Our family always has an amazing time at Placerville RV Resort & Campground! There is so much for kids to do. They love riding their bikes around the campground, swimming, playing mini golf, and ending the day with the outdoor movies. The location is also perfect for exploring the area. We've enjoyed fun day trips to Placerville Speedway, Gold Bug Mine, and Apple Hill, all just a short drive away. The staff are incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. Went camping here over the weekend! My experience here was very pleasant. Bathrooms are clean, they have a playground for kids. They have a tent where they have games, and movie night. Fishing pond, mini golf, a goat that you can pet. A train that you can take a ride on around the camp ground. Everything is free except for the fishing and arcade. If you decide to stay here spot #60. It has a deck w/chairs and seating. Pretty cool spot. They have a swimming pool and hot tub too. Overall my experience was great. The only thing I would recommend is maybe grass around the pool area. The weeds at the pool area were kind of a bummer. They do have a few cabin and they are next to the freeway but ask for a site not so close to the freeway you can hear it So if your looking for a camp spot that is not to far go check them out. read more

We had a fantastic stay at Placerville RV and Campground! Check-in was seamless, and every staff member we encountered, from the front desk to the grounds team, was incredibly friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Our kids (ages 3 and 5) had an absolute blast. They loved riding their bikes around the property, swimming in the pool, playing mini golf, feeding the goats, fishing in the private pond, and riding the train. There were so many activities that we never ran out of things to do. If you're a parent looking for a family-friendly campground, this is a great choice. The campground does receive some comments about being close to the freeway, but honestly, it didn't bother us much at all. We barely noticed it because we were having so much fun enjoying everything the property has to offer. I also really appreciated the text reminders about the activities and events happening throughout our stay. It made it easy to plan our day and ensured we didn't miss out on anything. Placerville RV Resort & Campground - We loved spending evenings in the stocked fishing pond - Campgrounds Near Me - Shingle Springs, California

Last visited when it was affiliated with the KOA chain. Everything is exactly the same, nonetheless. While it may not be an issue for very large RVs (e.g. 5th wheelers), we found site 21 to be problematic. The sewer connection is located at the high-end of the site where gravity is working against a thorough flush. The site could've used more gravel as well as it was very muddy due to the passing storm. It would've been as easy to request an alternative site but opted to deal with it as it was more of a hassle. On the plus side, the campground is large. Great for dog walks! Also convenient for those visiting Red Hawk Casino as it is just a freeway exit away. read more

What a great get away. Only a 40 min drive and Oasis awaited us. The camp was clean, quiet and showers, bathrooms well cared for. The two room cabin had air conditioning, refrigerator, video, and wifi. The kids play ground was in geat shape. Peewee golf and we enjoyed the clean pool and spa. The bbq and fire pit was great for cooking and enjoying roasting marshmallows. The is a small store for all I forgot to pack. The staff was friendly and helpful. Of yea, on the weekends they show movies in the activity center plus an arcade for gamers. We will return. Thanks for a great time. read more

I recently stayed here for a weekend getaway and purchased a pull through spot online. When I arrived, I was given a back in spot. When I told the staff I purchased a pull through, I was simply told we are fully booked. I was not credited to reflect the back in location. Although the RV park is in a nice location, close to the apple farms. I do recommend that if you make reservations online to also call and confirm you will actually get what you purchased online. read more

We love coming up here! We always have a great time from swimming to mini golf, fishing and movie nights by the pool. We love seeing the stars and hearing the crickets at night. The pool is perfect when it's hot hot. The kids love fishing after dinner and seeing the turtles in the pond. Mini golf and the activity tent was an all day thing for my kids. They played ping pong, fooseball, jenga and legos which was nice since we didn't have to pack too many toys. Late night smores under the stars sealed the deal. Depending on the time of year we might hit up RedHawk/ APEX or take a quick drive up to Apple Hill. Either way we love the ambiance and staff and they keep us coming back. read more

