Having been impressed with this place in the past we thought we'd try it for takeout. Everything worked out very well for ordering online and it was streamlined and efficient, right to checkout and payment. Overall very user friendly. We ordered a variery of items that actually satisfied for two meals in quantity. We got spring rolls, fried tofu nuggets, vegetable fried rice, pork yaki udon (primarily for the noodles), General Tso's chicken (from the Chinese menu) and Ebi Okonomi Yaki. Note that this restaurant does carry mainly Japanese items but also has some Chinese too. The order was ready on time and perfectly packaged for transporting it and keeping it piping hot too. It was impressive as the steam just emitted from the packaging as it was opened. Everything was quite good and I must say we both enjoyed the General Tso's Chicken the best. The texture profile, flavors and sauce were spot on perfect. It came with white rice. Both the spring rolls and the tofu nuggets were tasty anr wonderful as small bites. The udon noodles were very good and the Ebi Okonomi Yaki tasted better the next day, not that it was bad the first. The flavors just melted better. Raijin Ramen is located in the Raley's plaza on Lincoln Blvd in Lincoln. It occupies the former location of Azy Sushi and Crazy Sushi. Comfortable dining room with Japanese music playing. Fun decorations. Aquarium with 6 fish. Service is polite and checks if you need more water. You receive complimentary Pickled Vegetables as an appetizer at the start of your meal. I like them very much. Cabbage, cucumber, carrots, green bell pepper or jalapeno. Happy Hour 2 PM to 4 PM every day. 20% discount off appetizers and drinks. I recommend the Geso, Crab Rangoons, Tofu Nuggets, and Hot Tea in a teapot. The Tofu Nuggets are similar to the Tofu Edamame Nuggets that Trader Joe's used to carry. Tofu, soybeans, and shredded carrot. They look like chicken nuggets, but it's the firmness of tofu. It comes with Spicy Mayo dipping sauce. Genmaicha loose leaf tea. It's a roasted brown rice green tea. Very pleasant. You get free refills of hot water. Chicken Karaage comes with your choice of dipping sauces: Spicy Mayo, Honey Mustard, and Nanban (light black vinegar). I was allowed to try all 3, but Spicy Mayo is the best. Honey Mustard was OK. I would skip the Nanban. At the end of your meal, you get Complimentary Ice Cream: Green Tea, Vanilla, or Chocolate. I recommend the Green Tea. You can see vanilla bean in the vanilla ice cream. I wouldn't reorder any of my entrees. The Beef Curry had tender meat and yellow pickled radish, but the curry was bland, carrots were too few and mushy, and it was too much rice. The Spicy Champon wasn't spicy and had a fishy broth, likely from the frozen seafood. Note that Champon doesn't come with a marinated soft boiled egg. Noodles were good texture. Server suggested the Miso Tonkotsu (regular, Kara, or Garlic) and Champon (regular or Spicy). Maybe trust the other Yelp reviewers, who seem to be ordering the Kara Miso Tonkotsu and either the Garlic Tonkotsu or the Garlic Miso Tonkotsu? On my first visit, I met a couple who enjoyed the server's recommendations and preferred Raijin Ramen over Umami Ramen. I, however, love Umami Ramen so much more. Maybe it's a matter of personal preference? Portion sizes are generous at Raijin Ramen. I would stick with the appetizers. Maybe try the stir fry noodles, chahan stir fried rice, or tempura. A new ramen place in the neighborhood! It's right next door to Relay's . Easy parking, The place can accommodate large groups and has outdoor seating too for weather appropriate time of the year! Service was good. A good variety of ramen to choose from. I'm not a huge ramen fan but I actually enjoyed the food. Their ramen soup was subtly flavorful, which I liked a lot! Raijin Ramen is the newest ramen place in town. I was a bit hesitant to try it at first because the pictures online weren't that appetizing. But, oh boy, I'm glad we did. The service was great. The staff were really nice, and the food came out fast. I ordered the Kara shoyu tonkotsu ramen. The soup is very flavorful, but it's not spicy, and the noodles are chewy. The okonomiyaki also has a perfect amount of sauce. Their donburi (not pictured) is the best I have ever had so far. The sauce is perfect; it's not very sweet or overwhelming. Yay! Lincoln is having a more diverse food option! We were excited to see Raijin pop up next to Raley's in the old Crazy Sushi location. We have been a fan of Ryujin and Raijin in their Sacramento locations. They're my place to go-to when I want my noodle fix. We ordered: Katsu Don-3/5 sad to say, it was over cooked. Miso-Tonkotsu-3/5 bland broth, they forgot the egg!? Ban Ban ji-peanut dressing was thick, needed to be diluted w/vinegar? 2/5 Geso-5/5 Croquette-4/5 Ambience is warm and cozy, our server was super attentive, reason why I'm giving Raijin 4/5 stars. There is some needed improvements as far as preparation. It isn't what we expected from the Ryujin/Raijin chain. Hoping it will get better since they are still in their opening phase. The food was exceptional, and the service was great. Everything tasted so authentic it honestly felt like I was back in Japan. I ordered the black garlic ramen, and it was absolutely incredible. The broth was rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced, with deep umami from the black garlic. Every bite was comforting and satisfying. The competition in the world of Ramen is strong in the area. Starting up a new Ramen House can be difficult. My brother and I love Ramen and make it a point to try out all of the new spots. Some houses stay on our list of favorites, while others fade into "the noodle abyss" never to be revisited. Tonight, we ate at Raijin Ramen and it didn't disappoint. We started the meal with some Gyoza (basically a pot sticker) and they were excellent. I got a bowl of Kara Miso Tonkotsu with some extra noodles and loved it. The broth was very tasty. I ate the entire bowl down to the last drop. My brother got the Tonkotsu Garlic Bowl and he said it was simply incredible. He also posted a review of his experience. The service was very fantastic and the ambiance excellent. Raijin served a hearty bowl of Ramen (size does matter) at a very reasonable price point. I'm a big eater and didn't go away hungry. You can also tell that the family owned business puts a great deal of pride and effort into making the customers experience positive. Their complementary cup of ice cream was a perfect ending to a great meal. Raijin Ramen did what was expected and more. We will definitely return for another great bowl in the near future. Raijin Ramen in Lincoln is such a great addition to town. They've been open since August, but this was our first time going in--and it definitely won't be our last. Honestly, I already know we'll be back within the next couple of weeks. Henry was our server and he was awesome from the start. He welcomed us right away and was always around when we needed something without hovering. We ordered the gyoza (potstickers) to start, and they were a solid choice. For our main dishes, we both went with the Kara Miso Tonkotsu Ramen, and it did not disappoint. While we were waiting, Henry even brought out some sautéed veggies for us to snack on, which was such a nice and unexpected touch. After we finished eating, Henry brought over complimentary green tea ice cream, and it was the perfect way to end the meal--just the right amount of sweetness. We loved this place. I hear people in Lincoln all the time talking about wanting something new that isn't just pizza or Mexican food, and Raijin is exactly that. Great ramen right in Lincoln. Had the kara shoju tonkatsu and it was great. Not super spicy but had a nice heat, broth was delicious and the pork was super tender. The egg was great.
