we will be right with you or have you got drinks yet takes 30 seconds to make customers feel they are important. 20 minutes to drive to this establishment to get poor service and then the manager got an attitude cause we were supposed to be patient waiting and should understand that they just opened and there was no way I waited 15 mins! then said why I didn't go talk to her excuse me!!! I am extremely disappointed with their customer service and food. For the past few months I have been ordering Rocklin 1 from this restaurant and it was great until last night. They gave me the wrong order and by the time I realized this, the restaurant had closed for the night. I was ok with this issue since mistakes can happen to anyone so I went to talk to them to get a refund. But the manager at the restaurant was extremely rude and horrible. She did not let me explain what my issue was and said that I shouldn't order from there anymore. She said that she will not accept any orders from me and essentially banned me from the restaurant. Let me start by saying, PK Sushi use to be really good, but today was SO bad. We got three rolls, the rice was hard, the fish wasn't fresh, and the ginger wasn't fresh and was warm. I kind of knew it when I walked in to pick up our order and the restaurant smelled very bad (too fishy, because fish isn't fresh). My qualifications: I started eating Sushi in Sacramento area when Mikuni is just a hole in the wall place in Rancho Cordova and on the verge of closing down. I had sushi as authentic as in an ally in Japan suburb neiborhood and also as awkward as in Japan Town in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I think I ate enough sushi to give a fair review. Here it goes: Summary: All you can eat sushi, sashimi specialty dishes, and other Japanese cuisine dishes for a flat price. After seeing $45 price tag for seafood buffet at Rio Casino in Las Vegas, this is like fine dining at McDonald budget. I can't not believe everything on the menu are actually all you can eat and the quality of the dishes are the result of careful craftsmanship of the chefs there. If they are not super busy, some chef will actually create specialty dishes for you to try out. The server staff was so attending to detail that they took care of our 3 years old as well as us while we dined in peace. Must try: Agadashi Tofu, the sauce is out of this world. Pepper Fin, my personal favorite. Poke Salad is a delight. I live in Elk Grove so it is a bit drive for me, but the food is definitely worth the drive. After trying this place I would cringe if I had to pay 3x 4x the price at Mikuni for the same food. Note to some of the hater reviewers here: You know who you are, the ones who did not review the food but reviewed the building real-estate history and give them 1 star for not being here long enough or some off the world reason. Only decided to try out this place because of the $10 off coupon on Yelp and because my boyfriend can devour a large amount of sushi at one sitting. I thought I was in for a great meal due to the awesome yelp reviews but BOY WAS I WRONG!!! First- it is about $25 a person for all you can eat and a drink. Most definitely overpriced for an all you can eat sushi joint. Yes, it is made to order but that is not that uncommon and the price you pay is not worth it. Second- WHATS WITH ALL THE RULES? I felt so constraint during my meal here and it made it ultra uncomfortable and not enjoyable .The only rule that made sense was a charge to excessive waste of fool. Next, You can only order ONE plate at a time- which makes you feel like you have to finish every drop of the plate to be able to order a second plate. Hm Question- what if you don't like something your order?? Well, that's what happened to me and the waitress just looked at me like that was impossible and said " ok.......... its fine. you can order something else" It almost felt like a lecture. Also, if you are watching your carbs then this is not the place for you. You can't order your sushi with less rice and one of the rules mandates you to finish all of the rice that comes on the roll or else they will charge you. Overall, Meh quality sushi. If you think this is good/fresh quality sushi then you have to go try sushi in the Bay Area because you have been missing out! Awful business, I will never eat here again. The rolls with hot ingredients were cold, and sub-par, and a lot of the fish was tasteless....... but that wasnt the bad part. The place closed at 9:30, and I saw two men walk in at 8:07 and ask for all you can eat, and the hostess told them that she wouldnt serve them, because it was past 8pm! Wow, 7 minutes? The whole restaurant was still open for another hour plus. The guys calmly explained that they drove from far away, and the hostess STILL TURNED THEM AWAY! over 7 minutes! It gets better though.... Maybe 20 minutes go by, and an asian family came in for all you can eat and guess what?! They seated them all and served them! I was so offended that I stopped eating and left the restaurant. I, for one, couldn't believe they'd turn customers away over 7 minutes, but I was even more shocked that the same hostess let more people in for the same meal she just turned others away for. I would have given this place 5 stars a few months ago but they have canceled their all you can eat, made to