My wife, dogs and I stayed for four days in our travel trailer. Our friends also stayed a few spots down. It was a very hot weekend and so the pool was a nice way to cool off. The store had a few basics that we forgot to bring and also had ice cream. The staff was very friendly and the young man (Mitchell?) who was cleaning the pool and pool filters and then set up the movie deserves big kudos. He worked his tail off and everyone in our group noticed it. The wifi signal was strong at our campsite and allowed me to work in the mornings. Rombauer and other wineries were a 30 minute drive. Such a nice way to spend the weekend in a beautiful area surrounded by many wineries. We had a great time and will surely return. read more

My family and I did a group reservation for the cabins. We had a great time!! My grandchildren had a great time swimming, playing in the playground and feeding the goats. The best for them was the train ride. The grounds were kept up, showers and restrooms were clean, pool was refreshing and unfortunately the hot tub was full of kids. That was parent's lack of parenting not the resorts fault. It was clearly posted but ignored. Staff was very friendly and attentive to requests. Our cabin was comfortable, the ac worked great, microwave and mini fridge was clean and worked great. Plenty of space between the cabins and Tent sites. Very relaxing environment! Our cabin was next to the freeway but the traffic noise wasn't as loud as we thought it might have been. When we checked in they gave us each a warm chocolate chip cookie, it was a nice surprise and was very yummy. read more

First I did love the huge pull through sites. I came up to see how it would be for my 3 year old on a future trip. The play structure looked great. The pool was dirty...the hot tub not very warm. No animals in the petting area. Nice pond and dog park. Every time I went to the store it was closed. My spot didn't have a lot of shade and probably hot in summer and was right next to freeway. I did find shady spots opposite side of park. There was a nice group gazebo cooking area. Cabins looked cute. All in all kind of expensive for what I got. Probably won't come back. I live in Sacramento and like camping close to home so 40 minutes was a plus too. read more

Not the place to go if you want peace & quiet. It's less than 200 feet from the 50 freeway and the traffic noise was nonstop 24/7. Good facilities for children so if that's a priority then it might be a good choice. But if you want to "get away" this is certainly not the place. I forgot to mention that there were two dogs in the campsite next to us that barked all day long, even with their owners sitting right by them. I reported it to the office but the disinterested clerk said "Yea, OK. I'll tell the manager." Nothing was done to stop the dogs. read more

This place is not worth the money. 1)The mens bathroom has three stalls and two of them were out of order, the third one had no t-paper. 2( went to there store for some ice and was told that we don't have any right know. 3) tried to get some propane and again was told that they did not have any. 4) There fishing pond look like swamp. read more

My family and I have been camping here for the past 5+ years, and it's one of our favorite spots. We love coming in fall, with Apple Hill being nearby. We have stayed there in our travel trailer and the cabins. We always have a great time, and the kids love the fun train and saying hi to the goats. The bathrooms/showers have been clean during all of our stays. Jay has been very helpful with answering any questions, and assisting me with reservations when needed. My family needed a long overdue reset with no screen time etc. Also birthday weekend for my wife! We stayed for 2 days in one of the 2-room cabins. Even with the not so ideal rainy weather, my family had a blast! The cabin was clean and well maintained. Mini fridge and microwave with the community kitchen and restrooms only 10 seconds away. My kids had too much fun climbing up and down the bunk beds! Short list of things we enjoyed: -Mini Golf Course -WELCOME cookies -Dog Park -Train ride around the campgrounds -Movie Night in the Tent with complimentary popcorn, cookies, hot cocoa -Movie Night in the cabin...over 500 DVDs to choose from! -We will be back to enjoy the pool and hot tub! My wife was very impressed by how much care goes into the operations and maintenance of the camp grounds. Con's: Highway proximity way too loud. You can hear the highway from all sites in the campground. Hot tub has been broken on and off for a couple of months according to store staff, not warm and bubbles only last a few min. Purchased muffins from the store and they were over a month expired. Pond was gross and not something we could fish in, nor would want to. Pro's - nice dog park, garbage cans throughout the park, clean bathrooms and showers, event tent had a movie, games and fresh popcorn/water for kids which was a nice treat. read more

We stayed in one of the cabins while we were being evacuated for a fire. I was very happy to see the cabins had AC, mini fridge, and microwave. I had booked 4 nights but after the first night we ended up being allowed to go home. The person at the front desk very kindly refunded the 3 nights that we didn't stay.
