[[HIGHLIGHT]]I have been going to Amanda for hair color since I was a teen, now 27![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] She is incredible at her craft and always nails exactly what I want on the head. Going to her is ensuring you will be happy with the way your hair looks, she is creative and very skilled. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The only time I will stop seeing her is if she fired me![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Maskless Stylish and Client (both supposedly have "medical conditions")
    Rose E.

First of all, I was feeling very iffy about going to a salon during the pandemic...hence, my hair was getting way too long! I called in advance to check on masks, so I assumed that this salon was taking some Covid-19 precautions. In addition to this supposed mask policy, the front staff member even took thermo check upon entry. But then, here comes the ironic shocker. There was this young, perfectly healthy, pregnant stylist and her elderly client (in her 60's?) completely mask-free, just yapping it up (see pic!)...as I was getting my hair washed right in front of them! BTW, this is a small, busy salon (tight quarters)...and the salon was packed full of people. Definitely no 50% capacity policy going on here! Well, I couldn't refrain from expressing my disgust, and my stylist brought the Owner/Manager, Eric, to me. Honestly, I just wanted to know if the salon manager knew that one of his/her stylists was going mask-free (right along with her carefree, ELDERLY customer!). Well, he sure did. First, he said that this stylist had a medical condition...probably, meaning that she's pregnant!?! He also said that coincidentally, same with the customer. Hmmmmmm...when I looked over, the customer had her mask back on. Guess her "medical condition" miraculously improved during our talk?? He then assured me that other salons were just as bad...in that they can't adhere to mask wearing by all those claiming medical excuses and/or clients that refuse to wear them. He basically read me the book of excuses. It was quite clear where he stood on this issue. Don't think he even attempted any semblance of an apology...for putting me and other customers in harm's way by this lackadaisical, "too pregnant-to-wear-a-mask" stylist (?!?) and her carefree customer. BTW, their "medical conditions" did not excuse the rest of the staff and clients (all within close quarters) from becoming infected, should these maskless people were silent carriers!! Whatever the case, the point is, this salon isn't quite as strict as it tried to come across as you entered. I mean, they even perform Thermo Checks (BTW, even the thermo check didn't seem legitimate...seemed fake!) at the door! So here's the deal. Despite some safety PRETENSE at the door, they are not thoroughly following Covid-19 safety precautions. There's at least one (if not more that I'm not aware of?) "excused" stylist walking around without a mask; and she obviously doesn't mind if her client keeps her mask off as well...if she or he, too, have some "medical condition". Not only were they both maskless, they were both talking excessively...all within 3-12 feet of others. BTW, it's one thing to have a maskless stylist with a medical condition. But then to pretend the place is practicing Covid-19 precautions?!? I will, however, add that there was this plastic partition between this maskless stylist and the stylist section next to her, but nothing to separate her and the busy shampoo station!! Top that off with the fact that again, this stylist talks and walks freely (free to infect others at will, should she be a silent carrier)! Secondly, why put a mask mandate on the door, then ALLOW the customer to take the mask off once inside?? Again, this place makes no sense whatsoever when it comes to safety. Whether it's their inability or unwillingness to maintain OSHA laws, or to be better than the "Jones Next Door", this salon owner/manager feels that his excused, pregnant stylist is just fine to go around maskless, and same with any number of customers (since he can't force them to wear their masks). Okay then! Honestly, I'm betting that some of the stylists here (and the clients) have already reported this salon to OSHA or Mecklenburg Health Department for violating Covid-19 business practice policies! Am betting that their violations are stacking up. I simply don't get why this pregnant stylist can't wear at least a face shield (better some protection than none?!?). As for customers, if they do not comply with wearing masks while in the salon, tell them to put it back on...and if they refuse, tell them to LEAVE... period! If they're too sick to comply with safety precautions (to protect OTHERS around them, not to exercise their SELFISH, personal freedom!!!), why leave their house?!? BTW, my stylist, Ariel, did OK...but for some reason, it's near impossible to find a stylist who is capable of giving me the exact cut that I want (?!?). Thank God the price of the cut was fairly reasonable, so it's not a big issue. THE issue is with this salon's BS policy and all the Covid Safety PRETENSE (Mask mandate on the door, thermo check) and the Bulls***t. I also don't appreciate being lied to. Not just one, but TWO "medical condition" coincidence?!? HA!!! I'm SO done going to this salon. Just check out the pic of this maskless duo before you consider booking an appointment here! So again, I'll leave you all with these 2 words..."BE WARNED".