order deal. That was really the big thing that set PK apart from the other sushi places in town. Now it suffers from blending in with the hundred other sushi locations throughout the Roseville-rocklin area. We were looking to have sushi and tossed around some ideas and we were both very hungry so I suggested PK and looked it up on Yelp, like any smart person would do, and get this, a solid 5 stars with decent reviews. So we went. and we ordered the following, all of which was delicious: BBQ White Tuna, outstanding Sea Steak, outstanding Oh, Yes, Very good Pepper Fin, very good James, very good Unagi, as expected Spider, awesome T.N.T., if you don't like hot, don't order. Although Very good Sake, Very good Hot Boy, Very good Our 5 year old, ordered a Zig Zag hand roll and that was VERY GOOD TOO!!! Our waitress was Nicole, she was great. Four of my friends and I descended upon PK Sushi on a Friday night with one thing in mind: gluttony. All of us purchased the AYCE sushi deal. It was worth it. You should have seen the faces on all of my friends as they repeatedly enjoyed individual foodgasms from the pepper fin (melts in your mouth, it really does), the BBQ white tuna, the tempura stuffed mushrooms, and every single sushi roll we got. Our service was spectacular and we loved joking around with our waitress. She was handling the dining room like a boss. By the time we were all done eating, we were bloated like we were pregnant. For the first time in my life I actually craved sushi the next day. The prices are great considering we got out of here for $25 and we were both stuffed. However, even with a 4 seater table ready right in front of our eyes, we were told that there would be a 10-15min wait...what? Why? Well, okay then. The customers that came in after us were all seated immediately...which really made us feel annoyed. Anyways, there's rules, 2 orders max each person. Which, after you get your order, you'll understand why they impose that. The rice to fish ratio is terrible. Where's the fish? WHERE IS IT? All I taste is rice and sauce, it is so surprising to see this place rated so well. How? I've been to many AYCE sushi places, Davis, Elk Grove, Roseville, Los Angeles, Orange County, and this has been the worst, by far. I don't know how this place is with the normal menu, but AYCE is terrible. I wouldn't even go near this if it was half off. I ordered the creamy shrimp plate, which I will attach pics of, you don't have to read further, just look at the picture and decide for yourself. Now here's my rant about it. The description of the item was something like this "Shrimp covered in cream sauce." What I got was obviously a 1 millimeter thin piece of shrimp on top of a wad of rice and some spicy mayo. HOW IS THIS EVEN MATCHING THE DESCRIPTION? It might as well be sushi, without the filling, nori, or anything truly appetizing. Great sushi buffet and a great price. Nowadays, most sushi buffets have some nasty sushi and a bunch of chinese food and hardly and japanese dishes. PK's has a great mix of dishes that are made to order and not just sitting around on a buffet line. If you want quality and you want it hot or cold (in the case of sushi), you have to try this place. We used to go to Mikuni's downtown just to see PK. His sushi is just amazing. A lot of places just douse your rolls in sauce, but PK gives you a good mix. He's good at hearing what type of fish you like and making you a custom made roll to order! I just tell him what fish and he makes up the rest. My favorites on the menu are the Pepper Fin, Pepper Fin, and Pepper Fin. The Black and White is also very good and you have to try all of the appetizers. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful every time I've been there. The only thing I didn't like was the parking. It gets a little crowded in the parking lot (it's a weird shaped shopping center with buildings packed in). It's a bit far, but if you're in the area, it's a definite must! read more

The all-you-can-eat special here, is the best deal in the area BY FAR, in my opinion, even if you just order as much barbecue albacore as you can eat. And some of the rolls are ridiculously good. I only give the place 3 stars because they are a bit wishy-washy about their all-you-can-eat lunch menu. First I was told that you have to be there 30 minutes before lunch is over, then another time I was told you have to be there 45 minutes before lunch is over to get the all-you-can-eat deal. And honestly, I'm not eating there unless it's to get the special, because there are better places to choose from if I just want to pay full price for great sushi. So, as long as you're there in time to take advantage of the special, PK Sushi is a great choice, especially for lunch. read more

Alright, so $20 for an all you can eat lunch and $24 for a dinner might seem like a lot, especially when it's on a per-person basis. However, the selection available on their all you can eat menu is amazing, and by sticking to the nigiri and rolls you can easily get your monies worth. Sushi gets really expensive really quickly, so being able to eat $30-$40 worth of sushi for $20 is pretty phreaking awesome. I come here whenever I can afford to, which ranges about once a month. The quality of the sushi is top notch, and the serving sizes are pretty generous, all things considered.