I've never been so disappointed with my blonde. I came in and (now I've feel totally taken advantage of) I was out of a surgery asked my stylist for a heavy foil. I spent good money to have one of their "better" staff members as I warned the front desk my hair is really hard to deal with if you don't know how to work with blondes. I have 4 different blondes from one uneven saturation, I have bleed marks from lazy application, and though the hair shaft it's different levels of blonde from the processing time being cut off. I've been doing hair for 5 years and I'm new to Charlotte so I know what I'm talking about. When I called the first desk after I was done with my recovery they told me I was past time of them doing anything to help me. So I'll show y'all what I've left with. My blonde at my ends is from me and the roots or lack of a blonde touch up is your salon

I like the shiny fixtures and new black walls :)

This salon always feels like I'm in some cool New York salon. As you look around everyone has such a complete fun look from hair to outfit. The chandeliers are shiny, the walls are black and the place is bustling. The stylists are broken down into color or cut. I use regularly Whitney for color, also Renee is fantastic. Sunshine and Meghan are fantastic stylists. I have used many other girls over the years and honestly everyone has been excellent. I enjoy the time there as much as the results.

Before and after. Laura (cut) and Ashley (color) fixed a serious mess!

Terrible experience. Would not recommend. Front staff were very rude & haircut with senior stylist was horrible. Will not be returning.

Walked in, it wasn't packed, and I appreciated that -- you could tell they were actually focused on their clients and not just rushing through back to back. They offered me something to drink while I waited and the green tea with lavender was really good!! Mark was my stylist -- he was professional, friendly, and easy to talk to. He gave me a great haircut and one of the best blowouts I've ever had. And I mean that. I have very long, thick, wavy textured hair and a blowout alone never cuts it for me. I always have to follow up with a flat iron. That's a big deal for my hair type. I left with my hair looking amazing and didn't need to touch it. Also the products made my hair smell amazing! I was charged extra for longer hair but I expected it and the price was fair. Most importantly, I felt extremely relaxed and comfortable the whole time. This salon deserves their flowers -- highly recommend.

I wanted my hair looking nice because I was having surgery on Tuesday, June 16, 2026! It will be a 4 to 6 week recovery. I have never had my hair looking so bad. I was working with…read moreBrittney Rubac, who was extremely friendly and gave me flawless haircuts for the first six months. After that, however, the quality of my cuts declined significantly, and I experienced a number of recurring issues. Here are a few of the reasons for my negative review: 1) After the first few visits, Brittney inexplicably stopped shampooing my hair. I do prefer dry cuts, but it's still customary to wash and shampoo the client's hair at the end before blow-drying and styling it. A few times I even reminded her by asking, "Are you going to wash/shampoo my hair?" Unless I reminded her, she simply wouldn't do it. I eventually got tired of having to ask every time and just let it go because it wasn't worth making a big deal out of. 2) Brittney started rushing through my haircuts to the point where they were basically done in 20-30 minutes. I came in late one Thursday evening, and I was literally out of the chair in 20 minutes. When she brought me to the front desk, the receptionist said, "Wow, 20 minutes--that's a new record." Brittney just laughed and said, "I was in the zone!" That really didn't sit well with me because when you're charging top dollar for a haircut (and getting tipped 25%), the last thing you want to hear is someone joking about how quickly they got you out the door. It felt like Brittney's focus had clearly shifted from giving quality cuts to getting through appointments as quickly as possible. I know that she has a long commute home, but spending 20 mins on someone's cut is absurd. 3) Over time, Brittney just genuinely seemed to stop caring about the quality of my haircuts and instead made excuses for shoddy work. Her go-to excuse was that the humidity was affecting how my hair was laying or styling. Once that excuse no longer worked during the winter, she switched to telling me that "your hair is changing." I'm sorry, but my hair did not suddenly change after 6 months, it was the quality of my haircuts that changed. 4) After months of subpar cuts, Brittney gave me another haircut that I wasn't happy with, and I let her know how I felt. Her response was to immediately call the owner and ask that I no longer be serviced at the salon. I'm disappointed that not only did I receive poor haircuts for well over six months, but when I finally expressed my frustration, the solution was simply to stop serving me as a client. I never raised my voice at Brittney, or used foul language, or did anything that could be conceived as inappropriate - I just simply expressed dissatisfaction which Brittney did not want to deal with. Honestly speaking, I don't think Brittney is a bad hairstylist, but I do genuinely think she lacks the experience and attention to detail needed for men's haircuts. The owner even mentioned that men's cuts aren't something Brittney does frequently and that she only sees a handful of male clients per week. if you're looking for a quality men's cut, please avoid Brittney Rubac and this salon.
